I love how family is so tied in as it's noticed within the workers and the artwork on the walls, my eye was drawn to the mural across the bathrooms, how beautiful! Felt like I walked into an old school episode of Cheers, but I'm open to see the menu and what's what. Server greeted us from where she was and said we can sit anywhere. These wings....I am a wing expert, 10/10. Request all flats, approved, the sauce was a mix of teriyaki and Buffalo, amazing, perfectly cooked, fresh, I ate every single thing on my plate. Today was my first time here and I was really pleased with the dining experience. My son and I went in for lunch and the food was great. But what set it apart even more than that was the hospitality we encountered. A lovely woman named Maureen waited on us and she was delightful and attentive. She made us feel welcome and as a result we really enjoyed our lunch. I loved my pastrami sandwich and my son raved about the turkey special. He had cheesecake afterwards which was also delicious. We've ordered out from here multiple times. Last order was so disappointing. French fries and onion rings were dry and hard. My pastrami sandwich on a hero was flavorless. I had to add American cheese and broil it. My husband's burger was just okay. Seems like they only thing we have loved in the past was there Philly cheesesteak. Wanted to stroll down memory lane today when visiting the Island. Jody's was my first choice. I have spent many nights here in my youth. This is a nice neighborhood pub/sports bar. It reminds me of going to Cheers where every body knows your name. True story, I met up with two people that I haven't seen in about 10 years. Came here earlier today with my brother to catch a little playoff football. We arrived at about 12:15 and was able to grab two spots at the bar. After catching up with old friends for awhile, we ordered a couple of Bloody Marys before the start of the game. Jody's Club Forest opened in 1976. It was one of the first bars on Staten Island to have DirectTV so the patrons could watch Sunday football with friends. For an appetizer we had an order of Buffalo Wings. I kept going down memory Lane going by ordering the Corned Beef Sandwich with Swiss Cheese on Rye, it was just as I remembered. My brother had the cheeseburger. We also split a side of fries. They also have a somewhat limited Brunch menu. So if you are on the Island, give Jody's a try. Why only 3 stars? I just wasn't blown away with the food.Maybe you will be. Slainte! read more

I don't often write reviews, but I felt I needed to here. My husband and I went to Jodys - I've never been there before but I was looking forward to it because I've always heard such good things about it. First and foremost, the people who work there couldn't be nicer. Wonderful service. The problem was the food. My husband got a chicken parm plate and I got the chicken adobo. Granted, these are not typical items that one orders from a bar restaurant, but I was trying to eat as healthy as possible. A few bites into my chicken, I knew something wasn't right. The meat was very tough and had a weird taste to it. I pulled back the stuff that was on top of it, and I saw that the meat was actually a pale greyish color. I was very turned off by how it looked. I tried to cut off the bad pieces, but it felt like the entire piece wasn't right. When you cut through it wasn't the usual white color. I stopped eating it immediately. I only had a few bites, but my stomach felt upset for a few hours after we ate (and I have a stomach of steel). I'm not suggesting that this dish is representative of the overall experience of the food there - maybe it was just the exception to the rule. But due to the disgust factor I felt, I will not be returning back. $42 for food we both didn't really enjoy. What a shame. read more

I've been here only twice despite living rather close by. It's a great place to watch a game and it's a place where everyone seems to know one another. The burgers are served on an English muffin which I love and it stands up to the juiciness of the burger. Burgers are flavorful and are accompanied by either fries, waffle fries, onion rings or tator tots. The teryachi wings are delicious. Sandwiches are also good. This place has a fun vibe and burgers and sandwiches are priced right. This is definitely a good place for a casual night out. read more

I was here for a Christening party this past Sunday, October 16th in the new party room. The new party room is very big, and elegant. I was very impressed with it. There was always plenty of food, the food was very good, and drinks. We had an open bar and everyone always had drinks brought to the table by the servers, very promptly. We had a male and female server. Their service was great. They were very efficient and nice. We never wanted for anything, and our tables were always clean and checked on. Had dinner here with friends on a weeknight. Definitely an Irish feel upon walking in. Got seated in the bar area due to parties going on in the bigger room which was fine. I ordered the Dinner Special PotRoast and it was amazing. Wow. It came with string beans which were delicious and tator tots (they ran out of mash). I think the mash would of been a better fit with the potroast, but it was still great. I'll definitely be back to try out more of the menu. read more

Went to Jody's for the first time last night. We had a big group of 12. My buddies and I had our annual Secret Santa gift exchange here (yes we know it's super late). A friend and I walked in before the rest of our party and we did not have a reservation. It looked pretty busy for a Monday night. We asked for a table for 12 and the hostess set up a table very quickly with no hesitation. She was also our waitress and she was great throughout the night. We ordered a lot of food. The burgers were very juicy and were good. The wings were meaty as well. Everything came out great. They were very accommodating. There were ample TV's throughout the entire place also. I had high expectations going to Jody's last night. Everyone told me how good the burger was. Me and my girlfriend had the worst burger we have ever had in our entire life. First off walking in the door, no one was there to great us. We had to wonder around for a bit until we found someone to write our name down for a table. I got the blue cheese Burger with sweet potato fries and my girlfriend got the same with onion rings. The sweet potato fries were burnt and the onion rings were nothing special. My burger had a burt taste but was cooked rare and my girlfriends burger was cooked beyond recognition. I will never be going back again, extremely disappointed! read more

Last night I had one of my best dinners ever on Forest ave, being a chef I'm very critical by nature. In terms of value & quality Jody's was excellent. My steak o'poivre was perfect! As were the wings and salad. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the linguini w/clam sauce wasn't fresh as I was told before I ordered.
