    Cornbread

We visited this BBQ spot to celebrate my cousin's birthday, and it ended up being such a great experience! The restaurant is tucked away in a neighborhood and feels like it was once a family home that has been transformed into a cozy restaurant. From the moment we walked in, it had a welcoming, homey atmosphere that made us feel comfortable right away. They start every meal with complimentary cornbread, and it was absolutely delicious warm, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off our meal. The food was satisfying, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you receive. One of the things we loved most was the ambiance. On Saturdays, they have a live band, which adds so much charm and energy to the experience. They also offer al fresco dining, making it a wonderful place to enjoy a meal outdoors with family and friends. To make the celebration even sweeter, the staff surprised my cousin with ice cream for her birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch and made her feel special. If you're looking for delicious BBQ, a relaxed atmosphere, live music, and friendly service, this hidden gem is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back!

This is $70 worth of ribs. Won't be ever going back again!!!

We just ordered 2 racks ribs. For $70! These are the smallest racks of ribs I have ever seen. Along with probably the worst ribs I have ever eaten. They were so dry my family didn't want them. So many better rib places in the valley. Tried this because of the reviews. I think all the reviews are either family or close friends. Beware!!!! Won't ever go back again!

Burned bread and old tritip meat. Skimped portion compared to my friend sitting across from me.

We went for our 5 year anniversary as best friends and the host congratulated us. Our waitress Emily was so sweet, we got many compliments and they just do their best to actually converse with their patrons, I loved it. The food was beyond my expectations. It's been around a year since I've been here so there were slight menu changes, but in ALL positive ways! Entree size is perfect, you'll probably leave with some leftovers. The food compliments every ingredient with every seasoning so well. I would say it's a place where you should put in effort to look nice, but still somewhere you can relax and have a chill moment with your loved ones. The music isn't too loud and conversations are flowing amongst guests.

Happy hour is offered 3-6 pm everyday in their lounge, bar, and patio, so make sure you let them know you're there for happy hour. I'm obsessed with Canadian bellinis, so I was super excited to try the bellini here. If you're not familiar with the Canadian version of the bellini, it's essentially a peach slushie with rum. Normally it goes for $17 but during happy hour they offer it for $13, which isn't bad. I loved my bellini. It tastes just like what I remember. Would recommend for anyone who likes alcoholic slushies! It was a hot day out, so it was a good way to cool down. My friend got the Supernova vodka soda, which is a vodka-based cocktail with lemon/lime flavors. This was okay, but he was expecting a full on slushie drink like mine and was disappointed when there was only a small amount of slushie mixed in. Also, I'm not sure what happened, but as I'm writing this review and looking at my receipt, I noticed that our server charged us regular price for his drink rather than happy hour pricing. We also shared the roasted corn guacamole for $11.50, which was delicious! We had dinner plans after so we didn't get anything else, but I was impressed with what I tried. Would love to come back some time for a special occasion!

Paris, our server, was an absolute ray of sunshine. We decided to share a variety of dishes, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. I don't eat meat, but my fellow diners could not stop talking about the Braised Short Rib Rolled Lasagna. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was completely over the top in the best possible way. If you told me to come back and order nothing but the eggplant and a martini, I'd happily call that dinner. What really stood out beyond the food was the pacing. Dishes arrived at just the right rhythm, the cocktails were excellent, and the playlist somehow added to the atmosphere without competing with the conversation. I took photos of everything, which should tell you how beautiful the food was, but the best part was simply having a genuinely fun evening with friends. Great food, great service, and a restaurant I'll absolutely be back to.

This time was at the relaxing back patio upstairs. They have a big menu with a lot of good items. We decided on vodka pasta, charred octopus and beet salad as appetizers. For mains we had chef's special prime rib and whole branzino, also truffle fries as side. For desserts we had tiramisu and sorbet. They make very good Vesper martinis here, the mocktail I tried wasn't great though. The service was excellent and very fast. Opted for the latter to celebrate my sister's birthday. They had some giant fans but they weren't doing much help. We put some drinks in and got 2 ridiculously expensive tiny hamachi crudo plates. Then all of a sudden the fans stopped working. Our waiter informed us that there was no power in the entire restaurant inside or out. Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldnt places like these have back-up generators just in case? Shortly thereafter he came and told us LADWP would arrive in 1 hour which literally means 2 to 3 hours minimum so instead of having our dinner for breakfast we asked to close out our bill (which should have been comped but they did not even deduct anything for the tremendous inconvenience), after just two plates of Hamachi Crudo and four drinks. The bill was presented to me and I figured there's no way all of this costs $240 I said I want to see an itemized receipt they came back with a $160 bill so more shady shit thrown to the shade. Very grudgingly paid but just wanted to get the fuck out of there we went to Il Fornaio nearby and had a lovely meal and service, to salvage my poor sister's birthday. Needless to say but I will, the easiest one and done in my life and I've had quite a bit if you read my reviews. Inexcusable ridiculousness and zero compensation. It was complete chaos as people were canceling and left and right and more people were flooding in as the reservations backed up I hope God helped them through the night. It's one thing to lose power unfortunate yes, but to not have a backup generator and then not even take care/compensate your customers is an abysmal excuse for management and a restaurant.

I looked over the menu ahead of time and was set on what I wanted but it was unfortunately an old menu and the item I wanted wasn't available anymore. I ended up getting just a margherita pizza for myself which I ended up being too full to eat because we filled up on the appetizers: spinach and artichoke dip and burrata which were both fantastic. The others got the hot chicken sandwich and french dip which they also really enjoyed. After we finished eating, it did take a while for the staff to come back around and get us boxes and the check. We also asked for more of the chocolate sticks they give you at the end but the lady who we asked just looked at an empty tin and said they were out which we were sure they had more for other guests somewhere. Overall still a great spot and would love to come back and try their other menu items. Definitely a rare find inside this department! IG: @ammysalamii
