    Moist brisket
    Eric S.

Beautiful restaurant nice ambiance. Sub par food. My moist brisket was extremely dry and tough. It was hard to crew and cold. I am convinced the bark on the brisket was plastic. Sides were ok at best commercial grade. Really wanted to like this place but it will be a no go for me!

WHERE'S THE BEEF!!! Supposed to be a loaded potato!!

FOOD SERVICE AND AMBIANCE!! I ordered the Loaded Baked Potato with Moist Chopped Beef. What a joke...there was maybe a tablespoon of beef on a huge potato. Service at the Bar was ridiculous. The bartender only attended to one table out of four. We were sitting one table away from that table and he looked our way and didn't offer anything and went back around the bar RUDE! Ambiance...what ambiance?

Reyna's in McAllen I would figure whoever is preparing the order should have seen what he was doing

4/5 overall - great cocktail lounge!…read more Parking - adequate Atmosphere- modern, comfortable, upscale interior design/curated and well styled Happy Hour - menu is small but adequate. I'd rather them offer a limited selection of specials that are all tasty and well crafted than a huge special menu but everything tastes bland or is not fresh. All HH items are $10 or less. As far as the happy hour window, pretty disappointed. They open at 6p which is late for most professionals. We arrived at 6p and the door was locked. If you want to unwind after work, you'll have to stop somewhere else first or just go straight home because if you start happy hour at 6p, you won't be leaving til 8:30p. Cocktails- I had the Paloma and the Dracula which were both great but the Dracula was absolutely gorgeous and flavorful! I will definitely come back to try more cocktails. Bites - The empanadas are perfect. Good fundamental taste, not too crispy or too spicy, allows the dipping sauces to complement them instead of overpowering. I also tasted a bit of the fries. I thought they were great. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

A James Bond kind of theme, dark, mysterious and sexy. We made reservations and received a call for confirmation. As we sat at the bar, we were served by the bartender, Diamond who was helpful, attentive and willing to answer questions. The three different martinis on Happy Hour menu were excellent, especially the espresso and dirty martini. The empanadas were filled with great flavors of chicken and cheese. The Bond fries we recommend, fries topped with caramelized onions, animal dressing and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. The spiced mixed nuts, were okay. The charcuterie board was filled with 4 different meats, 4 different cheeses, olives, tomatoes and toast. If any constructive criticism, I would put a few crackers on the board, however it was a great treat! We will be back. Things to be aware, you need a reservation and there is a dress code.

Like someone took all the 80s stuff and put it in this place to store... and then someone turned it into a bar. So it's actually pretty rad, if overstimulating. You can play OG nintendo here, gaze upon the glowing face of madonna splashed on the walls or ogle the hot 80s studs on posters in the bathroom. It's also a place that I think will get trashed really quickly if the valley has anything to do with hit. Regardless, it's at least different and not another restaurant/bar that people seem to favor in McA. I'd take Deloreans over chilis or Buffalo wild wings any day. The drink prices are steep -- especially for what you're receiving, it's really loud and when I was in there, it magically became club delorean at some point, with people packed in like sardines and dancing. It's worth a couple of visits but I think it would get really really old after a while.

The smells that greeted us when we walked through the door let me know we were heading for a great meal. After perusing the menu, I decided on the brisket plate (moist and sliced) with potato salad, beans, and a tortilla. The brisket was everything Texas brisket should be--fork tender and so full of flavor. I added a bit of the sauce they keep on the table and it took up another notch. As an added bonus, they serve tea in quart jars. And it was strong and fresh. Service was outstanding. Everyone there was so nice. If I get back down this way, I'll definitely head back to 492.

One was brisket, pulled pork and regular sausage with a side of beans. I loved the smoke flavor of the pulled pork and all the meats were moist and juicy. The beans could use more flavor. It was supposed to be to be charro beans but was missing ingredients that could be the reason it was bland. Also ordered the strawberry lemonade and it was delicious. It is served in a large mason jar. Ambience is casual and yes it is a bit chilled inside but with this Texas heat it is understandable. I will not complain about that. Frankly I would prefer this place over Rudy's BBQ. Give a try and tell me what you think.
