Pow wow after the classroom before they lined up, in their fancy driving suits.

My husband got this as a gift for his birthday in 2020, pre-pandemic shut down. It took a year for us to make it to Vegas to use and there were some definite downsides to this. First, the giftcard was purchased to cover the entire price of an 8 minute ride. When we booked a year after purchase, the price had gone down so he was issued a credit for the remaining balance (no refund was offered despite them changing things, not us). Cool... or so we thought. Fast forward to 2021 and we arrive at 10:30am for his 11am track time. Present said credit and ask what it can be used for: photos, videos, merchandise. Cool, paid for a single photo plague and were told to save the rest for use on merch after the drive. Not a problem. Then the waiting began. About 11:10 they took all the 11am class guys to the classroom for the training (which I'm told was done well and had good information). At 12:04pm they came out in their fancy driving suits, where they had another pow wow before being told to line up to drive. At 1:20pm, it was finally my husbands turn to helmet up and drive! Why did it take so long you ask? Because they were only running 1 person at a time on the track and the 10am class was still in process. No one could tell me why, but I got the impression it's a track rule because an employee told me they do multiple cars at other tracks. Anyway, he got in the car and they took his photo, the photo I wanted for that $40 plague we bought. He did his 8 minutes (about 6 laps so I'm not sure it was actually 8 minutes, I just didn't clock it). He was happy, I was happy. Next was to return the suit, pick up the photo, and use the rest of the gift certificate on hats and shirts. And here is where I went to tears out of frustration and annoyance at the lack of information shared with me, and apparently between the employees there. First they looked for the photo and could find it. Turns out, the photo that goes on the plague is supposed to be taken before they drive in front of a banner with the company logo on it in their drivers suits. We were not told this, so now I have a photo of my husband in street clothes, with myself and one of our children as the other had fallen asleep during our 3 hour wait. Then I asked to use the remaining gift cert to get my husband a hat and our son a shirt. Nope, couldn't do that, despite being told at the beginning of this adventure that I could. That gift cert could only be used for driving or photos from that side of the trailer. Fine, bought the hat (no kids shirts or I would have bought that too). Because I knew we wouldn't use the remaining $40 on this gift cert, I tried to have the lady running that side of the trailer keep it to use for someone coming later in the day so it would be used. She insisted I keep it because "you never know, you might want to use it." I can promise you , I will NEVER use this piece of paper. What makes me the angriest is the man I spoke to was apparently the man in charge. Despite seeing me in tears at the misinformation we were told and lack of options for what to use this certificate for, he made no move to make it right. No offer to find some common ground that would make us both happy. Nothing. Just "well keep it. You can use it next time." My husband had a great time, so that's the only reason I gave 2 stars. I was highly disappointed at the ineffective way they run the drivers, the misinformation I was given, the fact I overpaid because they changed the price but was not offered a return for THIER change, and the overall rudeness of the man in charge. My husband said "I had a good time and that's all that matters" so after writing this, I will let it go. And find a use for the second most expensive piece of paper I have: a gift certificate that will never be used because we will NEVER do business with the Mario Andretti Racing Experience again, nor will we recommend others do it and give the cert to them to use. Poor customer service, or perhaps poor customer satisfaction is the better way to put it. UPDATE: I recieved an email 2 days after our trip to view and purchase the photos taken in the car, you know the one I wanted to begin with. Spent $25 to download the photo and another $3 to print at Walgreens but at least I have that $40 crappy plaque to put it in. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didnt add for $50 I could have bought the entire album my photo was in, but why I need 15 or so photos of people I dont know (yes, you can buy other peoples photos) plus 15 or so generic Vegas images and track shots, I'm not sure. Highly disappointed.

Such an awesome experience!!!

Seriously, I had the best time!!! You will never go faster than you do on that track, and it is thrilling, crazy, fun, and scary all at the same time! The employees are awesome (Donny S was my driver), and the experience is something I'll never forget. I give it my highest recommendation!

Wow what an experience . It was a life time experience for me . The thrill of driving a NASCAR on a real NASCAR track is beyond expression . The adrenaline was rushing and excitement was at its pick . The staff and assisting drivers were very cooperative and helpful . They want to make sure that you have a best experience of life and you get what you pay for and you come back for more . Safety is their priority and they do not comprise with it at any cost . I am coming back for more .

