There are several different levels of packages available. You can check their website for info, options and pricing. You must call to schedule your experience. They get very busy and normally do not have openings available same day. When you call in, they will also try to sell you photo and video packages. Unfortunately, the website doesn't have any of this info. The people in the phone while efficient, are not very patient. The day of your appointment, you park and go to the trailer to check in. They will verify photo and video options and upgrades at that time. Be sure to ask questions and verify what you are getting. Also, be warned- a still photo is with the backdrop of a banner - not a car. Whether you're driving or riding - the experience itself is a rush! Maximum adrenaline rush. I could leave it there but I will continue. Speedway is easy to get to, is laid out well and signs make it easy to find check-in (which is located inside the track.) Entire staff was friendly and professional. If you are driving allow about three hours to go through checkin, orientation, classroom and your drive. Photos and videos are available of your experience as are some nice shirts. For the riders you will be paired with one of their professional drivers. You know it's gonna be good when you are doing 80mph at the end of pit road. When you get to the apron at the bottom of turn 1 you start to get some serious side g's. Well over 100 when you go up on to the track from the apron as you enter the back straight. Then two laps at full speed. The ride along is not rev limited so you get an awesome, high-speed ride. If you are driving you will receive classroom instruction where you are oriented to the rules, cars and the track. You will drive the car alone but a spotter will be in your ear helping you navigate the track until you are more familiar. It is easier if you know how to drive a stick but they work with those who don't. The race cars do t have doors so be prepared to enter through the window. It's not as hard as it sounds but the helmet and hans as a bit of a challenge. There is a rev limiter on the car which is set higher if you purchase more time. If you have never driven on the track it takes a few laps to settle in and get comfortable. So if you want more speed go for one of the longer packages. With the classroom instruction, the spotter and the helpful people everywhere you have no reason to feel nervous or on your own It is best to go earlier in the day if you can when it is cooler. The track and the cars get hot, especially when you are in a helmet and drivers suit. For the best driving experience, buy at least 8 minutes (more If money is no object) because the last few laps are the good ones. And seriously...buy the video. You have spent the time and effort to do this....Small price for the great memory. read more

