I wish every home improvement project could go as smoothly as it did working with these guys. I needed some work done to help prevent water pooling up against the side of my house during storms. I requested a quote to turn my lawn into a desert landscape. I assumed this to be pretty straight forward. Next thing I know I had to hire Dirty Work's referred landscape designer to create the landscape for $500 before he could quote the project. Basically a $500 fee to quote. I did not hire dirty work. Who would? Don't you want to know the cost before committing to a project. Response to owner comment: so the other landscapers who are quoting this project without a design fee must be mind readers. This review is long overdue! Victor was amazing. He communicated with me every step of the way. I had so many problems with this section of my house: flooding when it rained due to no drainage, was constantly muddy since our grass sloped downward towards that area and overall was a very cold and dull area. I drew up a quick picture of what I had in mind and victory immediately got it. He walked with me in my yard and marked out on the ground a rough idea of how he saw my plan. Along the way, he made many suggestions that I am now glad I agreed to do. He was hands-on through every step. He helped me pick out the different materials we could use from the walkway and the seating wall, all the way to the type of plants we could put inside the planter that would work well with that area. He even ran low voltage lines to a different part of the backyard, as well as the front yard for when I decide to add more lighting in the future. Victor and David did a fantastic job on our small project for our walkway in front of our house. I reached out for several quotes from other paving companies and no one was even willing to take on our job due to the size. I received cheaper quotes from different gardeners; however, I purposely chose Victor because of his attitude and genuine experience. I cannot say enough about the work done by Victor and his crew. I had taken down a huge concrete wall myself, but could not remove the steel support polls or concrete base. Juan and his co-worker came in and removed it all in a day! In an effort to update the design and functionality of my yard, conform to the new water regulations and restrictions and to have a new retaining wall built to protect from an approaching canyon slope at one end of my property, I made arrangements for work to be done and scheduled a start date and had three + pallets of retaining wall blocks delivered to my house.in front of my garage. On the Saturday the work was scheduled to begin, my landscaper was a no-show, and when I phoned him, he said he couldn't do it. My immediate problem was what about all those pallets making it very difficult to get out of my garage, and each block was so heavy, that I could not pick up even one. On Sunday I reviewed all the landscape companies in the Anaheim Hills area and came across Victor and Dirty Work Landscape Co. and did use the Yelp reviews as a guide. Desperate as I was, I called them on a Sunday and within 5 minutes I had a return call from Victor. On Monday morning he was at my house with a work crew and details about what they would do, and exact breakdown of costs. I'd had one of the popular garden chains redo one half of my front yard using their designer, their plants, and labor subcontracted out to another firm. The result was a disaster and a lot of refunds. Victor's company should be called Excellent Work Landscape and he and his crew have been at my property for more than two weeks, completing a new retaining wall, building a gorgeous planter around an old Magnolia tree, tearing up all the old lawn in my side yard and replacing it with pavers and planting drought tolerant plants.. They brought in a huge rototiller machine, removed all the dead lawn, cut back roots and tilled the soil down to where the pavers could be properly laid. And, they hauled everything away. I now have an entirely new sprinkler system, with drip systems and the new sprinkler heads that conform to the City's specs. and they replaced 30 years of broken, buried and non- functioning sprinklers which did nothing but waste water. I also contracted with him to redo the other half of my front yard with my own design and I purchased all my own plants at Home Depot. They again removed all the old lawn, took out roots from trees, did several rounds with the rototiller and tonight finished the planting. My front yard has become a traffic stopper, and I cannot tell you how much I've enjoyed working with Victor and his very diligent and courteous and pleasant crew. I'm also going to have them maintain my yard so that it will continue to look as lovely as it does now, and eventually have him do outdoor lighting for me. read more

During the drought, the front lawn of my father's property stopped being watered. When it became time to bring it back, we thought it best to hire a professional. We entertained three bids from well ranked Yelp landscapers and chose Victor based on lowest price. Our budget was limited. Yet we also wanted a long-term solution of a xeriscape (very drought tolerant) and low maintenance completely redone lawn. Victor helped us find a plan we were pleased with and could afford. Though it could be that the lawn just used to look that bad, the finished lawn came out fantastic. He even put a nice touch of fixing a sprinkler pipe that was not part of the estimate before he left. If anyone is replacing their lawn in Cerritos, note that they require a professional made landscape planner. You can make one yourself and the people in Cerritos City Hall were very helpful but one still needs to make one as if a professional did it. read more
