With many hot water heaters having all sorts of electronic components these days and having one of those components replaced before on a heater that wasn't that old and looked like new, I did not expect to be told by the woman answering the phone that I likely needed a new heater (how would she know?). Nonetheless the appointment was set for the next late afternoon and 5 minutes before the end of the day, she called to say they wouldn't be there. They scheduled me for the next day and told me they couldn't guarantee they'd be there. Are you kidding me? Isn't the point of making the appointment - keeping the appointment? THANK GOODNESS FOR KEVIN BLOOM PLUMBING & HEATING CO.!!! To be honest, I picked Kevin from the yellow pages and guess what? I picked a WINNER!!!! HE answered his phone, HE scheduled the appointment for the next morning, HE showed up on time and HE went right to work. He explained to my husband and I just what was going on so that we understood the problem, HE replaced the component and we had hot water back in no time. Mike answered the phone on the first ring and was fantastic with communication. He gave me his cell phone number so I could text him pictures of the plumbing set up at my home. Mike's employee, Julian, showed up right at the scheduled time of 8 am and was wearing a mask, which I appreciate. Julian was friendly, polite, organized, and efficient. I felt comfortable having him work at my house. The price was reasonable and they gave us a 10% discount for paying in cash. I like it when businesses do that. Julian did a nice job. Have a look at my photos of before and after! We decided to upgrade our bathroom faucet, as well. The appointment was made quickly, I was surprised that it would be the next day. Lou arrived promptly and was easy to speak with. He addressed the pump issue, checked the pressure in my well tank, fixed leaking gas lines and fixed my sump pump. The cost was in the range I expected. I found Jon here on Yelp and called to see if he was interested in replacing my water softener and installing a rather large whole-house carbon filter. He asked me to email him the link to carbon filter I was considering, to get the ball rolling, and then he responded telling me the filter was appropriate so I could order it online. He scheduled an appointment for an estimate and then to complete the work, both in a timely manner. He gave me an estimate of time and his hourly rate which was very fair. I was impressed with the design of the brass pipes he built to my filter and then to my softener. He mounted the filter in a position so that it will be easy to replace the cartridge, and I am sure planned it that way. He also quickly fixed a leak in the basement sink faucet and installed a new faucet/drain in the bathroom. Jon is humble but confident, the type of confidence that can only come from having the proper education and experience.
