The fish and shrimp are fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The service I have experienced with the owner and male staff have always been respectful, welcoming and considerate. ( I went there 2 Saturdays past and the female that waited on me was not welcoming, I stood there to tell her the fish I wanted to buy and she turned and begun speaking with the male staff. I purchased 3 crab cakes and two of them were picked up with a plastic bag, but the server( guy who rung me up)picked up one of my crab cakes with his bare hand. Is that normal for the men behind the counter to use their bare hands to pick up food? Because that disgusted me. I know the law says you can't handle cooked food with your bare hands but is it not good for those who handle fish products to wash their hands after touching raw foods? The guy who picked up my crab cake with his hand wiped his hand in a very dingy hand towel that looked like it had never been washed. I think he used some type of sanitizer before wiping his hands but either way, using a dingy towel, what would be that purpose? I just hope this was an isolated incident. read more

I grew up eating Reynold's Seafood, so it only seemed right to raise my kids on it as well. I love the familial atmosphere and pure respect that comes with each visit. Each gentleman, or lady, goes above and beyond to give an excellent customer service experience. Even though they are mostly UNC fans, and I'm a die hard Duke fan, that does not give them cause to disrespect me. I love that the fish is always fresh, and if by chance it was frozen, they disclose that information as well. Prices are terrible and not accurate to what you are buying. The board tells you a price per pound, but they double it to clean it. All the prices are dead weight so you can go ahead and double that price if you want it cleaned. (no fish are cleaned prior to purchase) It is very misleading. Also had a friend take some flounder that we had gigged to them to be filleted. The fish were butchered with allot of the meat being left on the fish. When we saw the size of the fillets we told the owner we wanted to see the remainders of the fish we brought in. (over 40 fish and we picked them up same day) We were told that they were gone and that one of the workers took them home. Evidently they let their employees take home the scraps and since these fish were ours, they selectively left a whole bunch of meat on the bones for themselves. You want a decent fish house, go to New Bern. B&J is allot cheaper and seem to have some integrity. I live in Kinston and will not do business with Reynolds ever again. read more

Friendly owners and helpful staff serving the freshest seafood you will ever find. Plenty of parking and you might even want to eat at Lovick's Cafe next door while your seafood is being prepared. They will freeze your order if needed for travel back home if you do not live in Kinston. The Reynolds folks have been in business for a long time for an obvious reason....they supply the best seafood at a reasonable price with a smile and preparation advice if needed. read more

This family business is probably the best place to get great fresh Seafood. The employee's are very knowledgeable about the food and will help you out no problem what so ever. The prices are less than your average grocery store and the boss man might even cut you a deal. Checks/Credit/Debit/Cash and Food stamps are accepted. How convenient! read more

I was in town for the weekend and decided to grab some filleted catfish. The price list stated that catfish was $4.95/lb which is what im used to paying for catfish fillets back home in Raleigh, so the price is good. So I asked for 4 lbs of filleted catfish. At the register the cashier says total bill for 4 lbs of filleted catfish was $36. So basically he charged me $9/lb for this catfish. Absolutely ridiculous! I immediately question this total and point to his price list posted. He then tells me that the price posted is for whole catfish not filleted. I told him that his price list is very misleading and how would someone know that without being told that. He states that he cant afford to charge that in Kinston. Basically he was saying that the community is used to being taken advantage of as far as his prices are concerned. If you are in Kinston and shopping here for seafood, you are really getting taken advantage of. I advised the cashier that i would never shop here again for seafood and would share my experience with others. Call around for the price of filleted catfish in other cities and you will realize how this place is ridiculously over priced. Never again! read more
