Salmon bites are amazing, service was excellent, ambiance was just right. Valet parking!! What's not to love here.

Prickly pear marg was amazing and all I drink is tequila and margs , fresh , worlds best onion rings were actually the worlds best onion rings . Food was amazing can't wait to go back and the ambiance was the icing on the cake :) read more

I was sitting at the bar. Literally burnt by the plate the server was serving. He said oops. Told our server and he said "he gets them all the time". I don't work here don't exp ER to be burnt with zero apologies. Ordered the gumbo which was salty and over priced. Sent it back. One of my worst dining experiences in the valley. Spotted on our way to another restaurant for lunch. Decided on doing dinner here. Called for reservations for 11 and they said absolutely come on in. When we arrived we were taken to this private room. We had the most amazing server, I wish I remembered her name but she was awesome and it was her first week. She was attentive and what every server should be like. The food portions were huge and absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend if your even considering this restaurant! read more

Wellllll this place has totally taken my heart with their roasted garlic plate and $6 margaritas! The roasted garlic plate was enough for 2 and we still had left overs. I also got the enchiladas and although they didn't leave me speechless like the garlic plate did. The margaritas were also a good size for their HH price. Richardson's has excellent New Mexico cuisine. The green chile sauce is wonderful and nicely very spicy. I don't usually like New Mexican red chile sauce because it often tastes like raw chile powder. Not so at Richardson's. It is flavorful, nicely seasoned, and not quite as spicy as the green sauce. Service is well done, and prices are quite reasonable. Whenever we're in the area, Richardson's will undoubtedly be a go-to destination. read more

On of my favorite restaurants in central Phoenix. We arrived Saturday around 5:30- but Richardsons and the Rokery were pretty busy, thankfully the sweet host let us in on the newest secret- Rosie's! the most adorable secret bar, it's located at the old take out door. We happily took seats at the bar- way less people were here. Our server was excellent, the food as always was divine, and he even let us taste their newest drink concoction the boozy julius- which I will 100% be ordering for my next visit! Richardsons is our favorite spot in Phoenix for Sunday brunch. The quality of food is always the same, service is top notch and you get so much food there is always enough to take home for left overs. Oh, did I mention $6 Mimosas and Bloody Mary's. I think we have tried almost everything on the menu. My favorite happens to be the breakfast tacos which are listed on the board. 4 tacos with eggs mixed with your choice of meat or veggies, hash browns and beans on the side. If you are going to be a first timer here, be forewarned, the red and green sauce can have a little heat to them. Valet parking is complimentary and please, just tip the valets. They are fast and take good care of your cars. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

We have been patrons of Richardson's (Rokerij and Dick's) for many years. We have always had excellent service. Today, we were so disappointed. We also watched all the other patrons at the bar express unhappiness at the service. I understand that so many establishments are running short staffed, and we have made every attempt to support our local establishments. However, I cannot begin to express how disappointed we were today. What I can say is that communication goes a long way. Not one single waiter, waitress, or bartender offered any communication. This may sound petty, but an employee stating they apologize for the wait, or thank you for your patience, goes a long way. I watched as several patrons were without drinks or even waited on, just as we sat stagnant at the bar. A couple years ago we were on the quest for the best Bloody Mary. Richardson's always served a mean spicy Bloody so we were looking for a match in the neighborhood. We never found one as good as Richardson's. Today, I sent our Bloody's back and settled for beer. They were bland and all tomato juice. I can say the waiter waived the charge, so thanks for that small gesture. The food was spot on. Hats off to the chef! I'm sure we will give it a second chance in hopes that today's service was just a one off. read more

As a native New Mexican, I have to say it's Amazing food but consistently horrible and neglectful service. I've been there 5 times in the last two years and every visit is the same..... wondering where our server is. They all are nice enough but have to be flagged down just to take your order or get the check! Finally got fed up and decided to write a review. Stick with their sister location Dicks Hideaway down the street. I hate to give this review to a restaurant I love but it is toward an abysmal server (Erich). Been here several times and the food is top-notch. Easter Sunday it is very busy, so I expect snags. Table not ready so we grabbed seats at the bar for our party of four. Placed food orders, wait was a little long but, again, understandable on a busy day. Food came out for everyone but me, told it would be a five minute wait, my order was not put in. Okay, not the end of the world. Food came to me late (Huevos Rancheros) and everything about the order was wrong. Wrong potatoes and beans, and the whole dish was basically an unfried tortilla with a couple of eggs on top smothered in cheese. They slapped this together after they forgot to put my order in. I love the Huevos Rancheros from this restaurant and this was not it. Server acknowledged that he got the potatoes wrong so a few minutes later slapped down a plate of hash browns and said "yeah, we fu*ked up the potatoes so here you go. I can't even believe the nerve of this guy. So I say to my wife next to me "this is the worst Huevos Rancheros I have ever had." Hearing this, the bartender (our server) says "At least they were free." Until this moment I was dealing with the bad experience, but I never asked for anything for free. I drove here from the West Valley to enjoy a restaurant I like with my wife and friends. I never asked for the meal to be comped, nor did the server offer to make anything right. To say "At least it was free" completely disregarded my experience as a customer who wanted to pay for a great meal and drove some distance to get it. I won't say that I won't be back because I usually love the food here, but this will stick in my mind for awhile. On a side note - the friends we came with have been patrons for years and also couldn't believe the behavior of our server. read more

