Plenty of parking and when you walk in you're greeted with friendly staff and the aroma of unbelievably delicious bbq! The restaurant is casual with cool western decor and spotlessly clean! Large screen TVs and we heard they have a karaoke night. I'm pretty sure if I showed up I'd be banned lol! Went to try their Big Texan Challenge (which is $95 to attempt as of writing this review, but you get your money's worth in food alone). During the gauntlet I got to sample their chicken, ribs, pulled pork, tri tip, hot links, BBQ beans, mashed potatoes, mac 'n cheese, and corn bread. They were all solid, but I was particularly impressed with the hot links and the chicken; they were so flavorful and juicy. Another thing worth noting is their spicy BBQ sauce: any respectful BBQ place must have a good BBQ recipe to call their own, and All American's spicy BBQ really stands out. It has a sweet and subtle spice, with a distinct hint of booze; I could drink the stuff. There is ample seating inside or outside, with a low noise level. Sit outside to enjoy the delicious smell of burning meat a few feet away from you. Service was quick and friendly, not only did they deliver our food quickly, but they stuck around during my near hour-long attempt at the challenge, offering conversation and encouragement, and even some tips after I tapped out at the end. We decided to give our new local bbq place a try, yesterday and we were less than impressed. We ordered our food online directly through the restaurant for pickup. We ordered the tri-tip plate with a Caesar salad and beans, the tri-tip sandwich with coleslaw, a kid's hotdog meal (which comes with fries, no option to change the side), a hot link, and an order of garlic bread. TRI-TIP PLATE: the tri-tip was over-seasoned and spicy (too much dry rub), the BBQ sauce is SO GOOD - on the sweet side, which I love! It really helped balance the spicy dry rub for me. Now, I made the mistake of selecting a side salad AND beans... the meals include 2 sides OR 1 side salad. The owner contacted us to ask if we wanted to switch to something else, or pay for a side of beans. We were charged $6 for a side of beans (1/2 pint); I'm not sure if this would have been the same size included with my meal, but it was way more than I was wanting (or expecting). The beans were just ok, smoky, a bit watery, and not at all sweet, which is what I was hoping for. The side Caesar was fine, fresh lettuce, crunchy seasoned croutons, and grated Parmesan with a tart dressing. This meal ended up being $25.25 with the beans. TRI-TIP SANDWICH: the meat was tender, medium rare (as requested). We added extra meat ($4), cheese ($1), pickles, bbq sauce, and grilled onions which were great. It was on a French roll which tasted fresh. The coleslaw was overly peppery, not sweet, and needed salt. This meal was $22.25. KID'S HOTDOG: we ordered this cooked medium rare so it wouldn't be overdone. It included lots of fries, but I think it would be nice to offer other options for sides. My 3 year old son woke up at 3am VOMITING... I'm not sure if it's related, but it seemed coincidental. HOT LINK: good, but a little dry. Spicy and a bit sweet. Not $8 good. GARLIC BREAD: we ordered a 6 piece garlic bread... it was 6 halves of the French bread rolls (like the ones used for the sandwiches). The bread tasted fresh and had good flavor. I do think $14 is a bit much to charge for it, however. Parking: plenty of parking in the lot directly outside of the restaurant. Inside: newly renovated, but some of the tables for dining looked like a makeshift office with a computer & paperwork. We REALLY want this place to do well. My wife kept telling me that this place was awful and not to go. She went out of town so I decided I'm going to go ahead and try this. Being from Texas I'm really really big into bbq and TENDER meat. As I'm waiting. I see power cords stretched across the wall to a tv. Another massive tv in the back of the restaurant is leaning against the wall not plugged in. I turn and look at them making my food. And they took it out of some container and went to reheat it on the grill. Wtf? What in the actual fuck? Reheating pork ribs on a stove top dries them out and makes them very dense. Tritip went out of a container as well and on the the grill top also. Reheated. Ok I thought maybe it was a quick reheat and made that day. Could have been the possibility. So I get him. (I live 30 seconds away driving so it's not like it got cold or anything. The food WAS still hot when I ate it. Like very hot. I get home. Open my carry out and I'm very very disappointed at what I see. The mashed potato's look not fresh and more like the just add water ones. The "gravy is a greenish brown. Not "American BBQ brown gravy". The Mac n cheese tasted awful. Not even a Mac n cheese flavor. It was some "fancy noodle" not macaroni. Had some weird red herb or seasoning on it too. Mac n cheese is hard to mess up and boy they went out of their way to do it. Now on to the entree. The ribs. Not cooked today. Absolutely without a doubt at least one, if not 2-3 days old. Barely any meat on them. Not tender not good ribs. By any standard. The tri tip was somewhere between dry and some of the bbq sauce is making it tender. There is no fucking way this place was voted best in the valley. I am about 62% sure it's a front now because I now know why there is virtually zero traffic in and out of that place. Any 5 star review on here is one of two things. Bought and solicited or by someone who knows nothing about good bbq. The ONLY way this place was ever voted best bbq in the valley is if there was no other bbq joint.
