My family and I lived in Springfield for nine years (2000-2009) and we took our vehicles to Rick's for work. We always found the service staff first class-individuals with equally first class work and service. This past week, two of my kids and I were passing through Springfield visiting friends, and our suburban dashboard lights went off like the fourth of July, and clanking sound. I tried to make on-line reservation but Rick's all booked up for next few days, so I called and reached Service Advisor Keith, who remembered me and family, and got us an appointment for following morning. Brought car in, and Michah Blake was the service advisor. IT was so great to see him again. First - great guy, Second - he knows what he is doing. He arranged Ben to transport me to another location to see friends, while the car was serviced. I returned a few hours later. Micah said car needed some work and Ben could drive me to friend's house while work was being done....I stayed to read, and glad I did. First, Tim Cummings, Vice President, came to waiting area to great me, say hello, catch up on families, and then showed me the new facility. Great to see him. He is rock-star person. Then the owner, Rich himself came to visit as he heard our car was being serviced and we hadn't seen each other in over seven years. Great to see him. No wonder so many of his employees have been with Rick for decades. He is awesome leader and person. Needless to say the work (Performed by Jesse) was perfect as we drove nearly 1,000 miles the next few days with "O" issues. Jesse left a nice note in the car - hand written - thanking us for loyalty. What a great guy. Also meet Austin, another service tech, who is entering the US Army as he got called up to perform maintenance for Army vehicles. Overall Rick's Automotive is not only one of the best service experiences year over year, but one could not ask for better people or quality of service from any other store, regardless of service. I would rank Rick's Automotive as one of the highest quality companies that I've ever worked with. THANK YOU! I had taken my car to Ricks for some work and I was just trilled with the work and the service. I had to talk my husband into taking his Jeep to Ricks; he did most of his own work, knows auto repair, but did not have time for it. He did not tell me nor Rick but when he called Rick about the work needed, he intentionally told Rick there were 4 problems, knowing that 2 of them he had fixed himself. He was testing Rick to see if he would try to get more money out of him for work that did not need to be done. When Rick inspected the Jeep he called my husband with what was needed, only the 2 items that did need work. My husband proded Rick about the other 2. Rick told him that no, they did not need work and were in good shape, just the other 2 items needed work. My husband said he was impressed that Rick did not try to con him into these unrequired items and that Rick had passed his test! The jeep has been going to Ricks for about 5 years now and my car as well, with absolutely no concerns or complaints. We will continue to go to Ricks for all of our repairs for some time to come! read more

I broke down in a parking lot 1/4 mile from the shop. I am from the high desert and I thought I just needed a jump start . I found out my battery connections were loose so I walked to the nearest shop to borrow a wrench. I was greeted by a crew of nice well dressed staff including Tim who loaned me a wrench. Noone loans tools anymore. I quickly found out my battery terminals were cracked and my battery was corroded, the service manager at ricks took my keys told me to relax, gave me a Perrier, took his truck and jump started my van. After driving it over,he returned, tested the system and I was ready to buy a new battery with the new terminals. Instead, he told me my battery was surprisingly fine, it just needed to be serviced, explaining everyrhing in detail and said I also needed the cracked postive terminal replaced. Not only was the guy honest, but he smiled and never made it feel like I was a burden like most mechanics.. After all was said and done I met rick himself, EVERYONE was incredible. Contrary to what SOME of these reviews say, Rick's Automotive is NOT that expensive. You get what you pay for. Do the dealerships hold the door open for you when you arrive and when you leave? Is your car washed when it is REALLY REALLY dirty? I don't know about you but the owner and manager do not adorn themselves with jewelry. Instead they smother you with service and make you feel like family..... that's what I want.... I came in for a 60,000 mile service that the dealer wanted $1245.00 for. I took it to Rick's and they started with an oil change, they said it needed a coolant flush, a transmission service, and front brakes. The dealer didn't even LOOK at the brakes. They showed me the pads, and showed me the rotors and they were almost melted looking. I saved a bundle of money with rick's and I feel secure driving my children around. I left my wife's car there one morning with a note to look the car over. I got a call within one day about the car needing serious repairs. Because of my previous trust in mechanics I did not trust what they were saying. I went into the sho and was shocked as a guy named Darren greeted me at my car and shook my hand introducing himself. This guy was ALL about making the customer at ease and was very knowledgeable and courteous. Rick then SHOWED me what was wrong step by step, even drawing pictures to explain the damage.I have never ever experienced any thing like what I experienced.You could eat off their floors, and the mechanics were well dressed and respectful. We were towed in by AAA and we had never been to Rick's Automotive before. We were quickly greeted by the manager Davren, who made us feel welcome and at ease. My mom was worried about being taken advantage of by another shop so I was helping her. We were given a ride home by a wonderful lady named Diana and were called with an estimate promptly. Our car needed major repairs and it was done in 2 days. They picked us up and held the door open for mom and made us incredibly happy. Not only are we happy about the money we spent at Rick's Automotive, but we are going to be telling everyone we know what we encountered. I first went to Rick's about 6 years ago. I have to say that until I met Rick and had him work on my car, I did NOT trust mechanics at all. Rick was very informative, explained everything, and never did I get the impression that he or his staff were out to just get more work and thus more money. He has worked on my car for 6 years now and I have complete trust in him and his mechanics and the work. Never had any problems whatsoever. I will continue to go to Ricks for my auto needs. I bought a Screamin Daily Deals and made an appointment with Rick's over the phone, the guy was really pleasant and helpful. When I arrived the tall dark and handsome manager met me at the car and made me feel at home. He even said " welcome to the family " !! Everyone is very very courteous and helpful. My Lexus needed service, but I was fed up with the high prices of the dealership repair shop. Rick's shop is near my home, and is AAA recommended. So I brought my car there. Nice to deal with a more personal, smaller shop compared to a big dealership. Rick was very professional, and kept me informed by phone through the day about the progress.
