( more than 18 yrs by now). My hairdresser is Nancy, and she has an amazing hair cutting skill. Once I have a haircut from her, it usually lasts more than 3-4 months with minimal styling from me. And my son's hairdresser is Richard, and he is not just a great hairdresser but also very sweet person. He is the only hairdresser my autistic son trusts! The worst mistake of my life!!! I had very long beautiful hair before I walked in the salon. I went in just for a tiny trim, 2 inches to see how he does. When I was explaining to the owner Richard, he kept saying he knows, he knows, but instead didn't even listen to a word I said. In addition, he was very unfriendly and very arrogant. When it was over, he took 6+ inches off probably because he kept F up!! In addition, it was uneven and not the style I wanted. I would give him 5 negative stars but that option is not available. Richard is a great barber. He's fast, he knows what he's doing, and he know how to give you the haircut you want. I showed him a picture of Ryan Gosling and told him that's what I want. Within 30 minutes, he washed my hair, cut it, rinsed it, styled it, and had me out the door looking very similar to the picture I showed him. My grandpa has been a barber for over 60 years, so I've been spoiled with great haircuts for free my entire life. Richard provides the quality of a high end haircut for a reasonable price. Ugh... I needed to trim my bangs and this place is a block away from my house so I thought I'd give it a try. I realize that all the raving reviews for this salon are for Hiro, who takes her own appointments. However, I didn't come to see Hiro. I called first, and was pretty confused when they answered in Korean. I am Korean, but my Korean is terrible, and this still threw me off since I couldn't tell if I just called some fobby Korean family, or a hair salon. I asked if I could come in for a bang trim (this took a while because her English was so bad), they said come in 30 minutes. Awesome. I got there exactly 30 minutes later, and I walked in. All of the stylists were busy with with clients, and everyone turned around to stare at me, then went back to what they're doing. So I was pretty much standing there awkwardly unacknowledged while they glance over at me periodically like they're thinking, what the hell do you want?? Finally, one of them (the one furthest back) yells at me from across the salon asking what I'm here for. I said I called in for an appointment for a bang trim. They're like, oooooh ok, have a seat. I was pretty livid with their unprofessionalism and was ready to walk out. I took this time to call my regular stylist, but he was all booked for the day. I started perusing on my phone for nearby salons to call to see if they'd take me the same day. But then one of the stylists freed up, and I didn't want to be a bitch. So I sucked it up and let her cut my hair. I didn't like that she wet my hair. Stylists tend to cut hair too short when they wet it. And I wasn't too happy with her technique and the final trim. But the good thing is that she didn't fuck it up (which is the only reason I give it two stars instead of one). So I guess it could've been worse... read more

If only I had two more hands to give this place and especially Richard four thumbs down.. just a simple fade is all I asked and after he messes up he proceeds to say that the fade is a difficult cut.. then why are a hair stylist and charge 25 for a cut?! Everything is uneven and so blotchy. No wonder all the cuts he does is guys with long hair and barely trims them. With that skill you need to work in 10 dollar barber shop. My wife, kids and I have been coming here for years. The Korean ladies that take care of us are all very good with what they do and have always been so friendly. I had a horrible experience today at this place. So bad that I have to wear a baseball cap to work until my hair grows back again. I don't know how I'm going to show up to my meeting Monday morning looking like the way I do. I'm a 50 years old man and never had such a bad haircut in my life. What makes me upset is that I showed a picture of my previous haircut to the Asian lady and she still cut the sides with #0 and left the top almost intact! I can't see without my glasses so when I put them back, all I could say was "what did you do?!". Her response was that this is the new fashion!! I was so upset that I told her I can't leave looking like this so I turned to the other hairstylist lady sitting towards the back of the salon and asked her if she could do some damage control and at least trim the top of my head to blend it in and she was very nice and did the best she could. On the way out, I asked the owner that I wasn't happy and he just said sorry! Don't go to this place and if you do, stay away from the Asian lady with the station near the entrance. I still can't believe she did this to my hair. I'm too embarrassed to post the pictures otherwise you would see what a horrible job she did. Not only was she excellent at returning my calls (we played phone tag at first) she was very knowledgable with the straightening process. She refused to do any part of my hair that was processed and I appreciated the fact she did what was in my best interest. He pulls my hair really hard, it's hurting all through the haircut. At beginning, he just trimming the hair little bit and told me it was done. My goodness!
