Lookin for a good breakfast burrito this morning and came accross Riccos Burritos.. The menu is different and somewhat hard to read.. They have names for every burrito / product they sell. i.e., "Mataratz" so for a newcomer it's just a little awkward. After my order ..(ordered the Mataratz... chile, cheese, eggs, potato, sausage, chorizo) it's a whopping 5 bucks! I expected to get a pretty large burrito.. As my burrito arrived it looked alittle flat.. this is due to the grill marks, yes it's a grilled burrito.. That's fine w/ me because if you commute and need to eat in the car it keeps all the ingredients in. The burrito was pretty good, with all the chile cheese and meat.. although I'm a big guy I should have got 2, but that would have run me over 10 duckets.. so I rolled w/ one.. Overall it's pretty satisfying.. tastes good, but one is just not enough.. they either need to lower prices so customers will buy two, or make the product bigger.. My two cents... read more

My brother-in-law and his girlfriend were in town. She is a huge foodie and somehow heard about this breakfast burrito joint. They drove all the way across town to pick these up. Let me just say that I heart that girl. I wanted to tell my brother-in-law, "Marry her. Marry her now." This gal can find some really great food. I refrained since this was a new relationship and it is for purely selfish reasons. They brought home something different looking. It was a grilled burrito. Like a breakfast burrito panini. I've eaten here for breakfast burritos perhaps 20 times - that alone tells you something. They grill their burritos, seemingly in a panini maker, which crisps the outside and makes it crunchy and toasted. If you order a bacon burrito, they use a really good quality bacon which is thick and smoky, although occasionally I get a chunk of bacon which is fatty and tough mixed in. But overall, the flavor and meatiness of the bacon makes up for the occasional errant piece that must be discarded. They also have an excellent chorizo - very lean, with just the right amount of spice. My only complaint is the uneven quality of the prep. They have three different people working the kitchen in the morning, and I always groan when I see the woman working the burrito line in the kitchen, because her portions are significantly smaller than those prepared by either of the two guys who work back there. If you get one made by either of those guys, you don't feel ripped off for the $4 or $5 price tag, but I can empathize with some of the other reviewers who have complained about portion sizes because I, too, have gotten small burritos when the lady prepares them. Despite the portion control problems, I continue to love this place. Bacon and chorizo are great, chili has just the right amount of heat, and the grilling is truly unique. These are some of the best breakfast burritos in Denver. They also have a punch card - buy 10 and get your card punched each time, and the 11th is free. Ordered from door dash and I had to throw it all out. The nachos looked like someone ran them over and the tacos were terrible. The meat had a layer of fat (cold white fat) on them. So bad I am bummed I wasted 18.00 on this mess. read more

I came to Ricco's burritos for the first time. I sat in the parking lot while reading the reviews on Yelp. LOL. I think they are only doing takeout currently as a lot of restaurants are. I had the popper breakfast burrito with chorizo. It was definitely craveable. The chili relleno on the inside was still a little crispy which was an added bonus. They grilled burrito which was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be coming back to try some thing else on the menu read more

Not bad! Tasty burritos for very cheap. Their "hot" sauce is shockingly spicy - I always get the hottest when I eat out and this was almost too much! The inside is nothing special - it's in a little strip mall with a couple cheap tables and chairs. I think most people probably get take out, but you could eat there if you needed to. read more

Sports themed Mexican restaurant. It looks a bit bare and grungy when you walk in. The female server was efficient, but definitely not warm and fuzzy. The guy seems a lot better. On to the food, it was kind of bland. My friends who got burritos said they lacked flavor. My tacos were the same. I called them to order some burritos cause on their website and menu says DELIVERY, the first time they didn't respond, the second time they answered, I asked them if they speak Spanish and they didn't, that's ok for me, I asked them if they do deliveries and they just say "NO"... This is the #1 place for Burritos! Everything is fresh too. The steak and the bacon to the chorizo and sausage. I try a different one every time I come in. This place has the best burritos I've had in Denver, and they're pretty cheap. However, I won't give them five stars until they change management or do something to up their customer service. Word to the wise, call and order ahead because you can wait upwards of 30 minutes on the weekend. Today there were only two guys working. I ordered 15 minutes before I got there and still waited 15 minutes after I arrived. I don't blame the employees, they are always friendly and work hard. The burritos a were nothing special. Proprtionally they're really small. I ordered a "plain jane" and there was barely any potatoe or egg in it, just a mouth full of chili. It was like biting into goo wrapped in a tortilla, but all in all still edible. I have had way better though. What annoyed me most was the customer service. The woman in the front takes your card to the back and asks every single customer if they want to leave a tip. I just ordered a $3.50 burrito, which I haven't even eaten yet. Why should I leave a tip? Tips are not assumed, and I doubt you're on waitress wages. I watched as one man asked why he should be leaving a tip and she pretty much told him it was to cover the cost of their card reader. Umm..That sounds like the cost of doing business to me. This place is a hidden gem and the reason I adore Yelp*! If it wasn't for the handy Yelp* app on my phone, I never would have discovered Riccos. The magic lies in GRILLING the burrito panini style. I had the "Big Louie" stuffed with green chili, double bacon and warm melty-cheese...So good! The bacon was thick and awesome. Decent burritos although a lil overpriced. Had the Rock'n Riccos which was overall good but didn't think that hot would be that hot. If you want hot, you will definitely get that from their hot chili. I doubt I'll be coming back here again mostly because of their bad customer service. **I'm giving u fair warning before you eat here*** Disgusting salty no flavor food I also wanted to try the "voted best green chile" who the hell are the judges?? Shoulda known when I walked in the front door on a Friday afternoon about lunch time and the place was empty. Most good lunch spots are busy on Fridays. You walk in seems like a cool vibe, until ur greater by a woman who doesn't speak English or Spanish! Really hard to understand. Burritos were way over priced, I will pay top $ for a good burrito. I ordered a total of 3 burritos 2/breakfast egg bacon potato chile cheese & 1 bean cheese chile hot. After giving the non speaking woman my credit card for the over priced burritos, she asked laughing if I wanted my card back? What a weird statement, I will be watching my credit card for any fraudulent charges over the next few weeks!!! So I get my food in a bag to go walk out only got 2 of 3 burritos... Ugh Went back in she just laughed, and said she only charged me for 2/ not worth the grief or wait I left. Got home my room mate ate bean cheese chile, I tasted it. Drove down there to get a steak burrito. I got there before 11:30 so I can beat the lunch rush hour.... Big surprise, they were out of steak and chicken. And yes, the manager acted like he was bothered people were in there trying to get a bite to eat. Tried ordering something from their special section, the manager said that's a breakfast item and they won't make it. This place is a hole-in-the-wall. However, they have the best breakfast burritos around and by far the best green chili I've had in CO. I always get the Big Louie with hot green chili. Their "hot" is actually hot, the TC is super hot, I would recommend trying it before you get a burrito with it. Everything I've had has been good, I probably go once a week or so. read more

