This Los Angeles Wagyu burger shop has been on my list for ages! I've been drooling over photos and reviews of their 100% grass fed Wagyu burgers and their collab with Willie Mae's for the honey glaze fried chicken tenders. I stopped by the new Calabasas location right at opening (a small line was already forming, so get there early to beat the rush) and placed my order. The staff was friendly, the energy was buzzing, and the food came out pretty quickly. Everything tasted fresh, as the burger was juicy, and the chicken tenders were crispy and hot. Here's what I got: HiHo Double Cheeseburger: cheese, ketchup, slow cooked onions, lettuce, house made pickles on the side, and mustard grilled. This burger was insane. Seriously lives up to the hype and was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Totally get why people have been lining up to try this 100% grass fed Wagyu burger. I'd give it a 9/10. Willie Mae Chicken Tenders: These are elite chicken strips. That batter?! Thick, extra crispy, and perfectly golden. Honey glazed with juicy white meat inside so it was flavorful. They come with a special matty sauce, but honestly, I was all about their house made ranch...definitely grab a few. One of the best chicken strips I've had in awhile if you love a crunchy batter. 10/10. The Calabasas Commons has really been getting a glow up with all these new spots, and HiHo is a great addition. Definitely one to add to your list.

Came here on a Saturday evening, and there was already a line outside the door. It took us about 15 minutes just to place our order, then another 30 minutes to get our food. We decided to try this location because whenever we go to the Santa Monica location, we're usually in and out pretty quickly. Our original plan was to dine in, or in this case sit outside since there's no indoor seating but after waiting so long to order and then finding out there would be an additional wait for a table, we ended up just eating in the car instead, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, the food at this location was just okay. We ordered the Matty Double (made spicy for an extra $1.95), the honey spicy chicken tenders, and fries. The tenders weren't spicy at all and were cold by the time we got them. The fries were also disappointing, it looked like we got the leftover crumbs from the bottom of the bag. I understand this place is on the pricier side for burgers because you're paying for quality, but in this case, I don't think the quality matched the price. I know this location recently opened, so I understand they're still adjusting, but it's unfortunate that the quality and consistency aren't the same as the other locations. If this had been someone's first time trying this place, waiting over 30 minutes for food that was only okay might make them not want to come back. I've had great experiences at the Santa Monica location the staff is always friendly, and the food always comes out hot and fresh. Unfortunately, this location still has some improvements to make.

The burger was good and all the veggies were fresh. I skipped the bun and had it over a bed of lettuce. I asked for dressing and they said it would be $2 extra which is a bit silly. So I just skipped it. The fries were undercooked IMO. I prefer them with some crunch. I also tried their house lemonade. It comes in a plastic bottle. I guess I just pictured it being made on site. It was okay. There is a Cheesesteaks by Matu opening next door and I will probably try that instead next time.

I have to say... this place lives up to the expectations in my book. The price point and the quality of the food is a bargain in this high inflation climate we are currently in. The burger you would think be heavy in the belly but it feels like I had a salad for lunch on how light it is and no icky feeling once done like you do when you eat at other burger places. BUT my favorite thing are the fries!!! Yum yum yum. Just be mentally prepared to wait in line for a bit in the sun. It's all worth it.

Solid spot for a casual burger. The burgers themselves were good, but the buns were a bit too soft and not toasted, which took away from the overall texture. Fries were tasty, though I wish they had a bit more crisp to them. The Willie Mae's Honey Tenders were a standout, really flavorful and well done. Oh, the banana pudding was super delicious. It's a bit on the pricier side but overall worth it. Can't wait for the Matu Cheesesteaks!!

Visited HiHo Cheeseburger in Calabasas on their second day open -- wanted to love it, but left a little disappointed. We ordered the Triple Classic, the Hi-Ho Double, a side of fries, and a vanilla shake. The fries were decent but noticeably under-salted. The buns are actually good quality, but unfortunately they were completely soggy -- likely from the meat, which was strangely wet. It made the burgers hard to eat and really took away from the experience. The Triple Classic was a letdown -- with three patties you'd expect to actually taste the cheese, but there wasn't nearly enough of it. The burgers are also on the smaller side for the price point, which felt a bit off. The vanilla shake was probably the biggest miss. For what they charge, we got what felt like a kids-size portion, and the flavor honestly wasn't much better than a fast food shake. One thing that caught us off guard: a mandatory 6% "operating cost" fee tacked onto the bill. Yes they state it but if these are just the costs of running a restaurant, why not build them into the menu prices like every other place? It feels a bit deceptive -- especially since they make a point of advertising a no-tipping policy. A mandatory fee by another name is still a tip.

Paris, our server, was an absolute ray of sunshine. We decided to share a variety of dishes, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. I don't eat meat, but my fellow diners could not stop talking about the Braised Short Rib Rolled Lasagna. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was completely over the top in the best possible way. If you told me to come back and order nothing but the eggplant and a martini, I'd happily call that dinner. What really stood out beyond the food was the pacing. Dishes arrived at just the right rhythm, the cocktails were excellent, and the playlist somehow added to the atmosphere without competing with the conversation. I took photos of everything, which should tell you how beautiful the food was, but the best part was simply having a genuinely fun evening with friends. Great food, great service, and a restaurant I'll absolutely be back to.

