The interior is very Instagrammable, and they serve cage-free eggs, but I was grossed out to see duck on the menu, I thought "duck" was just a cute diner name. The avocado toast with goat cheese was good. The mirrors next to the tables are handy for checking if you've got anything on your face. They charge 3% for using a credit card, which was surprising since they use Resy for reservations. Unlike other restaurants in Savannah, the server didn't swipe my card at the table with a handheld device, so I didn't feel comfortable giving him my debit card. It feels like this fee is just being passed back to customers rather than being absorbed as a normal cost of doing business. Service was unprofessional. My server Trey S. didn't remove the menu after I ordered. When my food was delivered, the woman knew it was my table (I dined alone) but still asked if it was my order - talking over my plate. Then, when the server brought the bill, it was placed on top of the menu. It felt like he wasn't paying attention to the guest experience, and I reflected that in my tip because the service left me a bit disappointed. I myself have been to Little Duck Diner several times. However, this was my mom and grandson's first time going. I decided on the salmon avocado salad. Which was delicious! Mom decided to go with a breakfast option. She really enjoyed it. However her favorite thing was the sweet tea. My grandson's favorite thing was getting a cup of water with a cute little duck in it. We had a large group for a bachelorette trip and the Little Duck Diner took care of us for brunch! We walked in for a table and we were told there would be a 45 minute to an hour long wait but luckily it ended up being a lot faster than that! We all ordered drinks and enjoyed them. From the bubble bath drink to Pinot Grigio, they were all delish! I had the grilled cheese but added bacon and tomato and oh my it was good!! It came with fries that were so crispy and had almost like a Cajun seasoning on them which was a nice touch. Found this place when visiting Savannah for the weekend. The kids burger and pancakes were good portions. The shrimp and grits were delicious, very creamy and flavorful. We were able to score a seating outside. It was a too beautiful of a day to sit inside. We tried the fried risotto as a starter. I have to say these were the best we have ever had. I'm gluten free and was concerned about eating them. They were so lightly breaded that it didn't bother my stomach. They were so good! The Flap Crab was tasty but as I was eating it, it became too crabby. I think if it had lump crabmeat it would have been better. I still would recommend this restaurant. Cute place and within walking distance (1 mile) from our hotel. It was on the corner of a block so we found it easily with the neons in the window. We arrived for brunch as a family and kept it simple with a Classic Grilled Cheese & the Duck Grilled Cheese. The Duck Grilled cheese was a little on the wet side but I guess that's expected with a juicy Duck. The bread just couldn't hold up to the task. Super cute restaurant, but long/unpredictable wait times for brunch on the weekend. My party of three was quoted well over an hour, so we decided to walk around the area. We were a decent walk away when a table opened up about 30 minutes later -- we rushed back but missed our window. Thankfully, the hostess put us next on the list, but all the stress was unnecessary. I ordered one of their sandwiches and upgradfed to their summer tomato soup, which I highly recommend. We actually tried to go Saturday but the wait was too long so we came back earlier on Sunday to get a table. If you're not going early for weekend breakfast, be prepared to wait. As one of the city's most popular breakfast spots, it was very crowded and loud in a way that I would describe as more tight and busy than lively. I ended up going with the Maxwell, which is a breakfast sandwich, and it was huge and absolutely delicious. For our first meal in Savannah (arrived late at night the previous day), we could resist the temptation of a hearty Southern breakfast. As this was located right next to the Andaz (where we were staying) this was also supremely convenient. When we arrived, there was a little bit of a wait to eat indoors, so we opted to eat in the outdoor patio. While it was quite balmy outside, we didn't mind the slight breeze we got. We ordered the following items: 1) Iced Coffee: This wasn't on the menu, but we got it iced per our request. It was a pretty good coffee (La Colombe, I think). 2) The Maxwell: This was my breakfast. This was absolutely tasty. The cheddar cheese was a great addition. I loved how the sriracha mayo complemented the caramelized onions and chives. The bun was great too. Was a tad bit oily, so I opted for the fork and knife approach, which was a smart decision. 