Ambiance and service were wonderful. Our server was attentive and truly did a great job. This is a resort, so the food is pricier. No surprise there. We chose a bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was a delicious burger but the bun was burned and the burnt bun took over the flavor profile. Truly that was the only difference between me giving four stars versus three. I can't stand burnt toast, and evidently neither a burnt bun. So this may be a personal thing with me! I realize it's off season, but come on. Service was slow. When you're 3 couple deep the maitre'd should be seating peeps, not cleaning up. This slowed there were not enough staff. The restaurant has great ambiance but at the time of my visit, the restaurant had mechanical problems and the menu was limited to 4 items. The service was great but the food was just ok. Later on that night while in the lounge area watching football, we ordered chicken fingers and fries and the breading on the chicken was too thick. Maybe it was just bad timing and unfortunate. The ambiance was ok. Quiet, clean, and looked pretty. But the food was a huge issue. There were only two families in the restaurant, including us, but it still took 30-40 minutes to get out our food. That's was hard on the kids to wait that long esp after a long drive to the hotel. But our waitress was nice and accommodating. When the food did come, our burgers were burnt. My husbands was still somewhat edible, plus he was really hungry, so he ate his. But mine wasn't edible. It just tasted burnt. And research has shown that eating super burned food can contribute to cancer--if you do it a lot. Thus, I prefer to just not eat that. Plus it tasted gross. When we told them, they took off the burger and just charged us for the side salad that I added on for $3. I ate that because I was super hungry too! The burger was $21 so I'm glad we asked them to remove it. My husbands burger was $18, and my sons grilled cheese and fries was $10. Pricey for what you get, but it's a hotel restaurant so we expected as much. But did expect a bit faster and better quality food for such high prices. read more

Please don't waste your time coming here unless you want to overpay for mediocre dishes. I originally wanted to order the southwest chicken pasta but my waitress recommended garlic linguine and the garlic shrimp instead. The dish came out with a palm sized portion of angel hair pasta and four pieces of small shrimp totaling to $26. Waters weren't refilled and also specified onions on burger which didn't come as well and mind you had to be remade because it was overcooked the first time. Came here twice as I was a guest in the Westin. The atmosphere is nice, bright and welcoming. First time was evening and I just ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and some broccolini, and a glass of wine. There were two large parties of about 7-10 guests and two other tables of two, and then me. The wine took 15 min to come, and the salad took 40. I was thinking maybe it was grilled chicken or something, but no. The chicken was as cold as the lettuce it sat in. I ended up just getting it to go. It tasted fine. Neither great nor bad. Second time I came was for the breakfast buffet. I was seated and then shown where the food was. There was a great selection from eggs bacon sausage etc to pastries, bagels, oatmeal etc. Lovely fresh fruit section, lots to choose from. Sadly I didn't take a photo!! Some really bad reviews in here but I had a very good experience. Yes it's one of the only food options if you aren't dining in the nicer restaurants. Is it the best food I've ever had? No. Is it overpriced because of the hotel? Sure! But it's good and the service was great! I was able to place an order to go so I could take it back to my room and it took a whopping 10 minutes. I had the Beyond burger and it came with fries (see photo). Really good! Wish I had known about the fries because I would have asked for ketchup or ranch. the fries were so good, great flavor. I also had the half order of the garlic mac & cheese and I didn't love it. There are actual chopped pieces of garlic in it. Sooooo many pieces. Like a sliver of garlic in every bite. This restaurant is connected to Marssa, so it's all the same food but just different themes. This is also where you have breakfast in the morning. The breakfast will come with a buffet or will have a menu option. Just do yourself a favor and get the buffet option. It's the same stuff as what's on the menu. Definitely skip Rick's if you're looking for vegetarian dishes or salads or gluten-free. The farro-kale-mushroom dish was 85% farro with tiny shreds of kale and mushroom. The Cobb salad was unacceptable. Gobs of ranch dressing in the lettuce and shrimp that taste like they've been frozen and thawed at least 5 times before it got to me. They are not good for gluten-free diets. We were told the farro was gluten-free but it's not. My date spent the night in the bathroom. For two salads and two green teas the total was over $50. Our server was great. Food came out fast. Even on a holiday weekend. They offered to get me a new dish or a dessert. I don't blame the staff at all. But since we checked in the hotel and limited on options we decided to eat there. EXTREMELY overpriced. $50 bucks for a steak that was covered in sauce? If I wanted a Salisbury style steak I would haven minded. But it was to hide the poor quality of the cut. All gristle and fat. For $50 something dollars I was disappointed. After I managed to operate on the steak and get all the sauce off- which wasn't represented on the menu as a sauce covered steak ( I think out of a can) and cut all the fat off.. the 12 ounce steak was a manageable 8 ounce piece of shoe leather. My kid got Alfredo noodles. She's not a food critic but by her not eating a 3rd of it says it all. My girlfriend got the Ceasar's salad with $7 dollar chicken add on. I believe it was about the size of a nugget. And bland. She didn't seem to like it and left most of it as well. The Filipino lady was our server. She was friendly and considering we were the only table she had on a Saturday night-- she was attentive to our needs. We opted to not get desert there since the meal left allot to be said. My kid wanted Reese's pieces it of the vending machine instead of desert. $150 bucks and no alcohol? I get that we were in a hotel. But this place stinks for food and if it weren't for the location... No one would eat here. The calamari was good though. That and the server were all that were good. Last year for Thanksgiving 2023 we had the buffet at Rick's Cafe. It was spectacular with plenty of seafood, sushi and many other nice choices including a room full of desserts. (Our friends who live in the area had indicated that the previous two years were even better!) So we were eager to repeat the experience of Thanksgiving 2023 for Thanksgiving 2024. We had a party of 7. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed this year. The dinner buffet was limited to one room and there was no seafood except for smoked salmon and shrimp. The other choices were okay but much more limited than last year. The dessert last year had been a room full of plentiful and delicious choices. This year it was limited to one table area in the middle of the room. There were a few good items, but most were mediocre and they ran out of some particular items. I believe that the price this year was lower than last year at $69.99 per person, so okay, but that didn't even include any beverages such as iced tea or coffee. On top of that, there was a service charge of 23%!!!!!!!!! Plus sales tax as expected. Due to the disappointment, we all decided that this year was our last year for this buffet and will be searching for a better experience for next year. read more

This place is an absolute disgrace. They are sneaky and deceitful. My wife, son, and I stayed at the hotel back in August. A large group of friends of ours all go and book a staycation before the kids go back to school every year here. We had a wonderful time on the property. The room was great. The pool was wonderful. Everything seemed great. How does all of this constitute a 1 star review you ask? Our group went to the cafe for breakfast. We were sat in a large room where we could all dine together. When we asked a busser/waiter if we could move the tables together, they said no problem. Well when we moved them, one of the glass tops shattered. Everybody seemed ok and the staff helped move everybody and we all moved on. 3 days after check out, I personally got a bill for the glass top. $1,000! I have called continually with no answers or communication back from the property. They even lied and wrote a letter saying we were aware that we were being charged for it. They even copy and pasted our hotel signature on the bill! This place is full of crooks and dishonest people. Do not stay or dine at this property as who knows what they may charge you for! Be it breakfast or dinner you will love Rick's. It is located in the Westin and is just so good. If they have the breakfast buffet while you are there, have that first. The service is great and all the items are perfectly prepared. Rick's is also great for dinner. We had some fresh fish, a burger and a steak. All was wonderful. The burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was great. I was not in love with the home made chips and will ask for something different next time.
