Chorizo stuffed pork chop with twice baked potato
    David B.

Brought out of town friends and once again Richardsons never disappoints. I had the chorizo stuffed pork chop and it was excellent and a big enough portion to have a full meal the next day. The onion ring appetizer is always amazing. Our guest loved everything put down in front of them. The best part of visiting Richardsons (aside from the food) is the eclectic menu. If you are looking for Taco Bell standards this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a great atmosphere with a very unique take on Mexican then Richardsons should be your first choice in Phoenix. Don't let the under 4 Yelp rating fool you, this is one of the best places in Phoenix and i cannot recommend it high enough! "FIMP" Food is my Passion

The food was delicious, service was speedy, and the atmosphere was unique. I loved the booths. I highly recommend their pasta- the sauce was delicious and the duck tasted amazing. Their New Mexican platter was also filling and well worth the cost. Overall, very much worth the visit- just be aware that parking is vallet only :)

Omar was an amazing server he was attentive and funny. We love coming here and sitting outside on such a nice day. The food was amazing as always. The chilaquiles ribeye was such a great price and tasted amazing. The New Mexico enchiladas pork was great as it always is.

We met friends here for lunch yesterday. I was a little worried about ordering the right "heat" for me since this is NM-style food. But, our waitress was so helpful and described the dishes perfectly! I had the Chimayo Chicken and it was delicious! The different flavors and textures were so good. The signature mashed potatoes tasty and the asparagus was perfectly cooked. This was a wonderful spot for lunch on a hot summer day. Stop in!

One of my favorites breakfasts in Phoenix. This place has excellent southwestern style food. For breakfast I highly recommend Vic's meatloaf and eggs. It is ridiculous. Service is always top notch. I usually sit at the bar but I've also sat at a table and it's been flawless every time. Coffee is good. Even the water is great; comes in an ice cold carafe for the table. The vibe is quintessential uptown Phoenix. It's southwest (New Mexican) but slightly upscale. It would be great for a date, a group meal, and drinks. The bar is fully stocked and fairly social. Friendly vibes all around. And, as is typical on Sunday morning, people are drinking mimosas my 8:30am . Also, the lighting is perfect. Lighting makes such a huge difference. Here the color is warm, dim, but not dark. It is both intimate and inviting. Great vibe. Food is spicy, tasty, authentic, and delicious. They've been here for years and I can see why. An uptown gem.

My Dad is visiting from California and LOVES southwestern food so I took him to Richardson's for brunch. They serve brunch everyday till 4pm, which is awesome. We both had a Bloody Mary that comes with all the fixings and side of beer. My Dad ordered the Richardson's combo which was one Jalapeño Benedict & 2 Chicken Enchiladas with a side of asparagus. The asparagus was cooked perfect. It was crisp, bright green, and complimented the meal and sauces. I ordered a vegetarian Jalepeno Benedict with pinto beans and hash browns which was delicious! The portions are huge! My Dad loved it so much he was like John Candy in the Great Outdoors trying to finish the Old 96er! We ended up bringing left overs home, ha! Richardson's is the best New Mexican cuisine you will find in Arizona, hands down!

OK, I'm coming in hard. I usually judge Mexican restaurant by it in a new Mexican restaurant especially a new Mexican restaurant by green chili enchiladas with an easy egg on top which should consist of a garnishment of shredded lettuce and tomatoes as well. Onions is optional generally, I don't do the onion, but I don't mind if they put them on there but anyway that's what I considered to be a enchilada for whatever reason, I don't know the enchilada I have just didn't take me back to New Mexico. It didn't remind me of that Southwest 505 vibe. My wife come to understand is this is actually New Mexico food from the 575 which is closer to Las Cruces and El Paso Ruidoso and of course they have a different way of doing enchiladas there. I understood that that's when I realize why the chicken was so chunky it just seemed under prepared to me to enroll in. I don't know what I expect from the chicken but not just a chicken thrown into a tortilla and rolled up with some sauce over it. I'm not saying that's what I got the food. Here was excellent. It was very good for southern New Mexican food. I will go back for a special occasion. Maybe if I have a driver for some beverages I wasn't able to try a cocktail but that look like an excellent area bar and a cocktail area. Oh yeah, that's where it was jumping and the seating area was cozy and personal. I really love the way the table set up was it's very comfortable in homie feeling as far as I'll be on so yeah it's 120% on ambience. I'll just have to take a trip to Southern New Mexico and get used to the enchiladas out that way, but it was delicious. I recommend everybody try it at least once valet parking is mandatory

I love the ambiance of this restaurant. The inside has dimmed lighting with candles on every table, the outside patio is surrounded in greenery and also a vibe. I stopped by for happy hour 4-6 on a Monday and the restaurant was not busy at all so the service was prompt. I got a house margarita and smoked peach margarita (Had a Smokey favor) We had the queso & chips and ordered carne asada enchiladas with the habanero sauce! My mouth was on fire but in a good way lol so if you like spice get the habanero!

