Ricky's is like the old reliable. Large menu, great for short order foods. When you want a burger or better yet breakfast this is your spot.

Typical chain restaurant offerings. The service can be slow, though. Tip: finish up with a coffee from the Starbucks right next door.

Our AirBnB hosts listed it as the only 5-star restaurant in town so we made a last minute reservation, which they graciously accommodated. What a great choice! First impressions don't convey 5-star, but once we settled in, the cozy and casual ambience was perfect. They have an extensive cocktail and wine list and we dove into the cocktail section. Really smart and interesting selection - would've loved to try more than two. We had a featured appetizer - an heirloom tomato salad with goats cheese and gazpacho dressing. Fresh, well presented and delicious. We also ordered the bread with lemon butter and olive oil. The multigrain bread was fantastic! For mains, I had the kobe beef and my partner had the meatballs with a side of roasted carrots. The beef melted in my mouth and the chimichurri sauce was possibly the best I've had. The meatballs and carrots had a decidedly north african flavour profile and were beautiful and balanced. Their menu is fantastic - if we lived nearby we would return to try almost everything. So glad we didn't stay to eat dinner in way-too-touristy Whistler or we would've missed out on this gem.

I've always wanted to do something like this but have been a bit nervous to do so but he made the class fun, funny, and so easy! You have the chance to make 3 bespoke artisan cocktails during this 3 hour class, 2 of their signatures and then the 3rd Aaron let us pick! He made it so easy and explained each step well, also how to use the tools properly along with sharing some great tips on shaking, measuring and also the importance of balance in your cocktail. I enjoyed every minute as well as consuming the cocktails after... each so delicious made with their in house liquors. If I had room I would have bought several bottles with me to take home!

Aaron came out as we were looking for Plan B and let us know the event had just ended and they were open again. (5 loud cheers on the street for sure!) I tried both the Kyoto and Wet Work, enjoying them both. They would even work as a blend of one another. My dad accidentally ordered a chocolate martini instead of an espresso martini, and Aaron made it happen. (The entire table loved it! Take that poured over some ice cream and I'd be far too content!) My brother had the gin martini, and while not a fan of gin straight up, it had a nice smooth finish that I could appreciate.

We had the salmon chowder, Thai mussels, soy dijon salmon, short rib, and seafood pasta. Everything tasted great, but some of the seafood was slightly overcooked. The focaccia that came with the soup and mussels were a crowd favorite. It felt like a ciabatta bread, but seasoned like a focaccia. The short rib was tender and the vegetables tasted amazing. I loved the gravy that came with the dish. The soy dijon salmon was overcooked, but still tasted good. The sauce was so flavorful and I couldn't get enough of it. The seafood pasta was cooked al dente and felt refreshing. They gave a generous portion of seafood. I personally would have liked a tiny bit more lemon, but otherwise I would order this dish again. Our server Michael provided excellent customer service. We mentioned that we would be sharing the appies and without us having to ask, he split the soup into 3 individual portions. He was super friendly and went above and beyond for us.

Good quick service from friendly staff. Reasonably quick delivery of our orders (Thai soup, curried lentil wraps). Good, price-friendly dessert choice. So: good service, good food, fantastic view. And in season their outdoor terrace will open and it will offer a lovely seaside experience. If I have one complaint: loud. It's not their fault - the hard surfaces, as with most restaurants these days, tend to bounce noise and clatter around. But the good things easily outweigh that.
