The Rib Room is easily one of the best spots in New Orleans for a great steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, and they have an excellent wine selection to go with it. Their COOLinary menu right now is definitely worth checking out, especially if you want to experience the restaurant at a great value. And the Banana Foster cookie butter ice cream sandwich? DIVINE. Seriously, save room for dessert. Great food, wine, and atmosphere. Definitely a New Orleans favorite!

After my first night out in New Orleans, I needed some room service. Little did I know it was going to be incredible. The room service menu for the Omni hotel was for The Rib Room, and I ordered in the morning by hotel operator. It arrived in about 40 minutes The prime rib hash was delicious, the beef was so tender and flavorful and the veggies were cooked perfectly. The creamy grits shocked me. They were the best grits I have had in my life, I am so happy I ordered them. This meal revived me. Incredible, highly recommend this breakfast.

Blitzens Holiday Pop Up not typical rib room material here: We noticed the gorgeous holiday décor the night before from our balcony table at Royal House Oyster Bar and decided to pop in before our Mr. B's Bistro reservation on Thanksgiving Day around 5pm for a quick Christmas happy hour treat. We lucked out and snagged the last two seats at what turned out to be Blitzen's Christmas pop up bar! The host was incredibly kind and proactive, she even asked a gentleman if he was using a nearby stool so we could sit. You don't always see that level of care for bar guests, and she did the same for the couple after us, which really impressed us. Charlotte was our server, and she was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of the festive menu. She handed us the elaborate Blitzen drink list, and she made what my boyfriend said was the best Old Fashioned he has ever had, they called it The Blitzen. My drink was beautiful, and even our waters came with Christmas straws, which I loved. Next time, I think I'll go for the Va Va Vixen instead of the Sleigh Ride, but everything was wonderfully themed. We actually tried to return after dinner, but they had already wrapped up last call before 10pm. Still, our first visit was such a fun and cozy holiday surprise. Highly recommend if you're looking for festive cocktails and warm, attentive service!

Rene took great care of us. Dinner starts off with loafs of freshly baked bread and butter. The restaurant is a refreshing spot to runaway from bourbon street. Lovely decor and beautiful chandelier. The petit steak was great. The truffle Mac & cheese was hands down my favorite.

Came here December 26, 2025. Everything from start to finish about our experience was outstanding! The convenience of booking our reservation online made planning our evening seamless! My fiancé and I came here after enjoying the Christmas lights in City Park, and although we arrived earlier than our reservation time (8:30), they were able to seat us right away. The lighting and ambiance was very nice, and our servers were attentive and friendly. We both ordered the prime rib, pomme puree and creamed spinach, and every dish was phenomenal! The Prime rib had a delicious, flavorful crust that was cooked to perfection, the au jus and horseradish paired perfectly with it! The potatoes and spinach were also wonderful. After we closed out our bill, we headed over to their cocktail bar and enjoyed their Christmas themed menu, and our drinks were strong and delicious! Our bartenders were amazing too! We loved celebrating our new engagement with a special meal and a memorable experience here! I also appreciated the live music and singer!

Lovely time at the Rib Room in the beautiful Omni Royal Hotel. I really enjoyed the ambience and the architecture of the entire building. The food was fabulous. The service was great and it was just a fabulous meal all around. We really wanted prime rib and we definitely got our craving satisfied.

We decided to give Blitzens Bar another chance this Holiday season as our experience last year wasn't the best. This time, the bar seemed to be running a lot more smoothly even with a big crowd. The drinks were expertly crafted and I am going back for that martini before the holiday menu ends on Jan 4th. Holiday vibes were great!

