After trying the dress on and showing her how much I needed hemmed, she sent me on my way / letting me know it would be $45 (which is a very reasonable price) and to come pick it up the next day at 10:30AM I get to her house the following day (the day I had to wear the dress) at 10:45, and ended up waiting outside for 45 mins, and called her 20x bc my calls kept getting sent to voicemail, until I had to leave. After an hour, she texts me saying asking if i had an appt with her lol, and ended up telling me that she was an hour away from home, and would let me know when she was home. She got home at 4:30PM (which was around the time i was getting ready) for my party was at 6, I obviously needed my dress so I picked it up 30 mins before. She did a good job, but the process of picking it up was too stressful and hectic.

When I arrived she quickly started pinning me, me and my future mother-in-law could tell she was very experienced. After she gave us the pricing, and I thought it was fair enough to move forward! I had called several times and left messages but she didn't respond to me until hours later saying she was busy with other appointments. Completely unprofessional, so don't go to Tyla's. I then went to Elizabeth's Tailoring. She does alterations out of her home. She's a very nice woman and super easy to work with. She was also way more affordable than Tyla's. Elizabeth's Tailoring charged me $400 for my dress alterations to have it hemmed (6 layers of skirt and tulle); taking it in on top and redesigning the top a little bit to fit me better, which included removing lace florals and sewing them back on; adding a bustle; altering the back to cover a little more skin; and steaming the dress. Tyla quoted me at $1000 to start, so this was much better. I came to her kind of late (a month to spare) and she got it done timely and beautifully. I was very happy with everything. Plus, she is just so nice and easy to work with and makes you feel comfortable.

I was obsessed with my wedding dress bustle! I planned my own wedding so I desperately needed a pocket and she made one so seamless that no one knew it was there. His only solution was to hand my child a bagged shirt that we don't even know will fit, as an alternative, with no alterations for it. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Especially if you have an important event that you NEED the clothes YOU already paid for and brought in! I have never received this level of customer service before from any tailor. I…read morebrought in two articles of clothing, a pair of overalls I wanted turned into shorts and a dress I wanted taken in and pockets to be added. The overalls look like a disaster! He make them shorts but he added darts to the legs. And the hem on the shorts were a disaster too. He sewed extra fabric and the hem wasn't pressed properly it was falling apart. The dress was a nightmare all he did was make darts all over the dress and and overcharge me for work my 9 year old could've done. The pockets were a joke. The material he used was cheap and he didn't even sew them correctly because they came undone while trying them on. The bottom line is he's lazy. If you want your clothes to be ruined and to be overcharged come her.
