Don't let the outside appearance fool you. This place is a little gem! The pizza was SO good with the fresh basil. So many places don't put actual fresh basil on like they do. They even had complementary fresh garlic knots. Almost everywhere we go, they charge for a side of garlic knots. These were really good, and they even offered us another plate of garlic knots. We would have taken them up on it just to bring them home, but we were on the start of our anniversary vacation, so we wouldn't have had a way to take them. We had prompt, friendly service as well. Can I give it zero stars! Horrible service took over an hour to get our food. The clams were raw which pretty much made us all lose our appetite, the pizza crust was terrible, my salad was blah my sausage was burnt, the calamari was cold, the waitress was very odd to say the least. Oh and on another occasion the meatballs were frozen pre-made & the chicken was off. It was an unbelievably bad dinner experience may even be my worst ever & it can not be blamed on the fact that they were busy they were not. One of our favorite restaurants. We love the calzones! We have never had a bad meal at Riccardo's. Tonight, was an off night for the chef. We called in our order and picked it up. We ordered fried calamari, which was overdone, burnt looking and not very tender. We also ordered the seafood chowder. What was inside the container was a mix of sausage and banana peppers. Stopped here for a couples lunch and wanted to share a pick two combo. A pick two Combe comes on two plates, but out server "had to charge" us $2.00 extra due to the menu have a split charge note on the bottom of each page. They did not split anything except the server lost out on tip due to the extra fee for nothing. The Rueben was light on meat and heavy on sour kraut. The Cobb salad was ok, but small, but it was a pick two combo. I will not go here again. read more

I had the opportunity to visit Riccardo's with family and in-laws this past week. I felt it was a great experience. Overall , I give a rating of "4" stars, but for the area I would rate it a "5". The food was great. And they are very flexible on the menu. Even though it was not listed as a "pasta" available, I saw Gnocchi on the menu in another dish. I asked if I could get Gnocchi as my pasta and it was no problem. One of our party ordered the potato encrusted fish: it was outstanding. The house sauce on my pasta was very tasty, with enough spice, but not too much. The house salad was okay, the balsamic dressing was great! Basically everyone enjoyed their food. Our service was excellent. The waitress seated us in the backroom at our request and it is quieter than the front room. Everything came out in a timely manner. Bread was provided when we were seated and, at our request, when our food arrived. I am definitely going to make a return trip. read more

Both times, had the quiche, which was light and fluffy ;The fruit alongside was fresh and sweet ;the coffee was strong--basically, everything I want in a brunch. Just stopped at Riccardo's while passing through town on the way to Ocala. We ordered a chicken parmigiana sub, spaghetti and meatballs and chicken tender sub. BOGO alert on medium pizzas on Tuesday. Best pizza in town. The specials are usually really good as well. The rest of the menu has something for everyone. Hi Overall, if you are hungry, it's the best option around. I am always hoping that when a restaurant attempts to mimic a specific nationality of cuisine; that a little effort would be made to actually understand what it is that they are portraying. I will mention the pros first: Tuscan sauce was good, rolls were fair, salad and house dressing were good. Sea salt cheesecake (prepared by a baker off site) was very good. Seafood freshness was very good. Con: pasta was over cook (were talking Italian here), the shrimp was-cooked until very tuff. I am thinking the pasta, seafood preparing and atmosphere could use a big boost to make this restaurant draw crowds from afar and near with a desire from all whom visit to return. There are SOO many restaurants in the area and ALL of them are "eh". This is the only one that I repeatedly come back to and request. Being from the northeast it's rare to find good Italian anywhere else. It's really good home cooked Italian, and the pizza is as close to what I'd get at home too, which is a huge accolade! Love this place and my mother calls it her auxiliary kitchen because we are there so much. Great daily specials, amazing red sauce, and really pleasant staff. Big thumbs up from me! read more

I/we stopped in here on 1-2-2018 for a mini reunion of former Bank of Belleview employees. We had about 15 people. Our server was "Colleen." I called ahead and made reservations and it was a good thing that I did. The place was packed, but folks were moving in and out. I also noticed a high number of "pick up" orders. Good signs!! So, we seated and chatting....then we got down to business. We heard all about the "black board specials" which sounded interesting. There were also other menu specials which were good deals. Several of use ordered pizza while others ordered the pasta dish specials. All the food looked good. Piping hot. Large portions. Prompt service. Drinks refilled without even having to ask (I know that sounds so basic, but not every place gets it). I shared the medium pizza special with another couple. I ordered the pepperoni and sausage pizza (my favorite). It was a good size. I couldn't eat it all, so there were leftovers. The pizza was good. Nice flavor. Good crust, NOT doughy. I also had lemonade to drink. That was some GOOD lemonade. I had several glasses. :) One suggestion: offer a small chef salad for dinner. I think it would help as at least one other guest had the same thought/suggestion. Thanks for helping us make our BoB Reunion a success. Just realized I left a review at "Ricardo's" which essentially is the same place but wanted to make sure people spelling it correctly got to hear about this fantastic Italian restaurant. I've been two times with the same friend & we can't say enough good things about the food! She is a vegan & we both had the special which was an avacado pasta that was fabulous. I had shrimp on mine and they were cooked right. Desiré, one of the owners, recommended it as well as another special the previous time which was a veggie bowl & she was spot on! She told us they grow their own organic tomatoes in back of the restaurant which makes their sauces so flavorful! The service was prompt & attentive, too. Prices were reasonable for decent amount of food. Highly recommended if you like Italian cuisine. read more

We enjoyed our first visit to Riccardo's today. We opted for a large (20 inch) cheese pizza for $14.99. A medium (12 inch, which is a large at most pizza places) was $11.99. Lunch specials were available, with a variety of salad options plus half a sandwich or other choices for $7.99. We went on a Thursday, and there is a kids eat free special on Thursdays. Sunday's special is AUCE pasta with meat sauce or fettucine alfredo, Monday's special is AUCE fish fry. Tuesday there is B1G1 medium pizza. Today they also had a honey lime chicken dish available. Other specials are available throughout the week, and you can keep up with the latest news on their Facebook page. The food was hot and fresh, and tasted delicious! Our waitress offered freshly grated parmesan for our pizza. Service was very good and she was checking on us often and refilling drinks, even offering one for the road. The restaurant is clean and everything was in good repair. There was a small amount of clutter just inside the door and near the bathroom, but this was minor and had no effect on our dining experience. The ladies' room was clean and well stocked. It was a little warm in there but to be fair a) it was the hottest week of the year and b) it's a family owned pizza place that makes fresh, hot food all day. So it was not a big deal. Overall, a nice pizza place and those are hard to find in our area. I am happy to have found a new option for an inexpensive meal out or to pick up a good pizza for dinner while I'm out running errands. The restaurant does offer catering. read more