I am local and in new orleans for 8 years, been to many great restaurants, local, forbes star, michelin star restaurant even steak house always with my friends and got accomodated with my vegetarian diet since i am vegetarian and i understand i don't have too many choices but expect 1 entree as vegetarian. Since as a casual/fine dinning restaurant that is a standard which every restaurant must have or should offer. I have been in hospitality industry for too long worked with some high end restaurants and hotels. Went on friday 12th around 9:15 as a walkin it was my friends birthday and he was hungry and he does eat steak got greated by Hostess and they even sang happy birthday for my friend and that was very impressive and i thought we are having a very good start. Got sat and greeted by a lady waiter and i asked her about the menu revillion if they have any vegetarian choice she said no and did not have enough knowledge about menu as she was reading the menu infront of us. I asked her if i can order a la carte vegetarian any appetizer+ soup/salad+ maincourse she was lost and tells me which i have never heard in my life waitress said to me" IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO COME TO RIB ROOM" me and my friend was shocked that she just said that. I ignored and we ordered two cocktails my friend ordered turtle soup and i ordered fried green tomato as a veg appetizer it came out on time but served with pork belly when it arrived the waitress said " i'm sorry i forgot to tell you that it comes with meat" sent back came out later after my friend finished his turtle soup and came out plain no sauce nothing, worst fried green tomato ever had as i am from here and i had it in many place. She din't even bother to check with kitchen if they can make any sauted veggies or any entree while i can see they have side pasta, veg and cream spinach and for me money is never a issue i can even pay $50 if any restaurant can make any maincourse for me. My friend ordered NY STRIP and i ordered broccolini and side truffle mac and cheese. Food was amazing i liked the sides my friend enjoyed the steak but it does not come with any sides. . At 10:15 i asked for dessert menu she said "we do not have much to offer on dessert we only have cheese cake and kitchen is close anyways" while i can see other tables are getting all fancy dessert and i have seen dessert menu online too before i came. Our experience was horrible and my friend was upset too he felt bad for me that i couldn't eat anything i always order 4 round of drinks with my app, salad/soup, mains and dessert but decided not to order anything from here anymore as it clearly shows waitress don't care about her job neither the sales of the restaurant. I meet lot of people specially foodies and i would never recommend anyone to come to this restaurant.

    Fried oyster deviled eggs

We returned to see what was new at the Rib Room. We sat at the bar, and after taking a quick glance at the appetizers, I immediately decided on the fried oyster deviled eggs and a glass of chardonnay to go along with it. I understand that I can get pretty excited over food, but I cannot stop thinking about these deviled eggs. The cajun fried oysters had the perfect crunch with a tender center, neatly packed on top of the deviled eggs with pickled peppers. A nice surprise was the band playing near the bar. The gentleman on the upright double bass goes by Sugar Bear! Eric Robinson was on the electric and acoustic guitar. All of their instruments were beautifully crafted. I am sorry that I didn't get the drummer's name. Rib Room is located on the main level of Omni Royal. As a guest of Omni, you will benefit from free drink tickets to use at Rib Room which is nice. We have yet to dine in for an entree and unsure why not, especially since the menu has yet to disappoint. Next time.

From the time that we walked in the service was superior. The hostess remembered us from when we walked by to look at the menu earlier in the day. The staff was very attentive and kept the drinks and water filled and checked in on us regularly. The food... amazing... the had fresh bread warm and so soft and we settled on a Caesar salad prime rib end cut, loaded baked potato and the garlic broccoli. Everything was cooked perfectly, great flavor, and presentation was spot on. I recommend this place if looking for a non New Orleans traditional meal.

Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel special. And the FOOD! We definitely came hungry and tried a little bit of everything. The Tomato Celebration was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. The dry-aged steak was cooked beautifully--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Brussels sprouts were another favorite: perfectly crispy and a great side to the steak. Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert, so we tried both the Bonaparte and Kadaif Nest. Both were beautifully presented and a perfect ending to an already amazing dinner. Between the food, service, gorgeous interior, and overall ambiance, Doris Metropolitan delivered the complete dining experience. It's definitely on the pricier side, but for a special dinner in New Orleans, it's worth it. Great food + great service + great atmosphere = an easy 5 stars. Would absolutely return!

Overall, the experience was average and did not fully meet those expectations. The charcuterie and cheese board, priced at $68, was underwhelming in both portion size and value. It included only six thin slices of cured meat and a small selection of cheeses. Unfortunately, one of the cheeses had an unpleasant flavor that made it inedible for our table. The bread service was a highlight, offering a nice variety of breads and accompaniments. The ribeye was cooked well and enjoyable, but it did not stand out from what I've experienced at other upscale steakhouses. The five-cheese couscous was the biggest disappointment, as it lacked the rich, flavorful profile its description suggested. While the service and presentation were appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the high expectations or the price point.

