This place is spacious great for big gatherings, sporting events and like this Saturday night DJ CAMILO (who's always great). I've come here a few times and every time the disappointment increases. The service besides the people at the door charging was atrocious to say the least. We had to stop servers 3 times to get served and finally went to the bar where the bartenders are rude, obnoxious and with an entitlement complex. Every time I ordered from who seemed like the head bartender (Gabby) she had a nasty distasteful look on her face. I then proceeded to order drinks from another bartender and left my wallet at the table, by the time I reached in my bag to get it, gabby, with a full bar, was tapping my shoulder, saying " you have to pay for that" I proceeded to show her what I was doing and all she could say is hurry up, (mind you my table was in front of the bar. The stench of racial tension was evident, welcome to Staten Island south shore. What I just experienced ordering delivery from them was a complete joke. I placed an order online from their actual website (not a third party) and was missing a French onion grilled cheese. I checked my email and saw that I had ordered it, but it wasn't in the bag. I call and they said they will get one out. An hour and 10 mins later, and 2 phone calls added phone calls I get this ice cold shriveled up sad excuse for a grilled cheese, let alone a $20 one. No fries, and what looks like a kids menu grilled cheese with French's crispy onion in it. How do you even send that out as a make up for your own mistake??!! My family and I visited Richmond Republic this past Sunday for brunch, and unfortunately, the experience was a letdown from start to finish. We were the second party to arrive right at opening and were seated promptly, which gave us hope for a smooth meal. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. Despite being one of the first groups there, it took 30 minutes just to receive water. During that time, another party arrived--apparently with a reservation for a draft football event--and the staff's attention noticeably shifted. We waited another 20-25 minutes for our food, only for it to arrive cold. Even more frustrating, a party that arrived after us not only received their meals first but had already eaten and left before our dishes even made it to the table. To make matters worse, when my husband and brother-in-law ordered beers, they both said the beers tasted stale and old. I ordered a tea, hoping for something warm and comforting, but it was already cold by the time it arrived. It was really disappointing to see such poor coordination, inattentive service, and a lack of care for the food and drinks--especially considering how empty the restaurant was when we arrived. I wanted to try a few things so I went ahead and did the soup and salad. The Lobster bisque was okay, I was hoping their were chunks of lobster but it was bits and shreds. I had the salt and pepper calamari which was really good. For entree I went with the scallops and asparagus with purée cauliflower. It was really tasty and the scallops were a nice size. I wish the purée was a bit thicker but it was good. I enjoyed my meal in a nice quiet setting. However they were setting up for their Friday dinner crowd. I was surprised to get reservations on a Fri night last minute, usually this place is booked. Every time I walk in the dining room has so many empty tables and no one is even waiting to be seated yet we have to wait, including tonight and I was 15 mins early. Two other parties came in overheard same time, they're waiting as well. Too unorganized when it comes to that. Anyway the only reason I come here is because of the endless menu of beers and cocktails, so many choices! The burgers are pretty good. The appetizers are even better. The table was seated at almost 8:30 PM, food ordered only at 9 PM! The food only got to the table at nearly 10 PM! It's a Friday night and they're busy, I get it, but I think a 3 hour wait for actual food, all things considered, is a tad ridiculous. It's also quite common practice even when they aren't busy, like early in the evening when there are clearly numerous tables that are empty. Our waitress was pleasant, which was nice, and did a good amount of checking in which is nice considering how busy she was. Overall, it's a good place for Staten Island but definitely do not be in a time crunch when going! If you plan on going somewhere post dinner, plan ahead for extra time! Happily ventured to the "forgotten borough" today, well worth the trip. Initially felt like a strange locale until we realized it's right at the last stop of the Staten Island Railroad and a short trip from the massive suburban mall. Very excited that Richmond Republic made their debut in the neighborhood. It is such a good space , they have a pool table and some games all the way in the back. A beautiful brick wall that separates the dining room from the bar where there you will find some high top tables. Since they just opened, they have a limited menu at the moment. However, they had a wide variety to choose from. My boyfriend and I ordered the freshly baked giant pretzel and this absolutely stole the show. It was so hot, nice and buttery, came with three dipping options. Every time I come here in the future , I will be ordering this. Then we ordered the salt & pepper fried calamari. This was good, your usual calamari and I would order if you were in the mood for it. For entrees I got the fish tacos - they were prepared with double tortillas which is great so the tortilla doesn't rip. However, made it a little dry. It would benefit from a little extra sauce and the sauce it came with on the side was delicious. My bf went with the burrata burger - was something, I think the bun soaked up most of pesto. So a stronger pesto would enhance the burger a bit. My bf added some of the sauce on the side of the tacos to the burger. The fries that came as a side were hot, crispy and delicious!
