Hi. I called this man, the store mgr, at 9 AM. Said I need Benjamin Moore paint in blue. He said we have plenty. Then had my dear spouse drive to store @ 2:45 PM. The mgr abruptly locked the store. The lights were off. So terrible. He didn't honour the store hours. He seemed unprepared to handle customers calls. Just typical insane italian new jersey as usual. read more

Best paint store in the area. Been a customer here for a number of years. They have a wide selection of products but more importantly the staff is knowledgeable. The customers seem to be a mix of contractors and DIY homeowners. Was in today and had a number of questions from the correct paint to use over metal baseboard heat covers to suggestion of water base semi gloss that looks like oil paint to best primer to use on walls where wallpaper was removed. These were specific questions that needed the right answers and the guys ... Victor, Hugh, Andrew and Zach quickly showed me the paint to solve my issues. This is my go-to place for paint, varnish and painting supplies in the Morristown area because of the expert advice. The people behind the counter (professional painters) have helped me (clueless amateur painter) many times with tips and product selection. I can only comment about the paint department which is the rear two-thirds of the store; I've never used the decorating service in the front of the store. Ricciardi Brothers sell high-end products: Benjamin-Moore paint, Cabot stains and Purdy brushes. So the prices can be brutal, like fifty bucks for a gallon is totally common, and they pretty much charge list price for blue tape, sandpaper and brushes. Even worse, most items are not priced on the shelf, so you often get a nasty surprise at the register. Opens amazingly early, 6am most days, and is open Sunday too if you get yourself into a jam on a weekend LOL! They have several stores so if something's out of stock at the Morristown location, they will usually have it the next day. Park in back, there's a huge private lot. The location is great for me, the hours are very convenient and the helpful staff keeps me coming me back, because I really don't enjoy painting and messing up a job out of ignorance is the worst. read more

We ordered all new HD blinds for our new house. One of the item is defective and they refuse to help resolve the problem with the manufacturer. The installer was not properly trained and did a lousy job installing the blinds. I had to realign most of them and clean the dirty fingerprint. read more

I'm sure the store is fine, but whoever it is they send out to paint houses....don't use them. A job that would have taken anybody else two days took them six. This isn't to mention the paint they got on the furniture, using one of our personal washcloths to clean up sanding dust, constantly being on their phones instead of working, leaving cups of cigarette butts behind, disappearing randomly without it being their lunch break, painting one of the rooms the wrong color, unplugging the WiFi while we were home and not giving us a heads up, and dropping their personal medication on the floor and leaving it. read more

This place and this team are great! The first time I went there they took their time with me explaining and providing everything i would need for wallpaper removal and painting. Most recently they helped me color match a 40 year old color and finish so perfectly I was able to do spot repairs and save days on a project. Someone at the counter gave a different option but seemed to take offense when I told him I didn't have a second person to help with the paint project. Just moved to the neighborhood and went to Ricciardi Brothers ay 145 South Street to get paint for my garage. I provided the exact dimensions and was told I needed 5 gallons of paint. I thought it was too much and I questioned it and the manager, Victor, said that's what you need. I trusted him at his word, even though he was extremely rude and unprofessional. After the garage was painted, by professional painters, I had 2.5 gallons left over. The walls were first primed and 2 coats of gray paint was applied. I called Victor to tell him he sold me too much paint and I wanted to return the 2 unopened cans. He started yelling at me and told me that I insisted on buying 5 gallons, its my fault and he would not take it back. I went into the store today to return the 2 unopened cans and he started yelling at me in front of other customers. I refused to leave until I got a refund. I got a refund. I asked another worker if he treats everyone this way. The answer was yes. Please DO NOT support this business. ​ read more

Betsy's review has a valid point about counter service in the paint department; depending on who is behind there the experience can be great (the informative and helpful dark-haired young man that used to be a fixture there, the long-ago days of the bright spot caribe gent and a select few of the older guys that you can catch if you're lucky) or almost unbearable. some of these guys are curt ---at best-- especially to female customers, even when the store is nearly empty. My sister still lives in town and occasionally shops there, she says she just pretends she's in a paint store in France so she can expect them to be rude to her. bottom line: you are paying a premium price for paint & are entitled to some courtesy at the very least. Maybe the guys behind the counter are paint Jesuses and Einsteins but if they can't be bothered to help you are better off with the cheerful morons at the big box store or dealing with the hideous parking at Sherwin which is also in town. I still want specialty paint so now I travel to Siperstiens where everyone is knowlegeable and helpful, it's not a crapshoot where you're dropping a few hundred dollars on paint with a generous side helping of bad attitude. read more

I've been getting materials here for years. Simply put, this is the best paint & supply store around. For DIY-enthusiasts and contractors like myself, Ricciardi's is where you want to go. The entire staff (specifically Hugh, Gerard and Vic) is extremely knowledgeable, always friendly, and they work hard to get you the product you need. I'm there almost every day and have never had an unpleasant experience. When you compare Ricciardi's to the paint departments at big-box home department stores, there's just no comparison. From staff product knowledge to the quality and variety of products they provide, the huge national chains cannot compete. I've seen the Ricciardi's staff work with homeowners who don't really know what product to use and/or what color they want, and the guys go out of their way to share their product knowledge, offer advice and suggestions, etc. They don't push any products on people - even Ricciardi's own paints and primers, which are quality coatings. I've overheard them serving many DIY homeowners, and they're always on-point with their advice and extremely friendly. The list goes on and one - I can't say enough good things about this store and the people that make it so great. If you're shopping around for paint stores in the Morristown area, consider yourself done: Ricciardi's is your best choice by far (and I've been to many). read more

I honestly won't buy my paint from anywhere else anymore. The guys here are great and want you to be happy with your paint. I bought a can of paint for my bathroom, but when I got home and opened it up for my wife, she didn't like it. She was able to take in the can and they added more white and blue to it until she was happy - and for no charge! Once when I was buying supplies the guy told me I didn't need something because it was included in something else I was buying! read more

You ask for Benjamin Moore No VOC paint and then ask for a can of primer and they give you their store brand. What is the point of spending extra on no VOC paint to get Ricciardi primer which is not no VOCs?! They pack everything nice in the box, so you don't even realize until you get home. So annoying. This is the second time when this has happened. I remember a few years ago I got a couple of cans of Benjamin Moore wall paint and then said I needed some ceiling white. You would think they'd ask me what I wanted. Nope they just gave me their Ricciardi brand ceiling white in a box, and I got home and discovered it. I tried the ceiling white and was not pleased with the outcome (visible roll lines). This time I used the Ricciardi primer and didn't even realize until I was half done with the can that the room was really smelling and then looked and saw that it wasn't Benjamin Moore No VOC primer. So annoying. Will not be going back here. read more

The Store manager not only gave me a replacement gallon but added a ton of goodwill for my time and trouble. Is it possible to give zero stars? If you want to be treated like a complete asshole, this is the place for you. The guys at the counter could not have been more rude and literally seemed to be pissed that we were in there. My wife and I just purchased our first home and planned on buying all of our paint at this local store, but after our experience I refuse to ever give them a penny of my money again. You can get paint anywhere, why go to a store that has horrendous customer service? The 2 main guys that work in the paint department couldn't act more troubled when you ask a basic question.