Do you enjoy driving a NASCAR stock car? If you do, this is the place for you. Make a reservation, pay in advance, hop a shuttle at Paris Paris, sit through the training, suit up, wait your turn in the covered bleachers, and off to the races you go literally. They also have a USB plugged in so you can purchase GoPro version of your driving experience. This event can be expensive; plan on paying about $400 and extras like commemorative plaques, videos, pictures, ball caps, and T-shirts are extra. Still well worth the money if you like driving a race car at 150+ MPH. An instructor sits in the passenger seat and gives you guidance and can slow you down if you get going too fast. Just plain FUN!

Great and friendly track and staff. My kids did the ride-a-long in Joey Loganos car. I would highly recommend this for any fast driver or any nascar fans!!! (See picture) However, when you get to the track dont stop at the main building as they are not affiliated with the petty experience and the brunette was not informative. So, head out towards the track, follow signs..go under the tunnel..there is a petty experience office out there that will assist you in anything you need, driving, riding..very friendly and very helpful. I've got to say.. I have done some pretty cool/adrenaline-type/adventure stuffs and while this doesn't beat skydiving over Lake Wanaka or Bungy Jumping over the Shotover river in Queenstown; it is not trailing far behind. I booked a Rookie Tour with the guys at the Richard Petty Driving Experience and my mates got himself a ride-along with one of their drivers; and we both loved it. It was great fun. The Rookie Tour is basically you at the wheel of a 600 HP Nascar Race car w/ an experienced driver in the seat next to you and he guides and makes sure that you don't kill yourself during the 8 laps that you're allowed to do at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I really liked the whole experience - they pick you up at a pre-determined location on the strip, drive you out to their shop (where you learn a bit about their story and how they do things & you can also get photos with some of their really cool cars) then to the Vegas Speedway, get you geared up and show you a safety video. Then you head to the track and wait your turn to race. There are some really cool cars along the track where you can get shots.... Bumblebee was there! The only letdown is that you are only allowed to do 8 laps, which goes really really fast! It's quite pricey (I paid about $650) but worth doing if you in Vegas - the guys are very nice and they make sure that you have a great time!

You drive, or they drive, depends on your self-confidence

Wish it was for more than just one ride down the drag strip but it's okay. The rush of going 0 to 160mph is something like I've never felt before. What a rush! Had no idea what to expect but I'm sure glad we tried it before we moved away from Las Vegas. Overall, great customer service, fun ride, definitely would recommend it for you speed demons out there.

They did share that I should get there 30 mins. before my scheduled time of 1:15-2:15 which I did. And then I and others waited and waited. The lady doing our check in alluded to the fact that they were short of staff that day. We had to do a training and safety session before the driving. Then there was another delay as they needed to get fuel into the cars. I was not even able to run the car until 3 pm! So they were at least 1 hour late or more. Then during my first run I accidentally pressed the brake (the fit inside a drag race car is extremely tight). I got chastised by a guy who turned out to be Doug Foley. He made me run the same distance again. After my 3rd run, I was forced to get out EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T RUN THE ¼ mile WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT of the program I paid for-that is why you drive a drag race car-it's all about the ¼ mile! They could have allowed me to do the final run-it would have taken just 5-10 more minutes-this is after all of the delays. The guy who was the trainer and the starter apologized and said I just needed call the toll free # and they would reschedule me in the future since I already paid. That made no sense-that could cost me another at least another 2-3 hours sometime in the future and who knows when this clown show would come back on tour in town! I asked to talk to who was in charge-Doug Foley. Frankly he was just rude and would not budge. In short, the whole situation was an utter fiasco. Customer service? This guy just didn't care. I reiterated that they were short of staff and running very, very late. He had no reaction at all-pathetic.

We decided to check it out this year since they came to Las Vegas for the first time. We left early and disappointed both days. Saturday, day one was just not that exciting. There was not a lot to see behind the grand stands. A couple of booths from RedBull and some local businesses but not much else. The action inside the gates was slow to happen. The Challenger Cup guys were flying but there were so few of them that the action did not last long. There was too much down time and the stunt motorcycle riders providing the entertainment in between simply weren't that entertaining. Lets head on home and try it tomorrow. Sunday rolled around and did not start much better. Still not much going on outside and its windy. So windy I am getting worried they may not be able to race. But in we go and begin to wait again for anything to happen. By a bit after 12 noon the planes took to the air. A few hit the pylons causing some breif delays but it was exciting. These planes are so highly agile. These were the top 12 flying. Or top 11 more specifically since the final pilot never got to post a time. The wind by this point was blowing down the pylons. Begin a long holding pattern. By just after 2:00 the race director took to the PA system to announce that a committee was discussing how or even if to continue. I knew this was bad news so I left early yet again. I am glad I did as I just found out they cancelled the race and crowned a winner based on qualifying. What a let down. I am still interested in the RedBull Air Races. I will continue to watch on TV. As for attending, maybe if they go to San Diego or Long Beach I will check it out again. Some place close to home with better weather would be great. I don't think Vegas was a success and I don't believe they will be back. Too bad,