My husband got this as a gift for his birthday in 2020, pre-pandemic shut down. It took a year for us to make it to Vegas to use and there were some definite downsides to this. First, the giftcard was purchased to cover the entire price of an 8 minute ride. When we booked a year after purchase, the price had gone down so he was issued a credit for the remaining balance (no refund was offered despite them changing things, not us). Cool... or so we thought. Fast forward to 2021 and we arrive at 10:30am for his 11am track time. Present said credit and ask what it can be used for: photos, videos, merchandise. Cool, paid for a single photo plague and were told to save the rest for use on merch after the drive. Not a problem. Then the waiting began. About 11:10 they took all the 11am class guys to the classroom for the training (which I'm told was done well and had good information). At 12:04pm they came out in their fancy driving suits, where they had another pow wow before being told to line up to drive. At 1:20pm, it was finally my husbands turn to helmet up and drive! Why did it take so long you ask? Because they were only running 1 person at a time on the track and the 10am class was still in process. No one could tell me why, but I got the impression it's a track rule because an employee told me they do multiple cars at other tracks. Anyway, he got in the car and they took his photo, the photo I wanted for that $40 plague we bought. He did his 8 minutes (about 6 laps so I'm not sure it was actually 8 minutes, I just didn't clock it). He was happy, I was happy. Next was to return the suit, pick up the photo, and use the rest of the gift certificate on hats and shirts. And here is where I went to tears out of frustration and annoyance at the lack of information shared with me, and apparently between the employees there. First they looked for the photo and could find it. Turns out, the photo that goes on the plague is supposed to be taken before they drive in front of a banner with the company logo on it in their drivers suits. We were not told this, so now I have a photo of my husband in street clothes, with myself and one of our children as the other had fallen asleep during our 3 hour wait. Then I asked to use the remaining gift cert to get my husband a hat and our son a shirt. Nope, couldn't do that, despite being told at the beginning of this adventure that I could. That gift cert could only be used for driving or photos from that side of the trailer. Fine, bought the hat (no kids shirts or I would have bought that too). Because I knew we wouldn't use the remaining $40 on this gift cert, I tried to have the lady running that side of the trailer keep it to use for someone coming later in the day so it would be used. She insisted I keep it because "you never know, you might want to use it." I can promise you , I will NEVER use this piece of paper. What makes me the angriest is the man I spoke to was apparently the man in charge. Despite seeing me in tears at the misinformation we were told and lack of options for what to use this certificate for, he made no move to make it right. No offer to find some common ground that would make us both happy. Nothing. Just "well keep it. You can use it next time." My husband had a great time, so that's the only reason I gave 2 stars. I was highly disappointed at the ineffective way they run the drivers, the misinformation I was given, the fact I overpaid because they changed the price but was not offered a return for THIER change, and the overall rudeness of the man in charge. My husband said "I had a good time and that's all that matters" so after writing this, I will let it go. And find a use for the second most expensive piece of paper I have: a gift certificate that will never be used because we will NEVER do business with the Mario Andretti Racing Experience again, nor will we recommend others do it and give the cert to them to use. Poor customer service, or perhaps poor customer satisfaction is the better way to put it. UPDATE: I recieved an email 2 days after our trip to view and purchase the photos taken in the car, you know the one I wanted to begin with. Spent $25 to download the photo and another $3 to print at Walgreens but at least I have that $40 crappy plaque to put it in. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didnt add for $50 I could have bought the entire album my photo was in, but why I need 15 or so photos of people I dont know (yes, you can buy other peoples photos) plus 15 or so generic Vegas images and track shots, I'm not sure. Oh my goodness! This was so much fun! Nick picked us up at the Westgate and made the free shuttle ride super enjoyable. He's a great driver and an exceptional conversationalist. He helped to put any anxious nerves to ease and set the stage for an amazing experience. Joe, the NASCAR driver, was super nice and made sure each of us got a great ride. The camera did not work and I had purchased the video for my Dad. They let him ride again just so they could retake the video. In fact, he actually got to go on three rides as they tried to fix the technical glitches. We were willing to take a credit and buy some merchandise instead, but they knew how much we wanted to take the video home to the rest of the family, so they made it right. They never rushed us, just made sure we were having fun and getting what we paid for. Nick even hung out until we were done, so he could personally take us back to the Westgate. I cannot say enough about this experience and the people running it. Everything was incredibly worth the cost. They really care about their customers and giving them an amazing experience. I was truly excited to do this as this has been on my bucket list for the longest time. We got to Westgate - Superbook entrance 15 mins prior to our pickup time for the shuttle. We ended up waited a lil over two hours as they kept assuring us that the driver was on his way but refused to give us the exact timeframe. And not once were they apologetic. Then we asked for a refund in which they refused to do so when we have waited two hours!!! But after a few phone calls back and forth - we were able to get the refund. Went for my birthday present last year. I was supposed to get a NASCAR hat and a pictured NASCAR drivers license, they told me that they were sold out of drivers licenses . I paid for extra time on the track, and when I was finished they told me they were all sold out of NASCAR hats. My only choice was the Mario Andretti racing experience hat. I told them that I wanted a NASCAR hat and I didn't want the and Mario Andretti hat. I asked them if they can send me one, and the response was no we cannot, take the Mario Andretti hat or don't take one at all. Really sucks to get upset on your birthday and get Disappointed. Didn't get what was in agreement on ticket. Still a big NASCAR fan will probably do the racing experience again but will never forget this one. read more

Great and friendly track and staff. My kids did the ride-a-long in Joey Loganos car. I would highly recommend this for any fast driver or any nascar fans!!! (See picture) However, when you get to the track dont stop at the main building as they are not affiliated with the petty experience and the brunette was not informative. So, head out towards the track, follow signs..go under the tunnel..there is a petty experience office out there that will assist you in anything you need, driving, riding..very friendly and very helpful. I've got to say.. I have done some pretty cool/adrenaline-type/adventure stuffs and while this doesn't beat skydiving over Lake Wanaka or Bungy Jumping over the Shotover river in Queenstown; it is not trailing far behind. I booked a Rookie Tour with the guys at the Richard Petty Driving Experience and my mates got himself a ride-along with one of their drivers; and we both loved it. It was great fun. The Rookie Tour is basically you at the wheel of a 600 HP Nascar Race car w/ an experienced driver in the seat next to you and he guides and makes sure that you don't kill yourself during the 8 laps that you're allowed to do at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I really liked the whole experience - they pick you up at a pre-determined location on the strip, drive you out to their shop (where you learn a bit about their story and how they do things & you can also get photos with some of their really cool cars) then to the Vegas Speedway, get you geared up and show you a safety video. Then you head to the track and wait your turn to race. There are some really cool cars along the track where you can get shots.... Bumblebee was there! The only letdown is that you are only allowed to do 8 laps, which goes really really fast! It's quite pricey (I paid about $650) but worth doing if you in Vegas - the guys are very nice and they make sure that you have a great time! read more

