They have an extremely high turnover with pediatric dentists, dental hygienists and office staff. While we were happy with the adult care we received from Dr. Parks, having a constant changeover in other staff affected our quality of care and overall experience. Additionally I had to stay really on top of keeping track of my family's xray schedule, as what was covered by our insurance because staff would attempt to perform X-rays without verifying coverage with our dental insurance. We decided to finally leave the practice after we cancelled an appointment. I had provided 24 hours noticed and was informed to penalize us, for not giving the required 48 hours notice, we would have to pay a scheduling fee each time we made an appointment, for every family member. I wrote an email to Dr. Parks to explain that my youth had pneumonia and I was treated very badly by staff for canceling appointments with 24 hours notice related to her illness. His staff member Denden intercepted the email and refused to forward it to him. After all the years my family had been with the practice it was extremely disappointing to be treated in such a way.

The staff talked us through everything and updated us along the way which made all the difference! We were also given some options for treatment approaches mid way through the procedure which was appreciated (other offices don't do this & have flat out told me that there are no "options" once under GA). Super grateful for this dental office. Highly recommend. Also, if it helps anyone decide - we are a family of color under state insurance and were treated amazingly. He originally fix the tooth the first time that it needed attention over a year ago. I came to them thinking that they could repair my teeth and not charge me, since the work was done by the dentist before. They refused to work on it without a payment of 1,000 upfront, which I did not fully have at the time. They said my insurance already paid for it and I have to wait a few years for them to cover it again. So, in order for them to repair my tooth, I would have to come out of pocket in order to fix it! They also said they changed their financial policies and I could not make any payments at the time and they wanted the full amount!! In the past I have paid them in a timely manner and they where able to make my dental care affordable! They would accommodate my family and financial situations and up until recently, used to be friendly and welcoming! This is a sad disappointing experience to me because I have lost trust in the medical and dental professionals that my community needs in order to sustain excellent healthcare. We have enough problems with insurance increases, job losses, the homeless crisis, fair wages and affordable housing. This was just another jab at my community and all people who have suffered because of their race, sex, disability, income and the ability to access affordable healthcare! I have paid these people to help my family and there was no respect given or thank you's for referring my sister in law and her family as well. My son who has Autism trusted this place and dentist because he knows his Mom trusted them to care for his dental needs! Now I have to start the process again, which takes time for him to socially to adapt to new environments. Even though they were out of network with my husband's insurance, I still trusted them and believed that they had all of my family members best interest, but not so anymore! So sad so ridiculous! I hope one day that this place would help people of all walks of life and not put dollars in front of making sure people have the best care in the world, care for the community and do not discriminate anyone at all anymore. Be fair, be kind and help those who need your service in a time of need. Please show some humility and kindness when serving the community and to the people who have helped you get to where you are in your field today!

He was terrified of the novocaine shot and had worked himself up into quite a meltdown. They swear up and down that this was the original find upon doing X-rays but I can assure you, these numbers were incorrect, as I vividly remember especially when it comes down to my toddler having surgery. Those are things you don't forget. I should've gotten a 2nd opinion and I feel guilty for not doing so and allowing this company to do whatever. They are trying to play on my intelligence which is super frustrating because I notate everything and am 100% that this is what was discussed. It kinda seems they might be doing a cash grab from insurance since this is a MEDICAID office. Pushing extra things that a 2nd opinion probably would have dismissed. If you come here and get a checkup, make sure to ask for a print out and/or breakdown of what services are needed + mandatory for your own files.
