They took the time to explain all my options, from different tint shades to the benefits of various ceramic coating. The window tint came out absolutely beautiful....clean edges, no bubbles, and it gives the Passport a sleek and upgraded look. One of the main reasons I wanted the tint was to help keep the interior cooler -- we have a dog who is always with us, and comfort (and safety) is top priority. The tint has already made a noticeable difference in cooling down the cabin and also in keeping the temperature down in our dog's car crate. The ceramic coating is equally impressive. The paint has a deep, glossy shine that honestly looks better than when I drove it off the lot. Water and dirt just slide right off, and cleaning the car now takes half the effort. A friend of mine brought his 87 Monte and we were not pleased with the work and experience we had with Richie. He had this car for 6 months made excuses about why it was taking so long including using COVID as one. To start certain materials that were used on this job were of cheap quality. After several conversations through text, 6 months later picking up feeling frustrated already. Noticed the control switch to the seats was covered. They had upholstered the seats without installing the seat controls. The wires and computer were tangled on the passenger floor (picture added). The speakers were not connected, when they disconnected them. Moonroof liner where you open and close was not done (picture added). The radio face was scratched including the Paint on the hood (picture added). Once we left the shop the amp wasn't put back in the car had to backtrack the next day to pick it up. We had expressed the unsatisfactory of his work and the experience stepping in and out of his shop.He denied having any involvement with the issues we found and said "I don't know how that happened". (If you don't know what's going on in your shop then don't run one). Instead of listening and working something out, he became unprofessional and began to have an attitude. He will also begin to call out offerings he did on his own for a customer without asking, to try and make you feel ungrateful, and to justify his actions. Money here is more important than the reputation and quality of work to these guys. 90% of the time shop owners think just because they have tons of positive reviews, a few negative reviews are no big deal. True colors expose themselves when there is a job gone WRONG. It's about how well and professional you are when responding and LISTENING to an unsatisfied customer. As a consumer rather its hundreds or thousands spent. It about standing by your referral and making sure a job is done correctly. If there are issues on the way you work them out professionally. Understanding the range of work spent on the perfect image of artistic expression and the time it takes to save money, to trust someone with your art is not easy. And to get it back like this is UNACCEPTABLE. Anyone who owns classics themselves - will understand. We don't recommend this shop. read more

This guy is a magician his work is unlike anything I've ever seen before and the craftsmanship and detail is amazing if you are even considering having work done here and are turning to reviews to base your decision. TRUST ME THIS GUY IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! His like a plastic surgeon that is highly sought after as far as body beautification for interior work goes he intensifies the natural beauty of classic cars and has a certain unique skill to be able to envision and bring a design to life that no one else could see is magical.if you have an opportunity to let this guy work on a car for you it's going to be the second best thing you did aside from buying the car.The guys here are true artist,the business is family run so the talent is obviously genetically implanted into them it is very hard these days to find a good business you can trust and know your in good hands you will not regret going here I promise. read more

Well, well, well, Richie's Upholstery is back on my radar, and not for good reasons. I wrote a review back in 2021, and it seems some things never change. If you're looking for a place that can't handle criticism, this is it! Let's be real: there's a special kind of talent in turning customer dissatisfaction into a personal attack. It's mind-boggling to see an owner who reacts to feedback like it's an episode of reality TV. If you can't handle a little critique about your work, maybe it's time to consider a different profession--preferably one that doesn't involve dealing with people. So, to anyone contemplating a visit to Richie's Upholstery: do yourself a favor and steer clear. You'll save your sanity and avoid the headache of dealing with someone who clearly can't take a hint. Trust me, there are plenty of other upholstery shops out there that value their customers instead of belittling them. read more

Make sure whatever work you are having done is put in writing and take picture before work is done. I was told by Richie what work he was going to do to my drivers seat and then when I went to pick up the vehicle, the work was not done as promised. He denied ever saying what work was going to be done and the back of the seat where the took it a part was not even fastened. He tried to say it was that way when vehicle was brought in! He said he would fix it and bring it back next week. I was already there and refused to fix it then. I am going to pay someone else to do it right...BEWARE of this place, they are not honest Sir, I can assure you this isn't a fake review. You seem extremely sensitive to criticism. read more

I had a small upholstery repair that other auto upholstery shops wouldn't even touch. the dealership would replace the part at an incredibly high price. But, one dealer in the area recommended Ritchie's and it was the best recommendation. I took my car into Ritchie's and Ritchie could not have been more friendly, accommodating, and most importantly, knowledgeable! I was recommended by some friends to go see Richie's Custom Upholstery in Simi Valley to replace my loose headliner on my 2005 Mini Cooper S. To my surprise they were familiar with this repair process and had the same color and better material than the factory! They also gave me a ride home. The price was reasonable and the job was professionally completed in less than day! I have more upholstery work required on my truck and will be going back to have it repaired soon. I stumbled across Richies Custom Upholstery on social media. I have to say I am extremely satisfied with their work. They are profecionals at what they do great prices and work was done in a timely manner. I took my 2004 silverado with a sagging headliner and they brought it back to life replacing it with a awsome looking suade headliner, they went above and beyond matching all plastics clips and pillars in the same color I was not expecting the extra work done. Fantastic. Family run for over four decades. Had my California Car Cover trailer cover repaired with Richie, because California Car Cover would not do the work. Richie did a phenomenal job at a reasonable price. I received the cover back when it was promised. No more California Car Cover. I took my car in to get an estimate for a sail panel that was coming apart. As soon as I drove up, the some of the owner came out to check out my car, and he was raving about it. He then called his father over and he took a look at the panel, said he could fix it right away. 15 minutes later it looked perfect and I could tell both of these gentleman love their business and have a passion for old cars I would highly recommend them for their service. Richies did an excellent job repairing my 2003 Altima leather seat. The side was worn and falling apart due to exit and entry. The rest of the seat was fine. Richie repaired just that section. There are 22 tabs on each cap. The driver side had 4 tabs left and the passenger side had 5 left. To your credit you did offer to refund the money I paid but i felt obligated to not accept a refund since i agreed up front that a "few" tabs might be broken and i did not inspect the caps at your shop. I was told that quotes would be emailed to me, but neither my wife nor I ever received them. Working directly with the owner was always a pleasant experience. He was professional, approachable, and genuinely cared about the outcome. However, the day-to-day communication and follow-through from his second-in-command left room for improvement. Overall, these are good people who do quality work and stand behind what they do. With some attention to basic business management practices--particularly communication and customer follow-up--they could provide an even better customer experience.
