Monday turned out to be a good day to be at Cowabunga Bay. The crowds or light getting in was pretty quick yet only one person out there checking bags and only one person at the ticket counter. The park is big and open and pretty easy to get around different areas to eat food. You can also bring your own food and drink in all the lifeguards were very nice and helpful. My grandson scraped his knee up and they were quickly there to assist and give us Band-Aids no other medical attention as needed. And when it's this hot in Las Vegas, I need to stay hydrated as much as possible. We packed some hydrating drinks and waters and I was thankful they let us bring these items in. Plenty of different areas to put your bags down to eat at lots of chairs. The kids had a great time. It's the close of summer school is starting so we'll be back next year. read more

I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent experience at your waterpark. I understand and respect that your park has a policy prohibiting outside food, as you understandably want guests to purchase food on-site. However, my family keeps a strict kosher diet, and the food sold in the park is not something we are able to eat due to our religious dietary requirements. Before entering, I brought a small bag of packed kosher snacks for my children so they would have something to eat during the day. I explained our religious dietary restrictions to the staff, but I was told that it did not matter and that no exceptions would be made. As a result, we were not allowed to bring in the only food my children could eat. This was extremely upsetting and made us feel that our family's religious needs were not being accommodated or respected. Families with medical dietary needs are often granted reasonable accommodations, and I believe religious dietary restrictions deserve the same consideration. I am not asking to bring in coolers or large meals that would compete with your concessions. I simply believe there should be a reasonable exception for guests who, because of sincerely held religious beliefs, cannot consume the food available at the park. I hope you will review this policy and consider implementing an accommodation process for guests with religious dietary restrictions. Service for a cabana is insufficient for the demand for consumers. Only one line in order to get or check into your cabana that is also grouped with season pass purchases. As a business when you have willing customers who want to spend more than just an entry fee on top of other purchases such as food and drinks you should definitely serve them immediately. One line was totally empty and should be able to do the same thing as the person who processes cabanas. As far as food. I was told a 15 min wait, and received my food almost an hour later. On top of that my pizza was smashed and so my cheese was stuck to the top of the pizza box. Chicken tenders were cold, even when the outside temperatures are 115 degrees. So that makes absolutely no sense to serve cold chicken tenders. Cabana table was dirty with dried up ice cream stains on top of it. They only took out half the inner tubes for both the wave pool and lazy river. It is a Monday and so maybe only 25% of the park was at capacity. So still confused why my food took so long when they were not busy. A business needs to operate the same and in a consistent manner from a Monday through Sunday. If this trend continues, I can see these stakeholders having difficulties keep these parks open for business. Saw a lot of safety concerns as well, as our cabana was facing the kids play area. Witnessed one kid just walking up the stairs and fell and broke his nose. Blood went everywhere! Felt sorry for the kid, and the lifeguards working here did not help much. Felt as though the staff is too young and immature to handle a situation like this. Cowabunga Canyon was an fun experience. It's been several years since I've last visited. It was originally Wet'n'Wild, the last time I visited. This water park is a fantastic way to spend your day while beating the heat in Las Vegas during a hot summer! While visiting on a Monday afternoon, the whole park seemed less crowded than Cowabunga Bay in Henderson, which is the water park we usually go to. The park offered many options to choose from for fun activities. We spent most of our day floating down the lazy river, going into the wave pool, and riding down many of the water slide attractions. There were many family friendly and kid friendly areas of the park as well! There was only one small problem that occurred when we went to Cowabunga Canyon using my season pass. When I redeemed my season pass for Cowabunga Canyon, my pass was not automatically applied to Cowabunga Canyon because I had previously redeemed my season pass at Cowabunga Bay. Fortunately, the customer service team was extremely helpful and and added the Cowabunga Bay Canyon to the annual pass. Everyone was so helpful! No trip to a waterpark would be complete without buying some snacks. My snack choices were a blue raspberry ICEE and a funnel cake! Both were fantastic after being in the sun for hours! I also purchased an annual refillable cup that can be used by season passholders throughout the summer! If you're going to be going to Cowabunga Canyon or Cowabunga Bay more than one time each, then this cup is well worth the cost! I had a fantastic time at Cowabunga Canyon. Both water parks though, Cowabunga Bay Canyon, and Cowabunga Bay in Henderson, have their own unique charm and offer many fun things to do. Our family spent a toasty 109F day here while visiting relatives in the area. Both my 5&7 year olds as well as my husband had a great time. My kids are tall so they were able to do all of the attractions. We tried the slides with the double and single tubes, the steep slip&slide looking ones, the wave pool, the kids area, and of course did endless loops of the lazy river. I liked that the park was not overwhelmingly large in size. Arriving at opening time allowed us to do the slides without a long wait. I definitely recommend hitting the ones you want to do most early on. I figured out that you should bring towels and go claim a few lounge chairs right when you arrive as they end up all getting taken rather early in the day. There were a lot of them near the kids play area which is right next to the cabanas. Taking off a star because I waited 20 mins in 109f heat to buy dole whip only to be told they won't have it that day when I reached the front of the line. I suggested to the young lady that they should put a sign up and noticed later that there was still no sign - a total disregard for people's time. All in all, this is a great park and I would definitely be a season pass holder if we were local. read more