I get the feeling most repeat customers here are between 16-25 years old. There is something about that age group that makes subpar food somehow exciting. I had the C.P. Burrito 'sloppy', hubby had the kid-n-play 'sloppy'. It was food, maybe 2.75 stars. Unfortunately, the green chili my burrito was smothered in was cold, like couldn't melt the cheese cold, big minus for that. Cold burritos are not exciting to eat. I think a lot of the ingredients are pre-made, then burritos are assembled to order, as opposed to made fresh to order. I believe this, because my order came out super fast. So fast, that I know bacon and sausage can not be cooked in that short of a time, and again, it was not hot. For $8/burrito, I think this is inappropriate. The burritos are large, and the chili is decent. The medium heat was pretty ideal med heat. The flavor of chili was ok, it just tasted a bit like the flour was not completely cooked out. I also don't understand why 'smothered' does not include lettuce, tomato, and onion, and they don't even seem to be an option. I would have bumped them up a star if my burrito was $5. They are open on Saturday, so they have that going for them. It wasn't the worst thing ever, but I will probably not be returning. read more

Got all excited seeing it was voted best chili 2015 from Westward on a banner outside their front door. Lady taking order doesn't understand English very well & will rip you off. I ordered the sloppy Mataratz, a sloppy breakfast chili relleno, & wanted to try their so called "caliente" chili since she said it was really hot! What a joke! Their idea of hot chili tasted like loads of powdered cayenne pepper in what looked like yellow orange enchilada slop. When our order came out only the Mataratz was sloppy but not the relleno. When I called the lady out on it & tried to go over the almost $19 order by showing her their menu on the wall, she said the prices on the menu are incorrect & have changed. WTF! you can't do that! It should have been $5.29 + $2 for the slop but she said it's $6.29 + $2. She did that twice to us. I walked out mad. The small mouthwash sized cup of "caliente" chili was given to us with loosely tin foil (no lid). I poured the disgusting chili out on the grass & begged the birds not to land around it. My wife could only gut half the relleno said it was flavorless & mushy. The Mataratz was ok but the thought of wasting $20 was constantly bombarding my mind. Just a disastrous experience! We could have gotten more quality food for easily half what we paid if we just stuck with other fast take outs like Little Anitas or Santiago's. It's obvious we will NOT be going back & i'll never go off what the Westward has to say about food, complete rubbish. read more

Food is good, customer service is bad. I don't like getting asked to add a tip before I've even seen my food. They also don't seem to care about customers while the lady and guy were singing in the back kitchen having fun before even acknowledging me as a customer. We decided to try something different. What a mistake. First it took them 20 minutes to get the food. Not fast food at all. But heck for good food I am willing to wait. BUT.........They were out of beans and steak. So you were very limited on what you could get. I ordered a taco and chips/queso. Hubby got tacos. Price didn't seem to bad at first, till you saw what you got. I got about 10 BURNT chips and a very small bowl (like the ketchup things you fill up at a restaurant) of queso dip. The taco shells were just as burnt as the chips, tasted like old grease and the had about 2 teaspoons of ground beef with about three shred's of cheese on each one. NOTHING else. I will say the green chili is good. But you have to drench the food to get the old grease taste out and to add some flavor. Super disappointed, and frustrated that I wasted 9 bucks on this and a whole lunch. I guess I should have read the reviews before venturing out. No I am not a tool, but when you get as many questionable reviews as this place has, you proceed with caution, so while "Timothy M" might be trying to boost the rating of his family's store, the rest of us will be honest with our assessment, and maybe save someone else from wasting money. read more