($18 - Hangar 1 Mandarin Blossom Vodka, cold-pressed pineapple juice, fresh raspberry purée, lime juice fresh mint topper). I'm not a big drinker and am a fan of drinks that you can't really taste the alcohol and this was great. It was a fun to drink and was refreshing. For our entree my friend had the Fish & Chips. ($27 - Crispy haddock fillet, sea salt fries, tartar sauce, grilled lemon). I tried a piece of her fish and it was thinly battered, soft, and flavorful. I usually try to stay away from fried fish like this just because places use way too much better or the fish gets super oily but they was not the case with their fish & chips. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I had the 4 piece Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. ($34 - Fresh ahi, dynamite sauce, wasabi tobiko, togarashi, toasted sesame). Oh my goodness was this delicious. This is usually something you'd eat as an appetizer but eating it alone is a meal in itself. Yes, it's pricey BUT it is totally worth it. Saint & Second is an upscale dining experience. Their food delivers to that level as well. I highly recommend if you're looking for a new date night spot or something intimate with friends. You can really taste the freshness of all the ingredients they use.

However, in my two most recent visits, only the atmosphere has remained a highlight -- the service has declined significantly. My most recent visit was two nights ago, on Father's Day, for a celebratory dinner. Our server was curt and unwelcoming throughout the meal. When my glass of wine arrived, the server suggested I taste it first -- which I did -- and it was immediately apparent that the wine had turned. Having ordered the same wine many times before without issue, I was confident this particular bottle was off. When I asked our server if the bartender could open a fresh bottle, she agreed without hesitation. However, moments later, a gentleman I assumed to be the manager approached and informed me that a new bottle would not be opened, as the current one had only been opened the day before and was, in his opinion, fine. His only alternative was to offer the same varietal at a higher price point. I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding open bottles, but in all my years of dining out, I have never encountered an establishment that refused to replace a glass of wine a guest found unacceptable -- especially when the server herself had encouraged me to taste it for that very reason. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and unfortunately I will neither return nor recommend this restaurant going forward.

Wow. To be honest the service was never good at this location but the food is good but for sure…read moreover priced. But today the service tipped me over and put both me and my boyfriend in a bad mood. First, at check in the lady who sits people does not have voice to yell out people's names, she said my name very quietly that we didn't hear I don't think anyone would, luckily a man standing and watching waiting for his table told the girl that were there pointing at us because she was already putting the menus down thinking we're not there. You usually say the name at least twice or at least loud enough so people could hear. Second, we got sat at disabled table, not sure why when there were other available options. Lastly, I understand it was a bit packed but we waited 15 mins and then a "waiter" shows up, ask "how is it going?" I said hi how are you, he continues to grab our coasters, and goes "just saying hi" excuse me?? Did not ask if we want drinks or anything!! For a place that's advertised as a high end EXPENSIVE restaurant that is not the way to talk to customers because he didn't say anything after so in this awkward silence I go "im just going to have the chocolate cake please" which he responded to in weird manner that's unwelcoming at all "oh okay then just chocolate cake it is " or something along those lines. Takes everything off the table not even offering water and takes our glasses away. He seemed salty for sure. Very rude if you ask me. Got the cake 20 mins later. NEVER checked in on us after. Mind you there are always so many servers there and all they do is talk to each other and not check in or make sure the customers are satisfied. Usually I try to ignore their service but "just saying hi" is flat out disrespectful and unprofessional. So if you're the manager or the hiring team, please hire people who know how to provide a good customer experience and are professional or at least train them. Hire people for the front who aren't rude or have attitude because most of the time they have a nasty attitude like they're doing me a favor by checking me in. Today the lady was fine. I really hope that next time it will be better and based on other negative reviews I'm not the only one who has an issue with the staffs attitudes towards people so maybe it should be fixed otherwise I wouldn't go here if you're expecting a good service or good vibes.

First, parking is rough. And by rough, I mean practically nonexistent. If valet is available, use it. If valet is full, good luck finding a spot nearby. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside and has a great atmosphere for watching a game. The place was packed, but our server was outstanding. Given the crowd, especially during the World Cup match, the service was impressive and easily one of the highlights of the evening. The drink menu offers a large selection of beers and spirits. The cocktails were decent, though nothing particularly memorable. As for the food, it was mostly average. The pork belly tasted more like carnitas, which wasn't necessarily bad, just not what I expected. The cheese balls received mixed reviews at our table. I thought they could have used a little more seasoning, but I was in the minority on that one. The crab cakes were small and, for me, lacked the most important ingredient--crab. Opinions were split at the table, but they didn't work for me. The house chips had a nice texture, although the frying oil tasted like it may have been due for a change. The smash burger was decent but nothing special. The steak frites were okay; I believe it was hanger steak, so take that for what it's worth. The shredded beef sliders were also just okay. Overall, I'd definitely return if I was in the area to watch a game and have a few drinks. The atmosphere and service make it worth a visit. However, if food is your primary reason for going, there are better options nearby.