For the past 3 years, once a summer i have attended Cowabunga Canyon with a special needs autism group. I wanted to give a special shoutout to Annaka (group coordinator), who is always so kind and welcoming to our group. This year, one of our group members got unintentionally separated from the group. The second shoutout goes to Nehemiah, who dropped what he was doing to help me locate our lost group member. Thank you both for this. Also, i want to add that each year the experience for special needs groups has improved. This year we were given a map of where to locate lifeguards to help our group secure floaties, etc. The only negative feedback I would provide to the park in general is this - I think more attention should be paid to individuals wearing scanty bathing suits - ultimately this is a kid- and family-oriented place. To see so many individuals wearing swimsuits that hardly cover anything is frustrating to those of us with young children. Overall solid experience - thank you. read more

The rides and facilities were terrific. The lifeguards were vigilant. However, Emily and a few of her coworkers at the concession stands were very rude even after I spent over $50 on food and drinks. We asked Emily for a straw since my toddler could not drink her juice directly from the cup. For some reason, she kept telling us we couldn't have ONE straw even though others were able to get straws for their drinks. I was trying to explain that if my toddler wasn't able to drink her juice, she could get a heat stroke due to dehydration and Emily still could not understand this. Waited 1.5 hours in line to get food!!! Ridiculous!! How do you not allow snacks or food but funnel the whole park to only a couple food stations which are so poorly ran. We also shouldn't feel like we need to leave the park to go get food in our million degree cars, regardless of coolers. Every single employee was moving as slow as molasses. They don't notify anyone with signs when an item is out. The customer service is awful. $40 for chicken fingers and a slice of pizza and fries? I realized she didn't even hand me an itemized receipt to verify that total until after I left. The food was bad too. The quality made us feel awful the rest of the day and the following day. You order and then have to wait at least 20-25 mins to get your food. I watched a couple wait about 35 mins for theirs! We split up and my husband went to get a hot dog in the line at Pinks and I went to the other food spot. He was done, we had our kids have some of that food while I waited in the other line and then they went into the lazy river two times around. They met up with me and we realized I waited 1.5 hours for food! So much energy is exerted at these water parks with swimming, you'd think management would want their guests to have a full belly. What are we paying for in our ticket to the park?! It's also sad because we know that this review won't even make a difference. You don't see management even responding on here. $10 for parking. Very large and easy to find a spot. In and out privileges, just need a hand stamp. No outside food, they will check your bag and confiscate it. You can bring a small thingy for water bottles though or bring a refillable bottle like a Stanley. The rides are so fun and easy for most ages. Just such a pain to wait in line for a floaty and then also wait in line to actually get on the ride. Have your people wear sandals with straps like crocs. It makes it easy to put your footwear on your hands and hold onto it as you ride. Stay from open to close and get yourself a $13 funnel cake. Yuummm. read more

