Pre-Purchase Review On June 19th, I reached out to Ricart Chevrolet regarding a used 2022 Toyota Camry XSE V6. I've been looking for this vehicle for months but dealers were asking an arm and a leg for it, except for Ricart. With that being said, I jumped on this deal. I was quickly set up with a pre-owned sales representative named Roxanne Mullis. Roxanne understood that since I live 2 hours away, it was important for me to work out the finances of the vehicle first and quickly got to work on a "sight unseen" appraisal for my trade in. Despite their systems being down do to a technological event that affected over 15,000 dealers nationwide, about 5 hours later Roxanne was able to provide me with a trade in value and set me up the best she could with financing options. Given the circumstances, 5 hours is a great turn around time. I've had dealers take north of 2 days to get back to me for "sight unseen" appraisals since these appraisals aren't treated the same as someone walking in with their trade. Not at Ricart though. The number was lower than I liked but still not unreasonable. The trade in number they offered was about $500 higher than KBB - Fair book value, given most dealers insulted me at offers between $1,500 and $3,000 below fair market price, the amount Ricart offered was definitely the best I could've gotten. After appraising the trade, I filled out a credit application and proceeded to the next step in the buying process. Roxanne maintained full contact with me, not only by text message but by email aswell. By 8:30pm we had scheduled a time for me to drive to Columbus to pick up the car the next day. But wait.....there's more..... While on the way to pick up the car, Roxanne called me right as they opened and informed me that their systems are still down as a result of the CDK network attack and though they were able to process forms and transactions manually during the previous day, this would not be the case for today. She apologized greatly for having me turn around and wait for their systems to be restored but also reassured me that do to the nature of the situation our deal is safe and considered as pending. Therefore they promised the vehicle will not be sold. On June 21st, just 3 days after our initial contact, Roxanne messaged me and told me that though the systems are still down, they now have the ability to process transactions. She stated it may take a bit longer because they need to complete most of their tasks that have been digitized manually. But despite having to operate like dealerships did a decade ago, I was clear to close the deal and drive home with my new-to-me car. In-Store Purchase Review After traveling two hours to Columbus, I met with Roxanne who had the Camry detailed and ready for me to test drive while she finalized my appraisal numbers. Since I already knew this vehicle inside and out because of the research I did before making the trip. With the car only having 8,000 miles, it was practically a brand new car. After we filled out the paperwork and reviewed the Car Fax together, we took a trip to the finance department (which in this particular instance was located in their new car building). Financing went smoothly and efficiently aswell. I was given plenty of time to read and understand each piece of paper I was signing. The agent was also very knowledgeable and made sure I understood everything before advancing to a different form. Even during the upsells the process remained low pressure. I wasn't forced into anything that I didn't want (this was a major relief since usually dealers push hard on service contracts and additional addons). The agent was even able to transfer my registration over from my trade in to my new car! Overall, this was a great experience and I'll definitely be returning!

The ripped trash bag, greasy red rag on the seat, none of this was there when we took the car in.

We had car problems with our 2019 Buick while on vacation in Dublin. We broke down about a half mile from Ricart Buick so we had it towed there because our warranty would be covered there. Ricart promised us that they would work on the car in the morning, they even gave us a 8:30 am scheduled time for service. We hadn't heard anything by noon so we called to check on it. They hadn't looked at it yet. They said they would get it in the garage in the next hour or so. So we checked back about 3pm. They said they had called for a second tow truck to bring it into the bay. At about 4pm we went to get some stuff out of the car, to put in our rental. While we were there, the service manager told us it was the transmission, and it would take at least a week to fix. We live 2.5 hours away so they told us to go to the next place on our vacation. We asked if they thought there was any chance it would be done in one day because we could stay in Dublin another day to avoid many extra hours of driving. They told us the problem was transmission and it would be possibly a week or longer. We kept telling them that this meant we would have to drive an extra 5 hours. If it was possibly going to be fixed we would stay in Dublin an extra night. The service manager assured us that the problem was the transmission. Taking her word for it, we went to Cleveland. Soon after arriving in Cleveland they called us telling us the STARTER was fixed. So we had to make another trip to Dublin, because of their delay in looking at the car and improper initial diagnosis that it was the STARTER and not the transmission. Another pet peve of mine was that the huge mess they made on the floor and front seat. They ripped the garbage bag and through the garbage all over the floor, and the handicap tag and other papers all over the floor and seat. And a greasy nasty rag was left on the seat as well. If we could give them ZERO Stars, we would!

