I honestly don't know all the names but it was ALL DELICIOUS

We found out that if she is available, Ria offers cooking lessons (for parties of 4+). We called her to schedule a date and then we discussed what we would like on the evening's menu. We decided that we wanted to learn how to make butter chicken. She made it in front of us and discussed the ingredients while we ate our appetizers. It was so much fun. We got to eat what we watched her make and she also had for us many other dishes to eat during the times when we had to wait for the dish to marinade. She was very involved and it was so much fun that I encourage anyone who is interested in learning how to make Indian food to try. It was $50 per person and I felt that it was reasonable and 100% worth it. Such a fun experience!

First time coming here and when I walked in nobody was there, I had to walk into the kitchen to find them. After I ordered the last came out and got something out of the store freezer which I now know was the naan. Besides the naan everything else was pretty good and the lady even made me fresh green sauce.

This is a hidden gem , love my Indian food and this Lady has some amazing Indian cuisine , she is in the early stages of the restaurant side of the shop . Recommend going to the website to pre-order but take whatever she is cooking on the day ! It resembles being invited into her home kitchen and getting incredible freshly prepared dinner . Columbus so needed this place .

But definitely come as you are. The interior was gorgeous, I wish I took photos but wanted to be respectful of others who were dining and eating! It did take us a bit of time to wait for our food, but the fresh and delicious food definitely is worth the wait- more on the $$ side. Food = divine. This is coming from a Houston girl who's surrounded by incredible Indian/South Asian cuisine. You're given the option of a 1-5 spice level for most of their dishes- we went with 3 and it was perfect! Enough heat to still be able to enjoy the great flavors, and enough heat to give us a bit of a kick- definitely a comfortable spice level (but my boyfriend and I have a pretty good spice tolerance). Loved their mango lassi- a mango + yogurt drink- I can't ever pass up an opportunity to get a mango lassi. Their garlic naan was thin, buttery/garlicky, and absolutely divine. Definitely can't get better than eating fresh naan, they definitely came out fresh and piping hot, and very soft/strechy, you have to get the garlic naan- one serving is 5 pieces. Their chicken tikka masala was so delicious- I know, it's a more common dish to get. It was so incredibly creamy and nutty, definitely one of the better chicken tikka masala's I've had. If you're new to Indian/South Asian cuisine, definitely a must! Kind of like a butter chicken if you're slowly branching out. I'm a lover of paneer, their Saag Paneer was pretty good- paneer itself felt a bit flat but it was still delicious. Their lamb shank was pretty good- it was a bit more on the dry end, still moist, but a bit dry. Typically like a lamb shank that falls off the bone, but the flavors were still there, and loved the sauce and definitely loved the spinach that it came with. Chicken samosa's were okay! Mostly filled with welll/seasoned shredded chicken, nothing super special but it was still delish- will likely try to veg samosa's next time. It was super crispy! Service was overall pretty good- a bit slow in getting our food out, longer than an average wait I feel, but I noticed that there was also a large gathering around when we went so it likely took some time but no biggie. Our waitress was nice! Staff all seemed very friendly. Food came out all piping hot and fresh so definitely no complaints. Will absolutely be back!

I got the goat curry and the lamb pasanda with the garlic naan, roti and an order of samosas. The man who took my order said it would take 25-30 minutes, but I'm pretty sure it was less than that because shortly after the 25 minute mark I walked in and my food was prepared, packed and ready. Even after I returned home all the food the still piping hot as though it had just been served! My goat curry was excellent and the lamb pasanda was wonderful as well; meat was tender and fell off the bone! The only reason why I don't have pictures is because I was too busy enjoying my wonderful meal! Consider my craving satisfied! I will definitely be frequenting here.

The server is usually friendly but slow to come to the table. But the food is so poor quality. The first time I went here with my friend, I tried a chicken dish which was okay, but bland and lacked spice (I chose medium). The naan is quite good, but expensive compared to other Indian restaurants. Their menu, however, is quite big and you do have a handful of options. However, my last trip there was the last time I will ever go due to how awful it was. I went with one other person, and the restaurant was empty. It was around 7 pm on a weekday night, so I expected perhaps a few people to be in there. There were some takeaway orders that I noticed, but nothing else going on. I tried another spicy chicken dish, and my friend tried a cheese ball dish. Both of our dishes were thrown out after we took them home, and we probably ate maybe 20 percent of what we got. For some reason, instead of my dish being a curry, it was bland again, lacked spice again, and was like a water/broth? I also tried my friend's dish, which made me gag. The cheeseballs tasted rotten, as they had somehow become curdled in the hot dish. We also waited well over 30 minutes even though there was no one else there. We also preemptively decided to order the carrot and gulab jamun desserts ahead of time and took them home. The carrot dish had an unpleasant texture, and the jamun was way too sweet. Simply because of this, I would never return.

Only one time have I had any issues, where the provided rice tasted and smelled 'sour,' upon arrival home from a takeout order. Otherwise, food has been up to standard and very good. Service is typically good, although there was a time when I walked in and the gentleman at the counter did not seem to be able to speak English. The restaurant is brightly lit inside, definitely giving it more of a lunch vibe than a dinner one. The sheltered patio space on the wing of the building is darker. India Palace would benefit greatly from reducing prices 2-3 dollars on their main course items. As a college student living in a college town where cheap alternatives to fine dining are everywhere, there has been many a time where I have opted to not choose India Palace over somewhere else, due to the relative high prices of common items. The same way I wouldn't pay $18 for General Tso's Chicken is why I hesitate to choose an $18 Chicken Tikka Masala, or even the $20 Chicken Tandoori, with chicken being a cheap commodity in the Auburn-Opelika area. Prices are the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. The restaurant feels more like a pricy lunch spot that you eat at and leave rather than go out for enjoy the time you spend there. Other than that, great restaurant when you're looking for something different and well-made.