Elevated NM food and it's the best! Whether it's Richardsons, Rokerij or Dick's Hideaway your always in for a treat and they have some of the best NM Chile around. We mostly come here for brunch and every meal is amazing! If you can stand the heat I highly recommend trying the level 2 green chile!

This restaurant was recommended by a colleague. We dined here for the first time for dinner. They have an expensive patio, which looked great, but I was overruled. We ate inside, which is nice and dark. Our service this trip was very slow. Secondly, we were charged for 3 glasses of wine we did not order. We ordered the Cadillac Margarita 4.5/5, Taos Combo 4/5, NEW MEXICAN QUESO 3/5 (more spinach dip than queso), QUESADILLAS Chicken 4/5, BACON WRAPPED GRILLED SHRIMP 5/5, and salmon off blackboard 4/5. Huge portions.

By far the best breakfast in the entire value. We've been there a couple dozen times and it never fails to deliver. A diverse menu, unmatched service, and great cocktails. You really can't go wrong. It's the one place I make sure I take guests who are visiting the valley. Dinner is spectacular as well.

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. We arrived about an hour before closing and sat down as we normally do. While I was walking to the restroom, which is located past the kitchen area, I heard a server/bartender we've seen several times before ask the cook, in an obviously annoyed tone, if two people had just arrived. When he said yes, she responded, "Who the fuck!?" The cook then looked directly at me. At that point, I honestly felt extremely uncomfortable and wanted to leave. We decided to stay since my boyfriend had already ordered a beer, but the experience immediately felt different. We felt like our presence was an inconvenience simply because we came in an hour before closing. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. We ordered the beef skewers and a burger. The skewers were okay, but they were not nearly as good as we remembered them being. The burger, however, arrived completely cold. What makes this especially disappointing is that we used to really enjoy coming here. We understand that being close to closing time can be frustrating for a restaurant, but customers should still feel welcomed, especially when they are coming in well before closing and have supported the restaurant in the past. We really hope this was just a bad night, because we genuinely used to love coming here. But after this experience, we unfortunately left feeling very disappointed.

A steak place that doesn't know how to cook steak ... And get orders correct…read more With a party of 13, we decided to reserve the private room in the back. At first everything was running smoothly until the food came out. Most everyone got the steaks or some special. Here were the first problems: - Not everyone got steak knives after asking 3 times. - 2 ribeye steaks were overcooked (asked for medium rare and got well done). - 1 fillet steak was still alive when asked for well done. - All plates were made out of metal so it burnt your hand when touching (made an infant cry instantly). - Brussel sprouts were cooked whole, too big to take one bite and was incredibly greasy. - Someone got the wrong salad. - Someone got the wrong vegetables. So that's where the downfall began. I usually don't enjoy complaining but when a restaurant is advertised as being high-end, I expect more, and there was more ... just more issues. We asked for a refry on these steaks. It took them so long that everyone else finished eating already. When they came out, we got more problems: - 1 ribeye didn't have a bone for some reason (but everyone did). - 1 "fillet" steak was actually a ribeye cut covered in sauce to hide it. Here comes the unprofessionalism from the staff. When asked about the ribeye bone, she just said that "they" removed it for you. I'm asking, "Why?" An $85 ribeye should always have the bone. I never asked to take it off. The ignorance continues with the "fillet." I know what a fillet looks like and when asked about the cut, the waitress had the audacity to say, "They flattened the fillet for you..." I'm asking, "Why?" We all knew what a fillet looks like compared to a ribeye. It wasn't a fillet. What professionally trained chef would ever flatten a fillet? How ignorant do you have to be to even say this? The ridiculousness continued with the floor manager coming in, apologizing, gave our first round of drinks for free, 1 steak for free and gave us a business card to contact the general manager. Wait. What? It's a Saturday night, during MLB spring training and the GM isn't around? And you want us to contact them? You want us to do your work for you, to contact the GM? In the end, I'm only frustrated because the steak was $85 and it felt like I could have cooked this better at home. The steak looked like you bought it at Trader Joe's. This whole experience, was not the waitress' fault. She was dealt with a difficult situation because of the back-of-house, the designer of the restaurant and everything else around her. Who is expediting the food? Who is in charge on a Saturday night? Who is the chef? Does this person know the basics of cooking and plating? Who here cares about their food? Who designed the metal plates to be burning hot to guest? I think I found a new nominee for Kitchen Nightmares. If you want to try this place, get the steak well-done if you want medium-rare. That's what I've learned this weekend.

I ordered the red chilaquiles and it was served with the blue chips, now normally authentic chilaquiles are made with corn tortillas that are fried specifically for that dish, but some people use regular premade chips. The chilaquiles had beans mixed in with it, which I didn't really care for and not a lot of red sauce. My friend ordered the chicken posole which she didn't like at all and she also ordered the red chilaquiles and did not like them. My wife ordered a red tamale and she also didn't care for it. So basically none of us cared for any of the food and we were pretty excited about going there because we had gone to the south location many years ago and really liked it. The service was very good and the prices were not too bad either. So like I said earlier, it's still worth a try because you may like the type of food that they serve so I still recommend trying the place but for us when a party of three orders different things and nobody likes anything.
