I had the hatch chile mac and cheese with the smoky mushroom and it was absolutely delicious - quite spicy so make sure you can handle the heat! I also had a hatch chile cornbread muffin - the side of honey butter was a really nice touch, it's delicious. I'm a vegetarian and picked two items from the main menu, but they also have a dedicated plant-based menu. Many craft beer options on tap, and beautiful cocktails as well. The inside is perfectly dark and a bit goth with great decoration. I thought the TVs playing sports took away from the vibes a bit but I get that some people want that. A bit disappointed that the bathrooms were not in the theme, but everything else is beautiful. It took a bit of time to get our food, but I recognize I went at a busy time on a Friday evening. My wife and I,along with my in-laws checked with place on a Wednesday night for dinner. When you go in, there's a lot going on. It's a little dark, but there are some light chandeliers. There's a bar with TVs along the wall. There are tables against the wall and in the middle of the floor. They try to accommodate both large crowds and couples. It's kind of has a New Orleans vibe, without the jazz. There's art everywhere. Very different. I had the meat loaf and garlic mashed potatoes. It was awesome. I love meat loaf and they made it as close to what my mom used as any restaurant I've been to. The one downside is parking. We had to park down the street. Luckily the business where the car was left, was closed. I don't live in the Phoenix area, but next time I'm in town, I will make a point of suggesting we return. read more

We came on a Friday night so we were able to choose a prime rib dish. I believe they also offer it on Saturdays. Food: Prime rib quesadilla.. I see why it's so popular! It came with au jus sauce and horseradish. Great choice as an appetizer. Happy hour green chile queso and chips: a lot of the sauce is at the bottom of the dish so stir up the chips as the sauce collects at the bottom. It thankfully wasn't spicy. Mushroom taco dish: very bold and flavorful. I ordered love craft style with the guacamole and slaw. This is my family's favorite thing to order time and time again.. Green chile burger: very good! We went for happy hour today and it was excellent. Cannot wait to go back. The food was fantastic. It's one of the best and most interesting menus I've seen in awhile. I had tacos and a margarita and both were terrific and very tasty. We ordered two nacho and queso dishes for table and everyone loved them. The grilled meat is the big draw here. Service was attentive, friendly and fast. We were never left waiting and at the end, our server sorted the checks efficiently and got everyone the right bill. The ambiance is good and comfortable. My friend and I have been wanting to go to Lovecraft for a while and unfortunately we went on a rainy day after we had already had dinner. Unfortunately because the menu looks dope and they have a whole plant based menu! And we couldn't sit on the rooftop because it's not rain proof. The inside though is nice and dark and moody. I love the way they display their wine on the wall and they have mead! They also have a ton of beer on tap and you can actually see the color displayed in glasses on the wall. I don't drink beer but it looked really pretty. Service was good and the only reason to give 4 stars is the guacamole (the only food we got) was fairly bland but we added their hot sauce both red and green and it made it much better. The chips were warm and salty. Also it was pretty pricey for getting two glasses of wine, 2 glasses of mead and guac and chips!!! $80!!!! Prickly Pear Margarita: light, sweet, and not overly limey. Don't get the salted rim unless you're craving a full-on salt lick experience. The Other Daiquiri: fruity, sweet, and gives big "New Orleans, third hurricane, questionable decisions pending" energy. Loved it. Cup Green Chile Stew: okay. Stop everything. This is green chile brisket and pork. Never seen that before, and now I want it everywhere. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but it's basically a bowl of incredibly tender meat bathing in glorious seasoned grease. Intense, meaty, spicy perfection. Tortillas come out warm and pliable like they're auditioning for a tortilla calendar. This is a 12/10 must-order situation. I'd come back for this alone. North Carolina BBQ Sandwich: pulled pork, vinegar slaw, vinegar sauce. Flavor was solid and the sauce had the perfect tang, but the bun desperately needed a toast because it fell apart like it just wasn't emotionally prepared for this sandwich. Queso fries were exactly what you'd expect: frozen fries and queso politely coexisting. Pozole: deep red, rich, and just the right amount of greasy, the kind of comforting greasy that fixes you from the inside out. Hominy still had bite, broth was flavorful. No notes. Overall, this place hits the vibe, the service, and the food. A couple tiny misses but nothing even close to a dealbreaker. Between the cocktails, the rooftop, and that absolutely