This place is a dump! We had heard good things in the past about this place being good for burgers. It was an absolute ridiculous nightmare! First off my husband was asking about draft beer and their draft system was down- no draft beer at all. Secondly, the coolers weren't working well either so the beer wasn't really cold to drink as the bartender explained. We go to order, and we're told they are out of tomatoes and don't have mayonnaise! The last thing was we were served our fries even before our burgers weren't even on the grill! Needless to say we told the bartender to cancel the burger order and we left. What a crap experience. If you want a good bar burger and nice atmosphere and where the beer is cold, the service is awesome- go to Big League Brews down the road. read more

I don't know where they get these girls that work there, but my God...they are DUMB! I ordered a coke and hubby ordered a beer and two waters. The waters came, then 3 minutes later the beer. We sat for another 8 minutes and finally just threw money on the table and walked out. The server was behind the bar at one time and was texting on her phone...no coke to be had. She even wrote down our order! OMG...hubby told her to look for a different job because she's not qualified to work in a bar for sure. We never even got to order food. This is a dive bar. It is definitely not family friendly as there are always drunken men in there playing pool and swearing like drunken sailors, including the owner Rick! My 2 beers were around $14. Strong, large beers. Reasonable price. But our DD ordered an iced tea. No alcohol. Just a regular iced tea and his bill for the 1 drink was $7.50..seriously? Just a subpar bar. The 95¢ burgers taste like they cost 95¢ so not surprised there. They don't have anything on their food menu above $5, the food is so cheap and tastes like it. A very divey- but homey- experience. My family and I love the atmosphere and food at this bar. The hamburgers are cheap and filling, the beer is diverse and delicious, and the wait staff feels like family, with an interesting patronage of all shapes and sizes. I know I've made some wonderfully misanthropic memories at this bar, especially concerning a few impressionable patrons. Will keep on going to this Downriver jem. read more

We were regulars for several years, and frequent patrons the last couple of years as well. It used to be great burgers, great service, a "neighborhood" feel and you could tell they at least TRIED. Now they don't even try. The burgers are not as good as they used to be (different supplier??). They charge extra for lettuce and tomato, but don't tell you. The prices on everything but burgers has increased dramatically, but quality is inferior. It took us AN HOUR to get 2 burgers and fries tonight. The waitress never bothered to ask if we wanted drink refills or anything else... just brought the bill once we were finished eating (and we didn't finish the food because YUCK). Terrible. A friend and I played pool here today. After our 5th game we needed to get change for the pool tables and the server asked us for at least the 3rd time if we wanted drinks. After getting change we were playing a new game of pool and the server tells us we need to purchase something in order to play pool (messenger for the manager). I said can I purchase fries ($2.50) but then I said we did just play 5 games at ($0.75) each game. We planned to play about 3 more games which is only $6 of games and we planned to get something to snack on while we were there but they were very pushy saying we needed to purchase something to be there. Doesn't playing pool count as purchasing something? It was too pushy for me to purchase a basket of fries for $2 in order for them to accept us being there. So we left and probably won't return. I was a newbie back in late 2015. I was attacked and choked-out while my hands were behind my back. Taylor Police were no help, wouldn't let me file charges. This bar is still in business, unsure why or how, as they allow many code violations. They defy non-smoking law, they have a special area just beyond the pool tables for smoking. Ok so I just moved back to the city of Taylor and thought I would try this bar out since it is right across the street. So when we first got in it was packed to the bone. When we sat down we didn't get served til about 10 mins into being there, then we ordered food. The waitress said that it was gonna be about 30 mins. Which is fine but the entire time we were there it took forever to get us another beer but the food took at least an hour and 15 mins, I understand it is packed but damn that took forever, I will say the food was awesome I had a triple bacon cheeseburger and it was very fulfilling. However, the staff was very slow and I really think they need to hire more waitresses and cooks because the wait time was longer than Olive Garden. They were friendly but next time I come here it will be for drinks only and I will sit at the bar so they can see me. The "95 cent burger" is an anomaly; for a burger that cheap, it's more than edible- it's actually pretty good. You pay more for worse at a fast food chain. (Actually, it might even be 95 cents, like the beer.) My personal favorite, though, is the mini tacos. They run about $2.95, but mmmmm, I love me some mini tacos. And wings are 35 cents each. The atmosphere is pretty rough, though, so you have to come with friends prepared to just drink some cheap beer, eat some cheap food and have a good time. Don't count on meeting anyone there to talk to -- that is, unless you like talking to old dudes and ladies who have been stuck to their bar stools for the past 20 years. Decided to try something different last night, boy do I regret it. As soon as I arrived I could see other patrons were aggravated. My wife and I ordered drinks and food shortly after. It was a good forty minutes for burgers and fries. Meanwhile an older gentleman and his wife were complaining about the wait for their order. The manager (possibly owner) spoke with him as he became more agitated. He and his wife ended up leaving. By this time we received our order, the worst burger I've ever tasted. We have adopted this as one of our favorite neighborhood watering holes. Yes the crowd can sometimes be on the older side or the flannel shirt side but we have NEVER encountered any problems. It is a clean, comfortable bar with a great 95cents burger. As if the 95ent burger werent wonderful enough we discovered the large, frosted, goblet mug!! Cold draft beer poured into these babys is heaven in Taylor. Don't stop in if you're in a hurry.....the service is friendly but can be slow and honestly that is sometimes the best part about a trip to the local watering hole--the relaxed easiness of a bar to forget the stress of the week. We appreciate there is always music playing, ya know how some bars are either eeeeerie quiet or there is the sounds of jeopardy on the tv or a movie...theres isnt any of that here. TIP: ask if they have the krinkle cut fries available when ur there....one of those items not on the menu but wish it was YUUUMMMMM. read more

The food is good, whoever is in that kitchen does a nice job. The only food drawback is the wings do not come with sauce, you have to dip them in a tiny little plastic cup. Probably a good place for a neighborhood bar for friends and locals to listen to music and drink but not a sports friendly bar. We went there today to watch the Michigan game and someone put money in the juke box playing garbage rap music so everyone in the bar wearing Michigan gear who were watching the game complained and the owners ignored it. Great cheeseburgers for only $.95! You can't even get a burger that cheap at McDonald's. The burger was delicious- juicy and flavorful, and for an extra $1 you can make it a double! My husband had the double, I had the single, and We got an order of fries to share ($2 extra) and had 2 - 22oz craft beers. With 20% tip and tax we walked out paying exactly $20.