BEST adrenaline rush of my life! Very well organized with friendly and funny staff! Being a girl who has a need for speed I was ready for this & pumped,..til reality set in as I hiked my ass through the window & into drivers seat & being strapped in head & all. I forgot all the stuff I learned in the brief course before because of my high but I winged it. Quickly realized I was insane for wanting to do this as I sped away alone & nothing separating me and my body from smashing into the wall except for the I was in 100% control of...no coach in car, no radio head set to guide me, and no plastic bumpers lime in bumper cars to keep me from crashing. You feel like you are tailing your pace car and though you get the green signal to get closer & sped your slow ass up it still feels insane to go against your gut. As you are racing you have no time to look at your speed (not even sure there's an odometer) & no time to see where your friends are either watching or racing. All you can do is death grip the wheel, foot what feels like death force on the gas, and cuss out loud. I swear you are going soo fast it feels like there are no straight aways & you never get comfortable with the speed. Less than 10 mins later I all ends. I sadly only got up to 125...sad because I could've gotten up to 135 mph. A must do in Vegas...not too far...way fun...worth every Benjamin you spend or speed. read more

My boyfriend booked the Mustang GT 350 for us to drive. I have to admit I was a little scared because it was pretty powerful and the track was curvy. Everyone was so friendly. I just wish that we could have turned the car ourselves to hear the noise. The shuttle did not pick us up so we almost missed the ride, but they were nice enough to give us a plaque and video as complimentary which is on the usb. read more

Las Vegas. A trip with lights, noise and activity basically non stop. For me the trip highlight was my Dodge Hellcat Drive at Richard Petty Driving Experience. Everything from reserving the car a couple months prior,to the pick up location on the strip. Everything for instruction before the drive was seamless. Before you could think about it you were climbing into the car on the track. Spectators could watch right there at track side to watch you take off. Basically follow an instructor in a stock car around the track. What a thrill to go as fast as you dare around the corners. The Challenge was to hit a top speed of 140mph. Good luck, I got it up to 132. Maybe next time :-) I highly recommend this experience to anybody who enjoys cars. read more