Showed up the morning we agreed on and went for a test drive. Over all the truck was as advertised. A couple very minor things were quickly resolved. A turn signal issue was discovered during the test drive . After discussing a few options on how to fix it, Germain said they would fix it. This ended up being a bigger issue than I'm sure everyone anticipated, it ended up requiring me several additional trips into the dealership and involved rental cars on multiple occasions for the extended time the truck stayed in not only Germains service but also an additional Ram dealership. Finally after weeks of trial and error and several more weeks of waiting for parts, the issue was correctly repaired. I endured no additional cost for this just as agreed upon at the time of sale. Logan (Lo) in service was my contact during this process and i was kept informed during this entire process. I cant say enough about how i was treated and that Germain stood by the agreement to resolve the situation. Thanks Lo, and all involed at Germain for all the work and dedication to taking care of this as was promised! Chad M

Darrell from the body shop- please answer my phone call for once!…read more My car has been in the shop for 3 weeks going on week 4 now after getting an estimate for a 5-7 day repair. The communication has been horrendous. Darrell never gives me updates or answers my calls or calls me back. I keep finding out from the front desk after calling numerous times to find out my pick-up date keeps getting pushed back by entire weeks but no one is telling me why. I usually have great experiences with Honda dealerships but this is the worst one I've ever been to. Avoid getting any repairs done here

Our recent experience with Tansky's service department, especially with Kirby, has convinced us to…read morestop using Tansky as our primary shop, despite being long-time customers. Two weeks ago, a possibly mold-related smell appeared in our 2015 Toyota Corolla with no warning. It was strongest when idle or entering the car and came from the A/C vents. It caused minor headaches and allergy-like symptoms, so we were concerned about health risks. We replaced cabin and engine air filters, checked for water spills, and cleaned the interior, but the smell persisted. At Tansky, Kirby advised a 'diagnosis and advise' service ($175.87), saying the cost would go toward future repairs if needed. Diagnostics weren't completed until the next morning, conflicting with a planned road trip, but we proceeded anyway. When we returned, Kirby explained very little and focused on upselling. He said the cause was undetermined, suggested HVAC Refresh/Internal Detailing might help, then pushed a $6,000+ front timing cover seal repair, unrelated to the issue. We had to leave the problem unresolved due to our trip. Kirby seemed surprised we only wanted to pay the diagnostic fee but said future service would be credited. We planned to revisit after the trip. Reviewing the invoice, the mechanic found no water intrusions but noticed stronger smells behind the glovebox after I had missed a step replacing the cabin filter. No root cause was identified. Kirby had not shared this, focusing instead on the timing seal, giving the impression he didn't understand the issue. The next Wednesday, we scheduled the recommended HVAC Refresh ($260.87). A different advisor was surprised the prior diagnostic was charged and not part of a multi-point inspection, then referred us to Kirby when we mentioned the diagnostic cost being credited towards the refresh. Kirby said the $175.87 diagnostic would not apply because it wasn't a "repair," despite previously promising it would credit toward fixing the original problem. He said diagnostic fees only counted toward a "bigger repair," despite not being able to reference anything specific. He also questioned why we hadn't done service at the earlier visit, forgetting our previous conversation, and then even tried to upsell an interior detailing service. We asked if the HVAC Refresh would resolve the smell/vapor issue. Kirby said full resolution might require extensive disassembly and deep cleaning down to bare metal costing thousands of dollars, even though no mold was confirmed, and long-term improvement wasn't guaranteed. We canceled the appointment. Kirby backtracked on promised diagnostic fee waivers, and we had no confidence they knew the appropriate repair. The issue was not thoroughly diagnosed, and we were repeatedly misled about costs and next steps. Kirby appeared forgetful and focused on unrelated add-ons. We remain concerned the smell could come from internal components like the fuel system or engine, or HVAC issues like a blocked A/C drain, none of which were investigated. The diagnostic confirmed only what we had already reported, yet we were charged for a time-intensive service, essentially they wanted us to paying twice+ for the same reported problem. We chose service at a Toyota dealership for peace of mind, but Tansky failed to identify or fix the issue, repeatedly tried to upsell (including a ~$6k repair), and only coincidentally noticed the glovebox smell. Their high labor fee didn't reflect actual work, leaving us to question the thoroughness of their checks. Overall, Tansky seemed focused on upselling rather than genuinely addressing the problem. Kirby did not inspire confidence, and we no longer feel comfortable bringing our car there. At this point, a $40 DIY A/C cleaning kit and a new service provider seem like the most practical solution.
