He told me I could just drive in for an estimate, and he'd drop everything to help me right away--no waiting, no appointment needed. When I got there, I let him know I was there, and he said he'd be with me soon. But I ended up waiting about 20 minutes while he chatted with a friend in his office. Only when he saw me heading out to my truck did he finally wrap up the talk and come over. Too late--I don't like being lied to or having my time wasted. Walked in to get a quote on my Tesla Model 3 steering wheel I have some rips in the steering wheel. Spoke with the guy in the front to get an estimate to re wrap the wheel. Buddy said it would be $2,000 lol. All other places that have given me quotes is in the $600-$800 range. And Tesla themselves quoted me $1,200 for an entirely brand new steering wheel. Don't waste your time or money. While the work done installing my convertible top was barely passable, the overall experience was a real bust. First I was quoted a super high rate. We negotiated the price to a slightly more acceptable rate. I was told it would take two days. It took four. When I arrived I was informed I had promised to pay in cash. I had not. This is, of course, their way of not having to pay taxes. Don't worry I'll pay taxes for both of us Richie. When I returned with the cash, the only way I could get my car, Richie Jr told me, "Hey I washed the windshield too." I just had a brand new windshield installed by another REPUTABLE vendor and it was clean. Come to find out they had over sprayed (don't know why they would be painting anything) and he tried to cover his tracks. I know this because my chrome window trim is now black. This left all of my windows, rear view mirror and windshield in particular, extremely foggy and streaked. And my car now smells like industrial cleaner. The final cut was when I realized my top had been forced closed so there are now huge gaps at all windows. I guess Richie didn't like that I didn't want the up sell on the new gaskets and insulation. In addition, now that I've had the car and the time to drive and "operate" the top this is a ONE STAR REVIEW. THERE ARE HOLES AND STAPLES SHOWING THROUGH THE TOP WHERE THE INSTALLER MISSED THE CROSSBAR. HOLES IN A CONVERTIBLE TOP. AND THE INSTALL IS EXTREMELY SLOPPY. RIP OFF. read more

He explains what needed to be done, no short explanations & answered all the questions I had. The pricing I felt was pretty good so I was appreciative. It's a family business from his pops to siblings that work there. They all are pretty humble. With that being said they are busy so do expect that. I have a 2002 BMW e39 M5 with 150K miles. The side bolster on the driver's side became worn through. The car is otherwise great shape and I love it. As such, I was very nervous about having any work done. Ritchie Jr was amazing. He was very patient with me as we went through to carefully match the leather. The job was done in a timely and professional manner. The results were outstanding. The leather is not quite as glossy as before, but I suspect that as it continues to wear, and as the body oils continue to transfer, it will improve. I had worn gray leather on my driver seat and met Richie in this friendly and busy shop. I told him I'm no expert on how to replace this, and asked him if it's even worthwhile; he said yes, and could make it seem like new again. As my tattered left-side driver bottom seat bothered me so, I agreed. He and another worker assessed my old leather with various swatches of leather samples and he said the foam would need to be replaced too. I paid cash (he generously discounted $40) and I told him that I was in no rush. "They're the experts", I thought, so I even let them borrow my leather head-restraint for a few days to ensure a great match. Service was friendly and approachable, but the new replacement leather did not match (see photo...maybe I'm wrong!). There are bigger problems in this world of course, so I initially thought it was just me being nit-picky. But as the first few days passed, this mismatch in color/grain became more noticeable to me. I called to state this and the senior manager/owner said that I should have brought in my own sample and/or code from the dealer to ensure the match...quite the different story than when I first came in! I guess I will have to now tolerate this repair (sigh). read more

They all did a great job on my car! I was looking to get the sagging headliner on the car fixed as well as all the sagging material on the A B and C pillars. We decided to go with an Alcantara layer with a foam padding layer underneath and they managed to do everything super neatly and it came out awesome. Everything was fairly priced and I paid for parts upfront then labor after the job was done. Fair warning it is cash or check only. He estimated the job might take two days but her finished it in one and I picked it up next day. Super nice guy and all his customers have great things to say about him. I don't trust many people with my car so I'm glad he was able to do the whole job scratch and dent free. He was even able to give me a referral to a local guy to help me out with my rotting window trim. Might bring my car back here to get the seats redone as well! read more

REPEAT SATISFIED CUSTOMER: Back in the summer of 2016 I needed the torn and ripped parts of the leather driver's seat of my 2008 Acura TL fixed/replaced. I received several bids from local shops around Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. I also called local car dealers to find out which shop they use to fix upholstery on used cars that are traded in, as I figured car dealers would know who to go to. All of the local dealers said they have been using Ritchie's for decades, so I felt that was a great sign. In addition, the price Ritchie Sr. quoted me was 100% more reasonable than the other shops I contacted. I went ahead and used this shop and was glad I did. They did an excellent job and it still looks great after 4 1/2 years. Now in 2021 I needed part of the passenger seat that was torn/old to be replaced. I returned to Ritchie's this week and they replaced it perfectly. This shop is family owned, has great customer service with reasonable prices along with great work.