Ever have an exploding bomb rocket bigger than you strapped to your ass? I love Slim Pickens. If you ever have the chance to do this, DO NOT HESITATE. I got to do some pretty Manly Man things in and around Vegas already, including quad running near a gold mine, skydiving, shooting craps with and for Denis Rodman, dune buggying close to a Nellis training site. "Don't drive too close to the gunfire or you'll get shot up," was the buggy training I got. My g/f couldn't do most of these things because of back surgery, so that sucked not sharing it with her. But we went to tons of shows and that was awesomesauce. And I posted an offer online weeks before, but there were no other men in town that day, right? There was an undisclosed age I reached where I promised myself I wouldn't sign any wavers of liability for loss of life, gettin too old for this shi-. But I was ASKED to do this. When it's on someone else's dime, HELLS YEAH it's on, bitchez. The shuttle bus picked me up at Harrah's, where excitement built as we signed our lives away. Not many people were talking, so I broke the ice with some guy who looked pretty serious, like we were going to Talladega. In 5 minutes we got the whole bus talking about cars, racing, why we were there. I had to get to know these people since I wanted someone to say "he was a good guy" when it came time to identify the body. We heard the roar of engines as we circled the Speedway and went thru the tunnel to emerge inside it. I had never been before, it was like the beginning of that Star Trek movie where they shuttle around and the ship gets big as all hell as we approach it. I must have been led around like I was stoned, we were all kinda star struck when it came time to actually do it. We got to an area to be briefed and RACE SUIT UP. The cars had a double cam setup, to look at the POV and us in the car. I would have cashed a bond, you're damn right I'm getting THAT footage. A pic was taken of us also that we got to buy later and I did that cause the plaque was pretty damn sweet. I wanted everything that showed proof of me doing it, like I was on the space shuttle, or Christy Canyon. You know, I brought my own camera and like a complete dumbshit- there was less concept of time than in a casino- I didn't get any pics of me in the suit. I was rubbernecking everything, damnit. When would I ever get to do that again? CD video. Loaded into the car, I talked with my driver for a bit, it was like I was a 5 year old kid interviewing a fireman. They have driver training courses also, for a day to several weeks. We were off and I did that thing where you try to hold your hand in front of you. I tried it for a second before realizing I could shatter my arm if it got slammed around. With a mic-ed headset on it was louder than F as he wound that bad boy up! Little did I know the conversation would be on the DVD, so you can really hear how ricockulous I was. I was on a drunk high goin the fastest I ever had in a car before, averaging speeds over 200MPH. I teared up involuntarily (or out of utter stokedness) and it just flew back along the side of my head like that first Vegas hard water shower, wow. We got a tour of the garage, too. These are real Nascar cars and parts with the only modifications being a second seat and harness setup. I was a garage geek, too, having worked with a mechanics department at a theme park. They had a merch trailer that sold basically everything they do on race day, plus the custom stuff I bought. I would love to go back, just to be in the obs area. Powerful stuff. Always bring ear plugs or better yet foam muffs to a race. That night I went to a derby girl's b-day party at Lucky's 24/7. She's a Nascar fan, too. I was just glowing radiant all night. read more

TALL PEOPLE BEWARE! I purchased the Sunday drive for my fiance ' s birthday last week. I made the point of calling the North Carolina office to make sure that the program could accommodate his 6'6" large frame. The office assured me that they had cars that fit almost anybody and that as long as he wasn't taller than 6 foot six, and bigger than 4x he would be fine. The day of his birthday I presented my Nascar crazed man with the information and he was thrilled. Right away he asked me about his size and I assured him he was fine. After all he only wears a 2x. We arrived at the track and again he asked the manager again assured him he would fit no problem. Driving time came and he put on his fire suit which was far too big for him. When it came time he got through the window no problem but the crew had to stuff his head in to get his whole body in. They were literally shoving his head in! After some discussion back and forth I was surprised to see him climbing back out. It turns out his legs were so long they went far past the pedals and he hit his leg on the steering wheel when trying to shift... in other words he was way to tall. I felt so bad. Here was my man looking humiliated getting out of the car, ripping of his suit, looking like he wanted to die....on his birthday! The manager offered a 10 lap ride along and free pictures and video, which I agreed to but later realized was a mistake because really who wants pictures to remind them what a horrible birthday you had. I emailed the office in North Carolina and shared some thoughts. I never heard back from them so I felt I should share it here. First, they really should have some height and weight recommendations. I get they don't want to turn away prospective drivers but really they should have some parameters to give people so at least they have an idea. Frankly another driver that day who was six foot four said he barely fit. My fiance said there would be absolutely no way that a 3x or 4x would ever fit and he had no idea why they would even think it would be possible. He to this day has bruises all over his body from trying to squeeze in! It probably shouldn't be attempted by anyone taller than six foot four or heavier than 225 lbs. Second, they should consider a mock up of a car cockpit in their office so that customers have an opportunity to sit in it before they get their hopes up and get dissappointed and more importantly before they get humiliated when they don't fit. Over all, the people who got to drive loved it. However it will go down in our personal history as the birthday we both would like to forget. read more