Four of us purchased Club House seats to the Vegas Red Bull Air Races. We were all excited that our $350 tickets would provide a pleasant, upscale viewing experience. Not so. First of all, communication about the tickets was poor. After several emails back and forth, my husband was told he could pick the tickets up at "Will Call" if he was worried about getting them on time. Really? Can you just mail them on time? The website gave very little information about the race schedule, side acts, map of the venue, etc. The signage at the track was poor. When we asked for directions, one attendant asked us to see our map and then complained that he could "hardly read it." He then pointed us in the general direction. Another attendant said he "had no idea where Lot 4" was located, but then remembered "Hey, I"M LOT 4. ITS RIGHT OVER THERE!!" We had to pass through security on our way in. I had an umbrella to use for my walk from the parking lot and was told I had to put it away. I put it in my purse. My purse was checked at the next point, and the guard there told me he would have to "confiscate" my umbrella. I asked him if I could claim it on my way out and he said (flatly), "Nope, I'll be gone by then." He then pushed it rudely towards my husband and said "you can can take it to the car or I can confiscate it now." My husband waliked it to the car and had to make his way through the line again. Once parked, we made our way to the Club House seats, looking forward to the comfortable, air conditioned view. Upon entering, we were told our seats were outside in full sun on the 90+ degree day! We were told we could sit inside the Club House Hospitality Room, which was crowded, standing room only. In fact, 90% of the race attendees of all ticket types were huddled under the overhang in the only shade to be found. We were quick enough to nab a table as another group got up to walk around. The view from the table was obstructed, but better than sitting in full sun. The attendants in the hospitality room were useless. We were given only two programs when we entered, so I returned to the desk to ask for another only to find out they had run out of copies. This was at 11:00 a.m. on the first day! The wifi was not working for anyone in the room. When I told this to the hospitality desk, the young lady responded, "Oh, really. I don't have anything to do about that." I have no complaints about the food served in the Hospitality Room. Very little for me as a vegetarian, but I expected that at this venue and was ready to purchase food. Unfortunately, there were very few choices available. The food trucks there were "carnival" type funnel cakes, etc. I didn't have any wine, but the member of my party who did said the white wine was pretty bad. My husband was hoping for some jet flyby's or other exciting side acts. The acrobatic air show (helicopter and plane) were great. The numerous motorcyle acts were not very interesting and very hard to see. By the second day, we had a strategy to get there super early and find better seats by the window. We were there 20 minutes before opening and were met with a long line of folks waiting. The lined moved quickly at the time for opening and the two guys in our group hustled to get good seats. We were lucky enough to get the last four spaces available by the window. I'm not sure how so many others got in so quickly. The race itself was thrilling, but unfortunately was cancelled early due to windy weather on Day 2.

The long escalator leads to a long tunnel under the track that takes you to another escalator. Ride this final escalator to the top and you're in NASCAR heaven. The neon garage is where to enter and exit pit road. At least that's what I did. There is so much to see from drivers garages with their car and crew inside, live bands, shows, dancers, delicious food and of course victory lane. I was highly impressed and only wish that I had walked over sooner. I'm not sure if the garage is closed during the race but there is no good view of the track from their in my opinion. One star for the food. There was absolutely nothing good good we could eat all day long. I saw a sign for healthy food and thought yay, I can do this! There were some sorry looking little bananas and tiny apples...both have too many carbs. I finally decided on a piece of combo pizza for $8. It had little pepperonis and bits of onion along with a small amount of sauce and cheese. I ate the cheese and toppings. I couldn't have the crust due to the carbs. The hubby tasted the crust when I was done and said yuck. We are not allowed to take food into the track to suit dietary needs, so there should be some options offered around the track. So even though the food was less than mediocre, Neon Garage rocks and I recommend everyone check it out at least once when visiting LVMS!