We got there a little before they opened but since it was raining they let us in and we waited off the side until they officially opened. Let me start by saying the restaurant is gorgeous! The ambience was grown and sexy and definitely gave fine dining. The waitress was pleasant and gave recommendations because I had no idea what to get. We got the bread to start and OMG that bread was delicious! It was buttery, with a honey flavor and 2 spreads to use. I wanted to eat it all but knew I had to eat an actual dish lol. My husband and I shared a small plate-the wagyu tacos. Lets just say I woke up thinking about those tacos I ordered a medium prime rib eye & my husband ordered a medium rare filet. His filet was perfect but my ribeye was overcooked. They made me a new one with no problem & were very apologetic. The new steak was more medium rare than medium but I still ate it and it was good but fatty. We shared the seafood mac & cheese which we both agreed was the best we had ever had. It was a huge portion so we ended up taking some home (didnt last very long after getting home). Lastly, we ordered the praline crème brûlée....another thing I woke up thinking about Im already thinking about the next time! 10 out of 10!

The butter was that perfect whipped butter that i could eat all day. Next up was a glass of wine that i really enjoyed throughout service. The meat came out and we ordered the porterhouse that fed a good amount of us. Aspargus was brought to the table as well as my baked potato. We had multiple servers, our drinks never ran dry, we had plenty of warm French bread and it didn't take long to get the food. I would not be able to eat a huge pile of these large onion rings or fries so the half and half is genius. I also tried the creamed spinach, which could use a tad bit more seasoning. The live music established a really nice ambiance. There were customers sitting around the piano having drinks while the musician was performing. It was an excellent Friday night experience. I also had the crab bisque. It was okay okay. The fifth star is because we left a gift bag outside of the restaurant and didn't think about it until dinner was over. Everything we ordered was delicious, and honestly, the food is the main reason I would consider giving Bon Ton another try. I also want to give credit to the host who greeted us. She was extremely friendly, professional, and genuinely tried her best to accommodate my party. The bad: The issue was management. I had a party of 13, and I understood that the restaurant could only seat 10 people at one table. I was told the other 3 guests would be seated at a separate table, and I was completely okay with that arrangement. However, Travis, the front manager, canceled the reservation for my 3 additional guests, so they were never seated. The host was trying her best to help us, but Travis was not very accommodating and made the situation much more difficult than it needed to be. I also asked to speak with a manager because I wanted to understand what happened with the table for my 3 guests. Tre was told that I wanted to speak with him, but he didn't come over when he finished with the table behind me. Instead, he went into the kitchen, came back out, and spoke with my friend instead of me. When he eventually spoke with me, I asked if he was the manager, and he told me no. He also gave me a different name. What makes this even more disappointing is that I wasn't approaching him to complain. I simply wanted to ask about the seating situation and find a solution for my guests. The interaction with management was unnecessary and took away from what should have been a special birthday dinner. I will say again that the food was good enough that I am willing to give Bon Ton another try. Hopefully, next time the service and management experience will match the quality of the food. Shoutout to the host for being kind and trying her best--you could tell she genuinely cared about helping us.

Already there she gave attitude and said I don't know how else to explain it to you in a rude tone. After we finished our food, we asked her to take multiple cards for the check and she told us to write on the back what to charge each card. I apologize that I did misunderstand what she meant, and put the items rather than the exact amount to charge each card. She came back and said, "you did exactly what I said not to do." So I said sorry and was in the midst of redoing it by calculating when she just snatched it from me and said she'll just do it. I had no problem doing it nor did we complain even once. We understood from the get go no split checks but then she gave the option of multiple cards so obviously we took it. The food was good and the ambience was nice. Galatoire's.....Galatoire's.....where do I start? It is perfection. Casey is our waiter when we…read morego to Galatoire's with our good friends. We enjoy this restaurant so much. It is it's own experience. Do yourself a favor and just reserve a table here. You will not regret it. And yes.......I thought serving fried eggplant sticks with powdered sugar was crazy town talk. Try it! It's a thing! Get marinara too like I did! No one can ever say that this restaurant is not well lit....;)

Great experience - as others have said, there is a dress code for the dining room that you need to…read morerespect - and they have the old school rack of jackets for men who don't have one. And if you can't / don't, they will politely take you to the attached bar area with no dress code. That being said, service in the dining room was excellent despite the busy evening (every table filled). Food was excellent, service was aces. It can be a little incongruent navigating the party jungle of Bourbon Street to get to this relatively quiet, nondescript front door, but once inside you are transported back in time to a gentler era and time of fine dining. We both selected creole-tilting seafood entrees (you can get a good steak just about anywhere) based upon our server's recommendations. He was spot on and everything we had that evening was tops. A definite go-to!