I've had season passes for a couple seasons now, they do have a nice kids area, the water is usually pretty cold, but they have good slides for smaller kids. However, the park is absolutely terrible at maintaining their float tubes, I am almost 100% certain they buy tubes for the season and then when they're gone they're gone, they do not maintain them and attempt to keep the park fully stocked with sufficient tubes for their attractions. There are rarely enough tubes for the wave pool and lazy river and they won't allow you to bring your own in, and this is just god awful customer service since we are paying to be able to use them in their park. My second biggest complaint is they are absolutely terrible at managing their lines, they usually have one employee at the top of multiple slide entrances and they are terrible at keeping the slides moving efficiently. Much of the time the teenager lifeguards get distracted easily and lines that could move twice as fast are stagnant because they won't staff the park to be efficient, they only staff it to be barely operational. Cowabunga bay in summerlin near the IKEA is a good fun time for the entire family. We ended up purchasing the pass from Costco it was about $35 for two passes and a parking pass. We also paid for a cabana. We arrived when it opened and there are plenty of chairs and spots to save. The kids stayed busy with the lazy river, wave pool and all the slides. This is an interesting one. Overall the park itself is fine, lots of rides and things to do, everything was fairly clean and lots of options for food. It frankly was how the park is run that was the problem. The ticket sales guy was great, he told me about the promo for their summer cups which was $10 for two refillable cups so of course we got those. The people running the cups station were nice and helped my 8 year old a couple times with filling up. I didn't have a ton of experience with the life guards, but the few I talked to were super nice and helpful. The food stands were..... interesting. We got a few frozen bananas and pretzels which were fine. We ordered buffalo chicken bites and a bucket of fries from the little chicken stand. When he handed me the fries (which was immediately after I ordered so no way they were fresh) I touched one and it was stone cold. So I let him know and he said "well are the bottom ones cold? They should be fine." Call me crazy, but I don't want to pay $10 for half a bucket of kinda warm French fries. So we asked for another and he had to check with his coworker if he could give them to us. In the end, we got hot fries and cold buffalo chicken but I honestly wasn't in the mood to fight again. We ordered food from the main dining as well which was again, fairly cold even though we waited quite a while after placing our order for pizza and chicken. Also the tube situation is a little weird. I don't know if it's the end of the season and they didn't want to replenish popped tubes, but every ride we stood for there was a rotating five to fifteen tubes. So everyone waits at the bottom for the same tubes to come down and then go up. It definitely seems like if there were more tubes they could get the lines going a little quicker, one of the rides I watched there was no one up top when they'd hand the tube. We'd watch that person walk it up, slide it down and hand to the next individual. Just kind of weird and a waste of time. Overall, we had fun with the lazy river, kids section, and wave pool. Wow! What different experience compared to cowabunga Bay in Henderson. This park is smaller but I liked that. I spent the last two mornings here bc I had such a good experience the first day. I went back the following day (Tuesday morning) and was let in early (10:40) with the other season pass holders. I was one of the first people in the lazy river and it was glorious. The water was clean and I witnessed a gentleman working on skimming it thoroughly while I was floating. I greatly appreciated seeing that! The bathrooms were kinda gross but the place is run by mostly teenage kids. I stayed in the lazy river until it got busy then chilled by the wave pool. I love all the chairs along the crashing water so you can lay in the sun and dip your feet in at the same time. I will be back and probably buy another pass for next year. read more

I know Yelp reviews are usually for businesses, but I wanted to recognize an employee at Cowabunga Canyon named Logan. I'm Juliana, a mom of two, and I came to the park on June 1st to get our season passes fixed. The front area was pretty packed, and there were a lot of guests needing help. While I was waiting, I couldn't help but notice Logan. I remembered him from last year. We didn't talk much, but whenever we did before the park opened for season pass holders, he was always friendly and respectful. Today, I got to see a completely different side of him. Not only was he helping customers, but he was also helping his coworkers whenever they had questions or got stuck. The managers wear blue, and while Logan wasn't wearing blue, he stepped up and took charge when things got busy. He helped solve problems, answered questions, kept things moving, and made sure both guests and employees were taken care of. What impressed me most was how calm he stayed. Even with a crowd of people waiting and employees needing assistance, he never seemed overwhelmed. He was patient, professional, and focused on making sure everything ran smoothly. He also made the experience fun for the kids. When my boys were trying on their new season passes, Logan had them move their arms in circles to make sure the passes wouldn't fall off. It was a simple thing, but he turned it into a fun moment instead of just another task. My boys loved it and were smiling the whole time. As a customer, it's refreshing to see an employee who genuinely cares about helping others and making things better for both guests and coworkers. Logan showed leadership, initiative, patience, and a strong work ethic throughout my visit. Cowabunga Canyon is lucky to have employees like Logan. We had a great day getting to the water park at 10.50am on a thursday. We zipped thru the parking line and showed out season pass bar code for free parking. Then waited in line for maybe 15 minutes to get thru the security line to pick up my nephews season pass wrist band and get our 3 for $65 tickets for the rest of us was a great deal. We were lucky and found a picnic table in the shade between 3 rides across from the boot, scoot, and boogie. It gave us plenty of shade, a little sun, and an option to lay down on our towels in the grass. We took turns taking the kiddos on rides and walked thru the lazy river. It was busy so we know its out of the staffs control when they run out of pool tubes. The kids still had fun swimming with the current. The lines for the slides weren't too bad and the life guards on duty took care to move people safely and swiftly out of the way of the next group coming down the ride. We used our cups from last year for water cups and the staff gladly gave us free ice and water to stay cool. We brought our own sun block but its good to know by the group area is free spf 30. We ordered 2 slices of pizza, two pretzels, and 2 orders of nachos, it was around $45 with tip and the season pass discount. We left around 3pm. Four hours of fun in the sun, two happy kiddos, and two exhausted adults well worth it if you get there early to get some shade and seats. read more

