Stopped in the 95th street location with friends. We shared an 8 peice mixed fried chicken bucket. It is primarily carry out, so only a counter with a few seats for dining in. We made is work. I saw three employees working, in total. When I placed my order, I was told 25 minute wait. There were already people waiting for orders, and we were not in a hurry, so no problem. Our order came up after about 25 minutes, and the chicken was hot, crispy, and moist. It was exactly how I wanted it to be. We ate onsite, so that may have helped. I am a Chicagoan, born and raised. I am not a Harold's fan, and before you assume I have never had Uncle Remy at all. Harold's I have had in the past have been flavorless and needed the sauce to give it any hint of flavor. I know Harold lovers say you have to order it with salt and pepper. If I have to go into a restaurant and ask them to salt and pepper my food I know that's not a place for me. This Harold's chicken wings were perfectly cooked and seasoned without the need for any additional instructions. That's great. First and foremost, I seen someone review this place on Facebook. They advertised a buy one get one free 6 wing, which is initially why I came in. Not once was it mentioned that it is only honored on weekdays but no biggie, I already made it there so I ordered. I noted, the place smelled of sewage, someone else noted it too. Huge turn off, I said to myself I wouldn't be back due to that alone. Food didn't take long, no more than 15 minutes. I asked for a 6 wing *fried hard* lemon pepper and mild sauce. I'm pretty fair, so I will say it was seasoned well; however, wings were NOT fried hard-- they were actually soggy. Barely any mild sauce, mostly on the fries, virtually none on the chicken. Even the bread was stale. Overall, not worth it. Take the extra trip to 91st and Ashland or on Sangamon. Note: it's not owned by AA which I wish would have known beforehand. Tried the new location and was a little disappointed. Wings had just a drizzle of mild sauce. One of the wings literally only had a drop of sauce. Fries seemed a little undercooked. Wings were a little overcooked but I like them like that so no complaints there. New location so probably new cooks and staff. Will give them a few months or so before thinking of returning. I requested that my order be ready for pickup on 12/25/25 at noon when I got there, my order not found, I was told it will take 15 mins. to drop the chicken in and cook it. Absolutely terrible. If there was an option to rate this place A zero I certainly would. It was as if a regular trained staff had walked off the job and a bunch of people came in to run the place because they had no idea what they were doing. I believe this location is relatively new but that should not be a reason for such Poor Service and food. I had never been to a Harolds and was looking forward to it. What we ended up with was comically soggy French fries, over breaded and overcooked and therefore dried out chicken which was borderline uneatable. Oh and the coleslaw looked like a container of soup. This location is obviously a franchise, but apparently the parent company four goes any formal training. Warm Service, Good Chicken, Room for Improvement I had a very warm welcome as soon as I walked in the door at Harold's Chicken on 4709 West 95th Street, Oak lawn, IL. The lady at the counter was so kind (possibly the owner), and I let her know upfront that I hadn't had great experiences at other Harold's locations. She assured me, and the service definitely stood out here. The chicken was cooked to order, which I really appreciate. The staff was also very attentive while I was there, I saw the cook bring out samples for another customer so she could see what her order would look like before deciding. That was such a nice touch that you rarely see anymore, and it showed genuine customer care. The facility was clean, and the people were professional and welcoming. My only critique is that the gizzards were cooked a little harder than I like and could've used more seasoning. The fries also tasted like the oil may have needed to be changed. That said, I may have just caught them before a fresh batch. Overall, the kindness, cleanliness, and made-to-order chicken make this Harold's worth another try. Second time going and again Messed up my order and never gave me my extra mild sauce .

Just left this place , and it's a hard nooooooo for me!!! Different owners that tried to mimic the original Harold's chicken recipe. Don't be fooled. The chicken was overcooked and doesn't even look or taste the same. Too heavy on the salt, seasonings and stingy with the mild sauce. Fries were also under cooked. This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had. The first time I called my order in, they were switching shifts and left my food sitting on the counter completely exposed. Even after I told the cashier the order was mine, she ignored me and continued assisting everyone else in the store while my food sat out getting cold. They claimed to remake the food, but it was still terrible. I decided to give them another chance and returned three days later. I called in the order again and asked if it was ready. The employee said yes and that he was preparing it. I then watched an Indian employee grab my order and hand it to another customer without even checking the ticket. Instead of admitting the mistake, they tried to tell me my order wasn't ready. Unfortunately for them, I heard the cook say he had already given it away. The man in the front eventually admitted the error. Overall, the service is careless and unprofessional. It's disappointing to see this level of disrespect and lack of attention to detail, especially at a Harold's that primarily serves African American customers. I won't be returning. read more

I knew something was not right when I got my order. I've been eating Harolds chicken for 40 plus years.i can smell it a mile away that sweet, tart irresistible flavor was missing. Then I opened my order and tasted it. I was highly disappointed no Harold sauce. Seems this establishment is using regular hot sauce and generic mild sauce. Went in a second time on 11/29 for the BOGO 6 piece wing special. This time the one slice of bread and the tiny cup of Cole slaw is not included which is very chincy and disappointing. After placing my order I returned to the cashier and asked for an extra cup of bbq sauce as they were very dry the first time I had ordered them a week before. The girl was very polite and agreed but the manager/owner overheard and berated her in front of me ordering her to charge me for them. I paid the extra charge 90 cents but there was no need for this woman with a major chip on her shoulder and poor attitude to behave so poorly and unprofessional. This nasty woman should be working in the kitchen and not dealing with the public as she has zero people skills. I will not be returning to this location.
