I've been a loyal customer at Rhodium Smoke and Vape for over 3 years, but after my most recent experience, I won't be coming back. I purchased a disposable vape that turned out to be defective right out of the package--it wouldn't even turn on. When I brought it back, the staff refused to refund or exchange it, even though I had the receipt and packaging and explained the issue calmly. It's extremely disappointing to be treated this way after years of giving them my business. A good shop should stand behind the products they sell, especially when it's clearly a defective item. This is the only place I know of that marks UP their products by 25-30%. I came by to just pick up a small roll of hemp twine, it usually costs around $2-3 bucks for a small roll of RAW twine. I came in and they wanted $7-8 bucks. Complete utter rip off, I can only imagine how much other crap is highly overpriced. I'm going to recommend that if you read this, you can easily find any of the Up in Smoke shops either at Adams and Harbor, 19th street across from the DMV, or the one on Newport Blvd at Wilson street, or even the cigar shop next to Stater Brothers off of Baker and Fairview. This place is counting on the drunks from the bars and the breweries here on Randolph way, so if you're in need of some SERIOUS smoking supplies without being ripped a new asshole in your wallet, DON'T GO HERE. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! Their Google and Yelp listings clearly state they close at 11 PM, but when I showed up at 10:50 PM, there were two people inside laughing and ignoring me when I knocked. And to top that off not even a closed sign posted. I understand that maybe they had to leave early for the night for whatever reason they may have had but at the end of the day it's about customers and you should at the very least put a sorry we're closed sign to help indicate that the business is in fact closed instead of having new customer walk around trying to see if each of the doors is locked or looking to see that the time they were using to go off of was correct for the closing time. read more

I call ahead of time to ensure that I will have enough to cover the cost of the specific item I want and although i am told it will be $85 flat if I pay cash, I inform the employee I do not want to go to an atm to get cash and that I have $88 on my card. She said thats fine and I am told it will be $87 after taxes. Upon making the purchase, I enter my number for the rewards program and I am informed I have a $5 off reward and I choose to redeem the reward. Then the cashier tells me "sorry its going to be $87.98 even with the $5 off reward because of the card fee... To make matters worse, I look at the item to discover it is slightly different than the one I specifically had asked about and so it will not work for me. So I need a refund and then they tell me they can only refund me $85 since the card fee is separate. I understand the employees are perhaps unable to make the decision to give a full refund and that the mistakes of providing me with false information that they do indeed have an item when in fact it was a slightly different than the item I needed is an easy mistake to make but the owner ought to make things right with me as I am confused as to what happened to my $5 off reward and I shouldn't have to pay a card fee when the fee could have been reversed if the employees were adequately trained to provide refund to my card as opposed to giving me a cash refund of only $85 Especially considering I am a regular here and have spent thousands of dollars on glass here. Disappointed to say the very least, mostly that they didn't have my item and told me they did as I could have gone to their location in Long Beach or made alternative plans. Extremely unhappy and frustrated with this experience. Not my favorite shop. The last two times I have lost money from their products- one of the coils from my 3 pack was missing. It happens so I let it go. The next time I opened my juice bottle and when I turned it upside down the entire lid popped off and ALL the juice came pouring on to my clothing and floor. That's over $40 in product. My roommate just bought 2 stiizy pens that were $40/each and BOTH were broken and did not fire. Hey, I've been a regular for two years, even after moving to a new city I still come to the same shop. Last night, I got hit with a $700 charge instead of $50. Only realized it when my dad checked the screen on the register. I asked the worker twice about my total before he noticed the mistake. The weird part? He started saying stuff like, "You got money, most people's cards wouldn't have gone through." While trying to count cash to refund me he told me I'll call my bank since I used Apple Pay, making it sound like I will scam them for $700 since he about to pay me back in cash. No apologies, no info on how I'd get my money back no product no receipt. Things escalated, I got kicked out, had to involve the cops and my bank.