ridiculous green chile stew, this spot is officially going into our regular rotation. If you follow them on Social media you'll see them post random specials throughout the week that are very creative and I'm sure taste amazing. I've been here a few times and the food and drinks have been stellar every time. Service is great. They understand the menu and do a great job of explaining the dishes and the creative specials I mentioned. It's an interesting ambience that feels dark and cool on the inside. When the weather is good they have covered seating on the roof. The food though is what this place is all about. They call themselves a New Mexican Inspired Smoke Kitchen. Lots of New Mexican chilis in the dishes for the right kick of spice and smoke. This is a great place to come for drinks if you are somehow not hungry. A wide selection of local craft beers and an interesting cocktail menu that rotates seasonal choices and includes infused spirits. We were looking for a bar/ lounge just for drinks and found this hidden gem. The décor is mesmerizing and quite unique whether for a romantic evening or a get together. What impressed me the most was the age range of the clientele ! From young to older it was nice to see a place that appeals to so many different generation. I can't believe I've been driving past LoveCraft every week for the past 3 years and only just tried it, thanks to a friend's recommendation. Honestly, I'm kicking myself for not coming sooner! This place is cozy, creative, and so uniquely decorated. Everywhere you look, there are little conversation pieces that make the atmosphere feel fun and memorable. My boyfriend and I couldn't decide, so we split the Smoked Rib Quesadilla and the Hatch Green Chile Burger. Both were incredible. The quesadilla had rich, smoky flavor that I kept going back to, and the burger was juicy and packed with flavor (just a little messy, but in that good "worth it" kind of way). One thing that really stood out, they serve water in old recycled liquor bottles, which we thought was such a cool touch. We're not big drinkers (maybe once or twice a year), but the bottle itself caught our attention, and we ended up asking for a sample of the actual drink. It was the Superstition Meadery - Peanut Butter Jelly, in case you're curious Let's just say... it was absolutely delicious, and now we have a new favorite to add to the list. (Pic in review!) Having said that, my family and I won't be returning as the entrees and the beer wasn't what we were looking for. My entree was the BBQ plate and the chicken was completely shredded and not in chunks like every other place I've had it. I ordered this because I didn't want the sandwich, but eating it with the fork is just awkward. My mom ordered the Mac and cheese. It arrived room temperature and they had to reheat it. She said it didn't have much flavor. My dad ordered enchiladas and said it was has to cut through and didn't care for the flavor. He didn't finish his craft beer, which is rare. Ambience was 11/10- super cool interior, beautiful vining plants covering the entrance area, and a really cool looking rooftop area that you request to eat in. The servers were also really friendly. However, the food and service itself was sadly underwhelming, especially for the price, the wait was over 40 minutes (even though there was a table available for the size of our party the entire time, they just hadn't set it), and after we ordered it took like **an hour** to get our food. We ordered chips & guac- these were good! Chips were greasy but nice and crispy and salty. I got the BBQ plate and honestly it looked like something I'd make at home. The meat, fries, coleslaw, and BBQ sauce all being in separate ramekins really made the meal feel disconnected & reminded me of when I have a mix of leftovers at home. I got the vinegar BBQ sauce since it was recommended with the pork, but it tasted just like a small bowl of red wine vinegar. The vinegar coleslaw was about the same. Meat tasted smoky so that was nice, but it wasn't anything special. The fries were not good, hard without being crispy and didn't taste fresh. I almost forgot the worst part!! My brother in law ordered an old fashioned that never came, and when he brought up nicely that he ordered one but hadn't recieved it yet the wisitress fervently declared that he never ordered one and may have entertained the idea- but surely she never got an order. This was after my sister in law ordered beans and rice for her baby and only received beans (she was also told that she never ordered any rice). They also never refilled our waters, and we were there for quite a while since it took our food an hour to come out. Also got charged extra for 2oz of alternative BBQ sauce. I did enjoy the smoky old fashioned ordered, but again nothing special. The place itself really is what you're paying for. Our server was fantastic as he really helped guide us with each phase of our meal. I was looking for a low calorie drink and he suggested the spicy jalapeño margarita. It was top notch!