The park is nice, took our boy 5 and girl 2. The parking is $10 on top of all that i just payed?! And I payed for a cabana and the tickets?! The lines were slow with only one line open for the cars. Getting through security and having to go through 2 more lines bcuz they said told us the wrong line!? Then waiting for the cabana girl to come was horrible, it was always, I'll be right back!?! We didn't come here to wait for food or drinks! I would expect a cabana person to stop by at least once an hour? The food was mid and expensive. We were extremely disappointed with Cowabunga Canyon for canceling Great Grade Day with no real explanation. My kids were so excited to go. This was something they had been looking forward to for weeks, and it was planned as a reward for doing well in school. What made it worse was how it was handled. On the website, it simply says "Thank you for your understanding," but honestly, there was no understanding at all. No clear reason was given, no apology, and no effort to explain why such a big event was canceled last minute. Families plan around these things, and it felt very careless. Canceling an event that's meant for kids without transparency is frustrating and disappointing. Because of the lack of communication and consideration, we will not be returning anytime soon and felt it was important to leave an honest review. read more

1st time visit -- Can't believe I live 10min away and have never been. We had a fun summer day with the kids. Tickets are currently $49.99 for the day (but parking was an additional $10/car) We came with our friends from out of town who were visiting from the Fort Irwin Army base -- they do offer military discount but it's only for the active military member only and not wives or children of the member-- personally I find this silly, however the gentleman at the counter made an exception for our friends and extended the discount to his wife and 2 children after all. We arrived about an hour after opening and there were no chairs left, so I definitely recommend getting there right as they open. We inquired about a cabana but they were sold out for the day. (We will try to book ahead next time) Fortunately, a picnic table happened to open up mid-way through our day and we pounced :) having shade was a game changer and enabled us to stay till close. Park is small compared to many parks I've been to, but I actually preferred this because our teens could run around and it wasn't too hard to keep an eye out/locate them when we needed to. There are a couple different slide sections, wave pool, lazy river (my favorite), large splash play area and there were even toddler slides we could take our baby on. Something for all ages. Food selection was kind of limited but we did enjoy some chicken strips and chilli fries that were pretty good. The kids loved the dip n dots and frozen bananas. The park allows you to bring a small cooler in and water bottles as long as they're sealed. We brought one and were so glad we did. We really enjoyed our day and next summer I want to look into season passes. read more

Thankfully I had hard copies of the receipts. It took an additional 25 minutes to get checked in which should of been a scan and go. Our food was also preordered on line. Again told if I could not prove purchase, I would have to reorder and repay. Hard copies again to the rescue. This is the smaller of the Cowabunga Waterparks and offers hours of fun for families. Tickets can be somewhat expensive so if you plan on going a few times, get a season pass. It pays for itself in like 5-6 visits as well as giving you discounts on food and free parking. They also offer refillable cups as well. You can only bring sealed water bottles or refillable ones that are empty. Security is quick but make sure to not pay too much stuff to hold up the line. Once inside, they have a bunch of food vendors including dipping dots, pinks hot dogs and other food carts. The food cost was pretty expensive with 2 nachos, 2 slices of pizza and 2 pretzels costing about $60. So if you can, eat lunch at home as no outside food is allowed in the park. As for attraction, they have several slides as well a wave pool and lazy river. For the slides, there are a lot of stairs and an option for a two person tube or one person. They offer discounted tickets for certain time periods check their site for that info. Overall, it was a fun and safe adventure. read more

