I ordered Crispy Mandarin steak, Hunan Chicken, Chicken fried rice, and an order of 2 eggrolls. My total was $57. I thought that was very expensive. I asked for extra hot mustard and got 2. The "steak" was not tender, it was not crispy, and it was sickenly sweet in a thick sauce. I tasted it, and the husband had a small portion and we threw most of it out. My Chicken Hunan was really good with big pieces of broccoli. The chicken fried rice was delicious. I asked the lady if the Hunan or the Szechuan was hotter, she couldn't answer the question. I like hot spicy Chinese food. I hate sweet Chinese food. This will be my fourth Chinese restaurant that continues to disappoint. Can someone please tell me where there is a good one? The food options were Huge! I went with the Sushi and wasn't disappointed! Our waitress was quickly working to serve us all (we had a big group of 8)- along with everyone else in the restaurant she was busy yet kept up! The ambiance was as expected and enjoyed! What is going on with the chef these days? The food quality is not what it used to be. I can tell any beef that is used is likely a chuck roast. No longer are the sauces rich and flavor but seem watered down. Also when ordering shrimp tempura they cut off half the shrimp and it's primarily just eating batter. I would rather have less shrimp served with the entire shrimp with the tempura batter. It just makes the overall experience not good. I've even noticed changes in the fried rice, which should be simple. Is the old chef gone? This used to be our go to, but my last seven experience have all been the same with poor quality and less taste. Eventually, this will impact the restaurant and the revenues. Maybe people don't care but I do with the amount of money that we're spending. read more

Food was simply delicious. Some of the tastiest Ive had in a long time. The sushi was wonderful, and the entrees. Atmosphere was nice, quiet and clean. Only reason they are not receiving 5 stars is the server RAN me down in the parking lot stating I didnt give enough cash to cover my bill. Which I did. Then proceeded to be nasty and tell me I didnt leave enough tip. So really the server ran me down to scold me, to tell me I didnt tip...enough. I agree, it wasnt sufficient. However, that was all the cash I had on me...at the time. I had fully planned on coming back, and tipping well more than what I had left. Not bad for Chinese food. Always a bit disconcerting when the restaurant is nearly empty at dinner time, but there were quite a few takeout orders. Small sushi bar with limited fish. The egg rolls were slightly off taste. All sprouts and cabbage and not much else. Okay soup, but it needed hot mustard. I had the Seafood Delight which was loaded with gigantic scallops, tons of shrimp, one tiny shard of lobster, and plenty of broccoli. Carol had the Garlic Eggplant which was excellent. My daughter loves the vegetarian offerings coming from Asian Garden. Recently she's had treatment for kidney stones. We offered to take the kids for the night so she and her husband could have a nice dinner. She used Doordash off their website to have their food delivered to the house. First time users, they selected their food, entered all kinds of personal information, address, credit card, Venmo ID. Then received messages relating to the progress of the order, ending in COME PICK IT UP. Needless to say, they were disappointed. They did not mention this to the restaurant when they picked it up, feeling it's not the restaurant's fault. Or maybe they pushed the wrong button. And certainly the stressed caused by having to leave the house. So I say Bull. The restaurant needs to know when a delivery vendor fails to deliver. So ... eat the food ... skip VENMO. This spot delivered to us in no joke, 30 minutes. And I am also not kidding when I say it's the best damn Chinese food I've had in forever. I got boneless spare ribs and I swear they were sent from heaven. I got eggplant in garlic sauce, a personal favorite and just look at the pic, they gave me enough for an army AND it was delicious. It's crazy to think I've been going here for at least 12 years consistently. I've grown to know the staff and owner. Great people! The sushi is much higher quality than competing restaurants (yes, trendy Passion Fin included). I don't know what it is, but their spicy sauce - you can't get a similar taste anywhere else. The house salad dressing is a unique orange citrus that I've never had anywhere else. Sashimi cuts are thick and fresh - a tremendous value comparatively to other restaurants that tend to short you. Great, quality Chinese dishes as well and very attentive staff. Very blessed to have a quality takeout place like this. Other neighborhoods in Nova are not as lucky. I see a few bad reviews scrolling through... all I have to say is I've never had those experiences. Maybe once or twice in over 12 years and that's pretty good in my book. What has happened to this place?? We've been eating here for over 10 years, it use to be our favorite place but in the last year everything has changed and NOT in a good way. A few months ago we ordered our usual sushi and Chinese food dinner (delivery). We specifically asked for no fish egg/roe on the sushi and received it covered (literally caked on) in fish roe. When I ordered the girl who answered spoke very good English and was extremely rude. When I called back about the sushi being literally caked with fish roe she giggled and said oh you don't like it? Huh? Just a very rude response, and I was surprised by her response. Now fast forward to this Friday night, we order delivery again and the sushi rice was warm and mushy, which made all the sushi warm and gross to receive warm mushy sushi. The ginger was dyed bright pink and not the usual ginger we've received in the past. Our Hunan shrimp was not spicy at all and had a piece of a plastic bag mixed in it. (Picture attached) The combination lo mein had 1 piece of shrimp, and our beef and broccoli was all broccoli with 3 slices of beef, the sauce was so gelatinous and jelly like it was gross. It wouldn't even pour it was in globs of a jelly like consistency. Please get a manager or owner in this place and figure out why everything has changed so badly recently. read more

My wife had the Chasew Chicken, I had the Mui Shui Chicken and a friend had Moi Gu Gai Pan, all of which were excellent. Also an excellent liquor and beer selection with a full bar. Seating was comfortable and could handle both small groups and large. The vegetable pan fried dumplings were also nice, light and a great start! Our group of five was seated at closing, and they were very generous and more than willing to allow us to take our time finishing. Our server was more than polite, he was helpful and was just plain nice... its good to see in service at a table, someone who knows the customer is always right - and deserves to be treated well. This is a nice place. I did take out but I checked out the dining room while I waited for my take out and was impressed. My first time here and I ordered Mhu Shu pork. I like this entree so I can easily compare to other restaurants. The food quality is excellent. Very fresh ingredients and very good flavor. I moved here in 2020 and went to this place a few times with my family during Covid and it was pretty good. Something happened in 2021 and the quality of the food went down. My dad always or is a chicken dish and the past two times he's gone the chicken was undercooked. The last two times I've ordered there I've gotten the combo lo mein and the last two times I've gotten it it has been the greasyest watered down mess of noodles I've ever had. This used to be our go to place. Just orderd for the first time in about 6 months. Wow it has gone down hill. Food was inedible. I threw it in the trash. I orders pan fried meat dumplings I received i think vegetable dumplings. I also ordered beef and brocccoli just terrible. My wife ordered Moo shu pork. I have been coming to Asian Garden for over 15 years, and I would like to reflect on how this use to be the best asian restaurant, but over the years it has gone downhill in both customer service and food quality. The Front Receptionist are rude and the owner looks like he is always pissed off. The Chef almost always microwaves the food. The rice is never cooked, and time and time again you will get stomachache because of it. If you call them and tell them that the order is messed up, they will not refund you, they will not say sorry, but they'll say "ok".