3) The Biscuit Sandwich w/o Sausage: This was my girl's first foray into Southern food on this trip. The biscuit was amazing. Nice and fluffy. Great decision. We wrapped this all up by buying a signature duck. Couldn't say no. I wanted to cry from how awful this place was bad. Seriously, I went here for my birthday weekend after hearing good reviews and I'm so confused... the food was bad, I got a waffle and it was BAD. The potatoes?? Seemed like they had been sitting there for hours, just cold and terrible. The server replaced them with hashbrowns and even those were bad!! "Duck" out on eating here. I have heard reports of restaurants "buying" reviews. If this does exist, it would explain why the Google reviews were so positive. In a city with many restaurant options, we won't return. A "shout out" to the hostess was very friendly and welcoming. My family members had the following items: crab risotto balls, Thai tomato soup, shrimp & grits, chocolate chip pancakes and avocado grilled cheese. For drinks, we had iced tea. The crab risotto balls and the iced tea were the highlights of our meal. The tomato soup sounded interesting, but was just OK. The shrimp & grits mentioned "curry sauce." It was bland tomato sauce with a couple of small tomato chunks. It tasted surprisingly like the tomato soup. Unlike most recipes, the shrimp and grits had no other vegetables. The grits were properly cooked albeit runny. I asked if the shrimp were local and was informed they were. I doubt this claim. The shrimp were not anything like the South Carolina and Georgia shrimp I've enjoyed. My wife's avocado grilled cheese was "good," but in her words, " not a reason to return." My daughter's pancakes were dry with a cottony texture. They also tasted like waffles, which made us think for "efficiency purposes," they use the same batter. We did ask for iced tea refills but they never appeared. Our waiter apologized for not returning with refills and explained "only three of us are working." The restaurant wasn't full. He did kindly offer to get us to go drinks. After waiting, we decided it was time to skedaddle. The waiter gave us a postcard card with 10% off any Rhino hospitality restaurant. While a nice gesture, after our experience at Little Duck Diner we'll dine elsewhere. read more

Such a cute place for brunch! Loved how the interior of this place looks with the open kitchen to see all the chefs. They also have outdoor seating which is perfect for nice weather! Foodwise, the options they have are pretty solid. I got the chicken and waffles and it was good. Nothing mind blowing but the waffle was nice and fluffy. I wish the chicken was breaded differently, maybe in a wet batter then fried rather than whatever they had going on. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious too, not overly sour. The kimchi salad is literally just kimchi on a lettuce mix but the kimchi was surprisingly good! My friend loved her duck tacos. We also split the lemon cake which was tasty as well. I got notes of artificial lemon more than real lemon but it didn't make the cake any less tasty. Our server was also very kind! He was quick to get us anything we asked for. I stopped by Little Duck Diner for breakfast on our last morning in Savannah. Operated by the Rhino Hospitality Group and having visited two of their other locations this weekend, Chive and Peacock Lounge, I knew we were in for quality food and good service. We arrived within 10 minutes of opening on a Sunday morning and only 1 other table was seated. Our waiter Jack came over and offered coffee, water, and help with the menu. I ordered a coffee with almond milk, and my husband just a glass of regular milk. Our glasses were refreshed throughout our time there. I ordered the Maxwell sandwich on a biscuit instead of a brioche bun. The egg wasn't soft scrambled and there weren't any chives, but the scrambled eggs were plentiful and cooked on a flatop so they were uniformly piled onto my biscuit. The American cheese was too much though and I removed it from my sandwich all together. Otherwise the lightly caramelized onions were a nice twist and the sandwich was eaten with a fork and knife due to the size. The ambiance there was nice, with quiet music, bright paint and large paneled mirror surrounding the front dining room. I liked the restaurant and it was a much better breakfast than the one we had the day before. I ordered the Avocado Gourmet Grilled Cheese and my friend ordered the Chocolate Chip Pancakes. The Avocado Gourmet Grilled Cheese comes with fries and it was very filling. It had a nice crunch to it and was pretty flavorful. I also liked the fries, it was seasoned pretty well. You can add tomato soup to this meal for an extra $6.95. My friend really liked the Chocolate Chip Pancakes she ordered. They were nice and fluffy and comes with a strawberry, powdered sugar, and whipped cream.