I was so excited to take 2 children to Cowabunga Bay yesterday and it was not too crowded and the lines weren't long, but nothing moves quickly. The problem was the teenagers that run the rides ( most of them )have no idea what they are doing and it takes at least 3 times as long as it should to get people down the slides. Either they aren't properly trained, aren't paying attention or lack the common sense to do the job. I understand they are young and it's just a job, but people are paying a small fortune to spend the day there and there is no reason for the amount of standing and waiting that you do. It's simply not run correctly. i gave a couple stars because they did have fun, but they should have been able to ride alot more rides if it were properly managed. read more

I've been going to this water park since it first opened under different owners with a different name, and for the last 3 years I've been getting season passes with my friends and going once a week all season. This year the quality of the park took a serious dive. The slides don't have nearly enough single rider innertubes, as an example one slide in particular had 4 tubes for single riders that's it, the wave pool had significantly less tubes then years past to the point my friends and I could almost never get one even on slow days, And the tubes they did have are all half deflated all the time, like they just don't bother blowing them back up any more. I don't know if they cut staff from years past but it used to be each slide tower would two lifeguards operating them, but this year they each only had one which slowed everything down like crazy. Waiting 40 minutes in lines for a 6 second water slide is just not worth it, so my friends and I spent most our time in the lazy river and wave pool which was nice, atleast when the wave pool was working. Park staff this year was almost all rude and unfriendly. Especially the guys at the door checking bags. I'd bring a bag with a towel and nothing else and these guys can't even exchange a friendly morning salutation while going thru it. Lastly the food, most days my friends and I would eat out of the park to save money, but on our last trip to the park for the year we wanted to go all out and eat in the food, we had been looking forward to the pinks hotdogs. Long story short we ordered food and 20 minutes later we where told the reason my friend still hadn't received her order was becuase they had to thaw out the guacamole. This was 2 hours after they opened. I get that it's high school kids in there, but 14 dollars for a hotdog and 10 dollars for a beer, the service needs to be better, period. My friends and I will not be getting season passes again next year for sure. And I don't recommend anyone else does either. read more

5 Stars for Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas (Fort Apache Location)! We had such a blast here today! Honestly, I was a little hesitant at first because the Yelp reviews are under 3 stars -- but in our experience, this place was easily a 5-star day. We visited on a Thursday and took advantage of their half-price admission deal for the last 3 hours before closing. The weather was perfect, the crowd was super chill and friendly, and the vibe was great -- lots of couples, families, and respectful teenagers just enjoying the afternoon. The park was clean, the staff was polite, and despite what other reviews say, the energy felt really positive. It reminded me that people are way more likely to leave a bad review when something goes wrong than they are to share a great experience -- and this one definitely deserves some love! There are around 10 awesome water slides, and we managed to hit 7 of them in just 90 minutes! We didn't even make it to the wave pool or lazy river, so we're already looking forward to round two next week. My fiancé and I are in our 30s and 40s and had a total blast -- it's not just for kids! In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we upgraded to season passes before we left. It was a great value and even came with a free buddy pass, so we're planning to bring the in-laws soon too. We recently revisited this park, and feel very disheartened. Today, not one staff member (even the front desk) knew what the wristbands were. A manager had to get involved to provide them, and utilizing them at rides was still an issue. It's clear that no meaningful steps have been taken to address this issue since our last visit. The lack of awareness among staff made it difficult to support our clients with special needs in a way that preserves their dignity and avoids unnecessary stress. Unfortunately, our experience at Cowabunga Canyon was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, not a single staff member showed any friendliness--everyone we encountered had an attitude, and some were downright rude. It felt like we were an inconvenience just for being there. One of the most frustrating parts was the policy around outside food. We weren't allowed to bring in even fresh fruit on a hot summer day. The reason? They claim they'd be liable if it spoiled and made someone sick--which makes no sense for food you bring yourself. The staff checking bags were sarcastic about it and didn't handle it professionally. The park only has one refill station for souvenir cups across the entire park. After waiting in a long line, we finally got to the front only to find they didn't even have ice available. Pretty disappointing when it's over 100 degrees outside. As for the rides, they operated way too slowly. Most water rides were running with only 3-6 tubes at a time, which made the wait feel endless. Maybe it was just an off day for the park, but based on this experience, I don't think I'll be returning. The Henderson location is far better in both service and operations. read more
