    Homemade gingerbread pudding!

Friday night, 6:00. Cold winter night. Warm tavern, tantalizing aromas, warm ambiance, friendly staff. Andrew was very attentive and his timing was excellent. He is quite knowledgeable about the menu as well. Ok, let's get to the cuisine. Home made, thick, rich blue cheese dressing over a garden salad. Indulge if you like blue cheese salad dressing. It will make you very happy! Steak tip tenders were cooked perfectly and they were actually tender! The Demi glacé was the best ever, made from the jus from the short ribs. The mushrooms, onions and asparagus was a delicious topping and the mashed potatoes were homemade! The best steak dinner I've had in a long while! Every bite was perfect! Could not pass up homemade hot gingerbread pudding with ginger crystals and vanilla ice cream. Wow! Cannot wait to come back. Everything is made from scratch and is top notch. As Andrew said, "The door is always open!"

Mahi entree. Looked excellent and i dont eat fish!!

Popped in here last night for a birthday dinner after Tuckaway Tavern gave us a 2 hour wait that didnt work out. A nice gentleman at Ricks who i believe is the owner and maybe Rick himself, greeted us with a smile and showed us to the bar as our table was tidied up. He then brought us to our table and handed us off to our waitress who is 7 months pregnant! She was the balls too, very personable but not bothersome. Checked in on us and brought any requests out to us with a smile. We started with apps like chicken tenders, baked oysters, and cornbread. The cornbread was good and messy with maple candied bacon, yum. The chicken tenders are almost paper thin cutlet style tenders covered in corn flakes and fried. Pretty good too and the sweet and sour sauce paired nicely. The oysters were a hit! The gnocchi soup was good but i never got a spoon and didnt want to pester anyone soni ate what i could with my fork. I got a diuble bacon burger too, and i NEVER get burgers but i was satisfied and cant beat the price. My girl enjoyed her mahi entree. Her son really like the steak tips. And hos gf liked her rosotto and caeser salad. Overall the place was full but still able to accommodate us pretty quickly with a reservation slot. All the employees I encountered were helpful and pleasant. They certainly know how to upsell booze! Ha. I was surprised at the total of the bill being so high (295$) but there were about 10 drinks, 3 apps, 2 soups, 2 entrees, a sandwich, a salad, and a side or 2. I enjoyed the visit and the ambiance. One downside, Just know if you pay with a credit card then you will be charged a transaction fee which is annoying imo.

I would drive way out of my way to come back just for the grilled cheese. They shouldn't call it that, it's got piles of short rib on it and an incredible horseradish sauce. Seriously, one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The Ivan Drago and Conan the Barbarian cocktails were both really good too! And my husband liked his burger. Also perfect fries, our favorite was the garlic!

Excellent all around once again! My cocktail was so good, and I was so happy because I usually don't care for cocktails! The halibut special was amazing as well!

COVID rules are easy. Ate in. Servers wore masks. You could drop yours for the duration of the service. New menu. Outside eating was also available. Cheryl took really good care of us. Had the lobster crab cups. Made in fried wonton wrappers. Yummy. I ordered the shrimp dumplings which had a Asian spice but made in a empanadas style wrapper also fried. Very tasty. Main course was a perfectly cooked medium rare hanger steak and you had choice of any of the sides and I went down the Cesar salad with some anchovies added. Full bar. Diverse beer list and plenty of good wines by the glass. Close to where I live will definitely come a regular.

Went to Ricks on a recommendation from a couple I met and they raved about it. What a hidden gem this place is. About 30 minutes from Manchester so not to far. We got there about 5-ish on a gloomy day. We were seated right away. Menu is online and we used our phones but the waitress did offer an iPad for bigger print. We ordered marinated turkey tips with mixed vegetables with French fries and steak tips with spicy habanero/pineapple sauce on the side and steamed asparagus. Everything was cooked nicely! Both meals were absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back! As we were leaving more people were coming in. Ricks definitely has a welcoming ambiance and everyone that were there seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Hidden Gem! The food was amazing, we started with the pork belly bao buns, melted in your mouth, we shared the blackened Mahi Mahi with mushroom risotto and the spinach salad, absolutely outstanding. Drinks were amazing, so much to choose from. Service was great, Samantha was so accommodating. Beautiful rustic ambiance, very cozy!

My first time walking into BBB was the same week I moved to New Hampshire…read more.. "Do you have any other glassware? I just moved here from Cali and only own two coffee mugs at the moment." "Two mugs?! Sh*t! Call the Red Cross! You can have this one for free!" Since then, Bert's was my own craft beer oasis in the granite state and I was a loyal customer, often visiting twice a month and sometimes even twice a week (don't let my low check-in count fool you). Staff here were top notch. Though familiar with the most popular brews from the North East, my knowledge of the New Hampshire craft beer scene was paltry at best due to the low demand for such beers in trading forums. Staff at Bert's always demonstrated an eagerness to help me out and knowledge of local breweries, even inquiring about my preferred styles and flavor profiles and then compiling a list of beers they thought I would enjoy! And they weren't beer snobs either. Just good folks who enjoy drinking. Anyway, the selection at Bert's is pretty solid and there is a nice mix of local brews, east coast beers, a few west coast beers, local mead, and local hard cider. I recommend checking out the following: -Southern Tier: They are from NY. The seasonal stuff is pretty good. Right now they should have a pumpkin beer available called "Pumpking" and that is hands down my favorite pumpkin beer. Buy a couple bottles. Drink one now and save one for later when Southern Tier comes out with "Creme Brûlée." Mix those two and you will get what tastes like vanilla pumpkin pie. -Brooklyn Brewery: Their regular stuff is unimpressive but some of the seasonals and large bottles are worth trying. -Maine Brewing Co: Beer from here is much easier to find these days but the beer is quality stuff. Never had a bad beer from them. If you're lucky, Bert will have "Lunch" in stock. -Funky Bow: Also from Maine. Beers are good. IPA lovers will enjoy "G-String" while coffee enthusiasts will be wise to check out "Midnight Special." -Pipeworks: A local brewery. I'm a fan of their IPAs. Bert has fresh crowlers in the cooler and they are all rather affordable. -Moonlight Meadery: Local honey wine. A must try for any mead fan. -Local hard cider in the cooler closest to the front of the store. Very impressive. NH grows some of the best apples I've had and that translates into pretty darn good cider. ___Tips___ -Follow them on twitter! They often announce arrivals on twitter and the most popular bottles will sell out in a matter of hours. I've rushed to Bert's after work on a few occasions just to get a bottle of Canadian Breakfast Stout. So good! -They will also announce tastings. Beer tastings occur on Tuesdays and Fridays. -Bert also ages beers for a few years and puts them on sale from time to time. They will usually be located on a table in the back. I just wanted to say thank you for supplying me with beer during my time in New England. And sorry for bouncing. In typical John B. fashion, I moved somewhere without telling a soul. I doubt I'll ever be back in Manchester. But if I am ever in the area, Bert's will always be a stop for me.

I just had a great experience with Bert's Better Beers! I saw on Facebook that you can email them…read morefor pickup (though I think you can go in and browse yourself now, too). I emailed and said I was looking for a mixed pack of 10 beers - hoping to get some NH IPAs (all styles). I arrived and they were waiting for me, the gentleman who checked me out was super friendly, too. I've sampled a couple and am super happy with taking their recommendations blindly!