What a Experience!!! If you are a NASCAR fan like me, then you cannot pass up the opportunity to do this. I was given a certificate to do the Kings Experience at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It consists of 18 laps behind the wheel of a real stock car. When you arrive at the track, and you fill out the liability forms, you are placed in your real racing suit and you see the normal safety video. Since there are only 20 people in the class at one time, you are split up into groups of five with an instructor. Your instructor then does a walk-around the actual stock car you will be driving. Then you get into a nice air-conditioned van which drives around the track to give you pointers on where your driving line should be on the track and other helpful tips. Next comes the best part, driving the cars!!! Each student gets to driver there own vehicle. They control your speed on the track by the student has to follow the instructor in his car. As you pull out onto the track, you just follow what the instructor does. As he goes faster, so do you. In you first session, you complete 8 laps and come back in. After you get out of your car, the instructor goes over your driving, gives your lap times and give you any instructions on how to improve. After that, you get to go out again for another 10 laps at higher speeds. If you instructor feels you can go faster, he will increase his speed. The only problem is that they will not let you go over 140mph!! Once you complete your 10 laps, you pull back into the pits and finish up. After the class is completed, they have a little graduation ceremony which everyone receives a nice looking certificate and a printout of all of you lap times. Everything about this experience was top-notch. The instructors, facilities and equipment where excellent. The souvenir shop that they have have a nice assortment of things to purchase to help you commemorate your experience. Some might think that $799.00 is to expensive for this kind of experience. You are wrong!! I am already saving up for the next time I go to Las Vegas because if you are a NASCAR fan like me, it is well worth it. If you don't want to spend that kind of money, they do have a ride-along program. For $99, you get 3 laps in the passenger seat with a professional driver at 180mph. read more

I purchased the rookie experience as a birthday present for my man. Overall great experience, BUT THERE ARE TWO VERY IMPORTANT DRAWBACKS YOU SHOULD CONSIDER BEFORE PURCHASING: 1- For $500 I don't think they give you enough time in the car on the actual track. You only get to drive for 8 laps. YES YOU HEARD RIGHT ONLY 8! Which literally goes by in 2.5 seconds. 2- They only allow you to go 130 MPG!!! Seriously? In a racecar that can easily hit 170? Why spend that much to only go 130 MPH? My man thoroughly enjoyed the experience expect for the fact that as soon as he got the hang of driving the car, it was over... Ultimately, if you don't mind spending that type of cash and you've never been behind the wheel of a race car, then do it! If you are a speed racer and think you're going to feel the exhilaration a professional racer feels, think again. Remember, 8 laps & 130 MPH MAX! read more

I did the rookie experience so I got to do 8 laps at Las Vegas Motor Speedway the day after the race and was AWESOME! Seriously I am addicted now and just want to do more and more. My boyfriend and I were invited to the Richard Petty experience through a media corporate event, it was so much fun, more fun than I had imagined it to be. I read a review saying that the max they allowed you to drive was 130, that's incorrect being that my average speed was 136. The only thing that sucks is that you only get to ride around the track 8 times, and as mentioned before you barely get the hang of it by the 8th lap to really enjoy it, 10 laps would be more ideal. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is in Vegas and has the extra cash to spend, I did notice that prices are pretty steep for 8 times around the track; however it is a once in lifetime experience. Not many places you can drive 140 miles per hour and not receive a speeding ticket. read more

Wanna make two redneck, Nascar fans very happy? Take them to Richard Petty Driving Experience. My parents just happened to be visiting one week after their 29th wedding anniversary. We told them to get in the car for their surprise bungee jumping excursion. My step-mom was ecstatic when she realized we were rolling up on the speedway, while my dad was almost as terrified to find out that he would be sitting shot gun in a stock car going 165 mph. What can I say? He drives 55. Always. After we managed to get my dad in the car, he had a great time. They were doing a BOGO 1/2 off deal. For roughly $170, they each got suited up for 3 exhilarating laps around the track. Most people would probably enjoy the driving package, but for my parents, passenger was just right. Richard Petty Driving Experince is a blast! Kind staff from the moment you walk in. You get fitted for a sweet racing suit and you get a lesson for how to drive in the best way like a real Nascar driver. Its exciting the whole time! The car is so unbelievably fast! There's a man in the tower guiding you over the radio and he helped me drive like a pro! I recomend buying the photo and video because I regretted not getting it. It's a once in a lifetime experience so have fun! read more

