I discovered this place when I started working in Alsip June of 2022, and it was awesome! Was feeling ribby for lunch today and called in. Went to dead. I still went there for lunch and was sadly disappointed. They were closed. Unsure if it is temporary or permanent, as an inspection sticker was placed over the door frame to ensure no entry. Well, the rib tips are always good, but the service sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. They were late opening and when I mentioned that fact, the worker said she was late on purpose because her relief is always late. (Huh). Imagine telling a customer that your time is not valued. First time customer, greeted by the owner and wife. They were very friendly. Offered me samples of the pork rib tips, greens and turkey tips. I ordered large tip n link combo. Very good tips you can taste the smoke flavor and tender. Links were very good kind of dry. Greens were very good, corned bread w good too. Hubby got a steak burger he liked it. I will be coming back again to try other things. This is a little hole in the wall but good food. Little pricey but you get what you pay for. I don't mind paying for good food. I decided to go to Rib Brothers after hearing their ad on WVON radio. I phoned in my order I was towed to the order will be ready in 15 minutes, and I arrived in 20 minutes later it was hot and ready to go. I ordered a small rip tip, Macaroni and cheese and a peach cobbler on the side. However, I was too full to eat the peach cobbler so I'll have to attempt it tomorrow. But it smells delicious. Ordered rib tips through Grubhub! Nothing but fat! No meat! Order of fat arrived cold! So called rib tips extremely dry! They didn't put any sauce on tips! Not even on the side! Tasted horrible! So the first time i had this spot was through a friends function and they were so juicy and tender i couldn't believe it could be duplicated. So i asked for the info and ordered on a separate occasion. Swear if it wasn't hitting on all cylinders again. This is the some of the best bbq I have had in Chicago, period. I have had Smoque, Blackwood, Lem's and the late Uncle John's but Rib Brothers definitely hold their own. I only wish they served brisket. Their rib tips, however, were super tender, moist and seasoned perfectly. The smoky flavor was right on point and balanced perfectly with their tangy yet slightly sweet sauce. As other reviewers have mentioned they put a Cajun seasoning on their fries and fried chicken wings that is delicious. It really compliments the food. We also had the mac and cheese which was good along with the potato salad. The standouts were the ribs, links, and wings. I can't finish this review without mentioning the outstanding service here. There were two girls there, I believe the daughters of the owner, and they couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. They offered me a free sample when I told them it was my first visit. Only my second time trying Rib Brothers. The first time was because of the reviews from Chicago's Best and they lived up to their review. Friendly owner and loved that he provided samples before buying to guarantee great food. This time we ordered and quickly did the grab and go because of the new takeout practices. I love french fries so they were great with their delicious bbq sauce. Surprisingly their tips and links were a bit salty but the meat was tender. I think it was just one of those missed moments. Today I happened to be on YouTube and Chicago's best popped up with Rib Brothers. I watched the video and decided to order up some rib tips. Once I got my hand on the first one, I knew it was going to be heavenly! The rib tips are very "TENDER" and have globs of nice bark and smoke aroma and taste. I hope their 'regulars' and new customers bear with them for a bit. They are definitely still one of Chicago's best :) Plz have be patient. My wife is the best wife ever. She's the one who, while I'm paying attention to the road and the aggressive crazies who are as crazy and aggressive as me, notices new and interesting places to eat. Thus it was that one beautiful summer's day she said Rib Brothers might be a place to try. Not the prettiest location or classiest of outdoor seating areas, but Lord Almighty, the food is soooooo delicious. I know everyone has different tastes in barbecue, and I've enjoyed gnaw-off-the-bone and fall off the bone, vinegary and spicy, sweet and sour, but this is an all-around favorite for me. Ribs are seriously meaty and smoked tender. Tips are generous and also tender. I like the sauce, maybe because I've grown to love the thick, sweet, smoky Chicago Style. I love the fries, and the rest of the sides we've tried are delicious and gorgeous. The proprietors, as mentioned in many reviews, are warm, helpful, generous and genial. Not to mention they know smoke. If you need a reasonably priced go-to barbecue in the South/Southwest Suburbs, Rib Brothers will definitely fit the bill. This was my first and last experience with this establishment. I placed a phone order at 1:15 and was told it would be an hour before it would be ready. Went to pick it up at 2:30, and was told it would be 40 MORE MINUTES before the order is ready. Nearly two hours after placing the order, it was ready. WOW. What a gem! We were about to leave the market, when we decided to stop and have a sample of rib tips from this delicious smelling tent. Little did we know that it would be the best rib tips we've ever had, and we would be ordering some to go. A "small" had a GENEROUS amount of rib tips, with fries and a slice of bread. It was more than enough for the 2 of us, with enough leftover to make 5 tacos later in the day. Their BBQ sauce was out of this world too. I was totally disappointed in Rib Brothers. After seeing the review on Chicago's Best, the following Thursday, I found myself cruising Pulaski to try their barbeque. I waited almost an hour for my order which is usual for a rib joint. It smelled delicious. The first rib tip was good...then the after taste kicked in. They tasted like boiled hot dogs. So after an evening of going back and forth, we decided on BBQ. I heard about this place and wanted to stop try them out. Happy I did. First off...the prices are a bit on the pricy side but overall, the meat is really good. The staff was great! Very friendly! They even informed me of their anniversary special of a free link...nice. Once I got home to try (we got the bucket of tips and a bucket of fries), the meat was DELICIOUS! It was so tinder and flavorful....smoky. OoooH so good. Now the fries, on the other hand, were gross. Best ribs in the area! We usually get a rack or the tips. The ribs are crunchy on the outside and fall off the bone soft on the inside. Usually I don't like tips because they're never good, but not at rib brothers! So the first time I patronized this establishment it was AMAZING!!! The wait time was a little long BUT the food was fresh & worth it. The ribs & tips were meaty & flavorful. I eat my bbq without sauce...so you can really taste the flavor. The meat was well seasoned & slow cooked. The fried wings were also well season & perfectly cooked. I did nothing but rave about this food and highly recommended it to everyone. (By the way...I'm a "food snob" so those I spoke to knew that it had to be worth a trip.) Now let's roll forward to 5/24...I AM SOOOOOO TICKED OFF!!!!! First of all it is a 40 minute commute for me to get to this place. Secondly, after my 1st visit I had HIGH EXPECTATIONS! I went for lunch. I ordered a large tip/wing combo. This time something said "Let them put sauce on everything". Boyyyyy was I glad I listened to the voice. The wings were barely done, the breading was not crisp & crunchy they gave resistance when pulled apart. The tips tasted rewarmed. The sauce helped to make them more palatable. I noticed I didn't see the owner, like last time, so I don't know if that's why my experience was so different. However, I think I'll call ahead next time to see if he's there first.