The waitstaff has been hit or miss in the past but in the last year we have only had rude waitstaff that ignore us and when are short. Really surprising and after today we decided not to return, after a particularly frustrating encounter. But the food is always consistently good. We have taken family and friends here many times over the years and everyone appreciates the food. The busboys and kitchen staff have been nice on every visit, helping us when we couldn't find the waiters. Roy is one of the busboys - he has been there nine years. We told him today of our poor service and he apologized and implored us to give the restaurant another chance as the owner is aware of the issues and is in the process of making needed changes. We may return, because of the food and frankly, because of Roy. If his English were just a little bit better, he would make an excellent asset as a waiter. read more

Bring a bottle of water and a ton of patience with you to this place. Food and ambiance are amazing- but the service is consistently atrocious. Even with a reservation, it takes 20 minutes to be seated. Both times I've experienced this there were plenty of open seats, but the host seemed downright confused over what to do with us. The first time he eventually directed us to a table inside, when our reservation was for the patio. Bring a bottle of water with you because once you're finally seated you won't see your server for another 20 minutes. Once they take the drink order (don't expect pleasantness or any level or kindness btw, the vibe is always "annoyed"), you're then waiting another 15 minutes for your table's water, and an additional 10 minutes for your drink order. Once you're about 40 minutes into being there, the server will take your order. Food takes a normal amount of time to arrive and it's amazing!! But your server won't come by to ask if you need anything, or how the food is, or for drink refills. You'll need to flag them down later to ask for your check. There's zero acknowledgment from any of the staff of the delays or "thanks for your patience", so it seems that this is just normal. The absolute minimum time you can get in and out of here is 2 hours, but it's usually closer to 2.5. read more

I have always loved Richardson's, but they have disappointed me tremendously this week. I was looking to have a business dinner with 14 out of town guests there on Saturday 1/28. My colleague called to get a reservation on 1/10 and left a message. She called again twice the following week. When she told me no one had called her back, I called on 1/23, 1/24, and 1/25. No one called me back. I then went down to the restaurant to see if I could get the reservation made and they told me they had nothing but the patio left. Even if the whole restaurant was booked for 1/28 when we called on 1/10 (which I'm sure it wasn't), someone should have returned one of the 6 messages we left. And one other thing while I'm here, ordering an item Christmas style means red and green chile on the WHOLE item, not red chile on half and green chile on half like they do at Richardson's. I am FROM NEW MEXICO, and I have never in my life seen any other restaurant do this, but they look at me like I'm a psychopath when I ask for red and green on the whole item. I want red chile AND green chile in every bite! That is the whole point of Christmas! read more

This is NOT a review about the restaurant!!! This is an internet complaint about one of the servers, Jr. He's incredibly rude! He wasn't personable one bit and came off as snappy. He was demeaning every time he spoke. This is our absolute FAVORITE place to eat and I can't believe that my experience didn't meet my expectations ONLY because of this server. Did Richardson's change something recently? I've been going there for years and usually enjoy their enchiladas and Happy Hour margaritas. Last week for Happy Hour, the margaritas were mostly ice. The enchiladas portions shrunk quite a bit with the plate now 70% rice and beans. Richardson's had always been one of my consistent 5-Star recommendations. I'm only giving this a 2 star because of the food which is always consistently good. The service continues to gets worse and last Sunday on February 13th was the absolute worst it's ever been. Our bartender forgot to put our order in which was obvious to us when we watched more than three tables that ordered after us get their food. My husband went and asked her because she was never around and she then went and ordered it. Our order came out incorrect due to her putting it in incorrectly. This is now over two hours later. We are used to busy Sundays there but this was ridiculous. When we asked her to correct the side on one of the orders she was pretty snippy with that attitude. Considering she's the one that suggested the substitution in the first place and we saw her write it down it added to an already growing unpleasant situation. At the end he had to ask someone else for our check and we still got charged incorrectly that we saw after the fact. He's nicer than I am and just paid the other girl who wasn't even bartending. Service was a huge let down. To start off I called to get a table for 4 and it was weeks out in the Rokerij. We get there and and they tell us we are in the New Mexican side. Service was terrible and took a while to get someone to come to the table. We were initially told we could order food from the Rokerij, but then told by the server we could not. I will say that the food was great, but the service has gone down here. When you spend $300 on a meal we expect to get some descent competent servers. So to make a bad experience worse, we get the bill and they charge for Ice???? This has been a favorite of ours. We won't be back. read more

Don't want to be the one to knock a Phoenix institution, but the Mexican food was really not that great :( If I had expected a seafood restaurant and ordered that (2 ppl at our table did) I think I would be a fan. The seafood was amazing (I got a few bites) but the Mexican food dish I had went to the dirty dish area 3/4 full because I could not eat it. Also, service needs improvement. read more

The variety of food choices on the menu was wonderful. Our table had steaks and Mexican it was prepared as ordered. Our food came to our table hot which isn't always the case in many restaurants. The drinks we had were perfect including the martinis. Our servers were quite attentive to our table . Our reservations were at 5:30 and we were promptly seated. This was our first trip to Richardson's so we weren't sure what to expect, and we couldn't have ended up happier. Although the food was amazing, it was the service that put it over the top. During the pandemic it seems like we are fairly regularly disappointed with service at most places, well NOT at Richardson's. Our server asked if we had been there before, and when he found out we hadn't, made sure that we knew everything was made daily in house and we could ask for samples of anything and were free to make any substitutions we would like. Wow, long time since I've heard that. I had the Chile Rellenos (cheese was amazing, the duck wasn't my thing, but still tasty). My wife had the MIdwestern, which had New Mexican sausage, bacon and ham along with 3 eggs, hash browns and toast. Warning, all portions are huge! We drove 35+ miles looking for something new and it was absolutely worth the drive. We will be returning. read more