On a scale of 1 to 10 I give the Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE) a 127.56! If you do nothing else in Las Vegas -- DO THIS! I was raised by an Ace Mechanic and grew up at drag strips and stock car races. I love NASCAR and all things racing. One of my newer loves is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and RPDE has them. I give my experience a 127.56 because that was my top speed on the track. Mind . . . Blown. If this isn't a popular attraction with the Locals, there is something very wrong with the Locals, because it should be #1. My excellent boyfriend took me to Las Vegas for a week to celebrate my birthday, and specifically to do the Richard Petty Driving Experience Muscle Car Challenge at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS). When we got there I thought it was really thrilling to drive through the tunnel and out into the Infield of the track. It gives you a view of the Speedway that not everybody gets to see -- from the inside out. From the moment we climbed out of our car at LVMS everyone we met was super-nice. Cayla in the office and at the track-side trailer was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. She was a real sweetie. The instructors,Tino, Brad, Mike and Art were so pleasant and funny as they got all the drivers ready to do their laps on the track. I owe a special thank you to all of them for making my birthday so unforgettable. Their instructions were easy to follow and the tips they gave the drivers made driving on the LVMS both safe and a ton of fun! Yes, folks, you get to drive one of the RPDE muscle cars on the same track the NASCAR drivers race on! I chose the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. It truly is my dream car. I never thought I would be able to see one of these stunning cars up close and personal, much less drive one! It was breathtaking, blood-tingling, rip-roaring, mind-blowing and intoxicating! The Hellcat is an exquisite car and I'll be on Cloud Nine every time I think about driving it. RPDE takes exceptional care of the cars they have, so there are zero worries about the condition of the car you'll drive. Every one of them are drop-dead gorgeous. Be sure you wear good shoes -- sneakers are recommended. You will be at the track for at least two hours, but even in the heat of the desert you don't have to worry about drinks or an umbrella, because RPDE will take very good care of you. They have a track-side, pit road, covered bleacher area where you can sit with a high-powered evaporative cooler and lots of cold water. Even the people who come with drivers but just observe are well cared for. To top it all off you can purchase a RPDE plaque with a professional photo of you and the car you chose to drive. You can also purchase a copy of the video taken of your experience that shows both your view out of the windshield and a view of you as you take your laps on the track -- with audio! I strongly recommend getting both. If you want speed, but don't want to be behind the wheel yourself, RPDE also does ride-alongs with professional drivers. That has to be a kick, too! For me, it was the ultimate thrill of a lifetime, and such an enjoyable and entertaining experience that my boyfriend and I are definitely planning to go back and do it all over again. I got the Rookie Experience, it was a lot of fun. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have fun. Once you get on the track the spotters make it very easy for you. Yes, the cars for the Rookie Experience are governed at 150mph. That is plenty fast enough. All the staff wants you to have a good time. I would definitely do it again and recommend this. One thing I will say is that it was a little difficult for me to get my old, overweight body into the car. The staff will help you with that if you need it as well. read more

I booked this for my boyfriend for Christmas and we finally went a few weeks ago! Holy Cow this is the best thing ever! We had originally purchased 8 laps but when we got there he wanted to add more. I am so happy we did, because those laps go by quickly and it seems just as you're getting a hang of it it's over. The instructors are incredibly nice and knowledgeable. read more

I got my husband the 8 lap Rookie driving experience and myself the ride-a-long as part of a 20th Anniversary trip. Even though the entire trip was wonderful, this was clearly the highlight. This is a first class operation from the word GO. We were picked up by our shuttle driver/ tour guide/concierge extraordinaire Brad who really went above and beyond what I would have expected to make sure that my experience was as great as my husbands. The crew, drivers, and coaches were all super friendly & clearly knew exactly what they were doing...I can't say there was a single hiccup in the on-site operation. We weren't done for 10 minutes before my hubby was talking about getting the 30 lap upgrade next time. We no more than walked in our door when we got home and my husband was watching the well done video of his drive for the first of what has now been who knows how many times. This was truly an all time great experience. Also, as a side note, I saw a review that claimed that you were not allowed to go above 130 mph, and wanted to state that that was clearly a misunderstanding. You are allowed to go as fast as your skill level & the non-restricter (sp) plate car will allow. The in car coach can cut your horses back if you are clearly driving beyond your abilities, but otherwise it's up to you. My husband was in the high 130's and another gentleman in his group was into the 140's, while a fellow in the 30 lap group hit the upper 150's. read more
