When you need a tasty vegan snack with your beers or just a tasty snack in general. The salsa is very yummy and almost addictive. The bbq fries with the bean burger was the star of what we got, other than the salsa. Adding the great location with good food also helps. Staff was super friendly. Highly recommend.

They had a truck outside of the brewing layer in Portola. We waited about 15 minutes for our food. It was piping hot. We ordered the fried fish & twisted fried comes with a side of lime cilantro sauce, we added a side of chipotle sauce. The fish was crispy, light & delicious. The fries were a little thick but crunchy & good, wish they were salted a bit. The cilantro lime sauce was way better than the chipotle sauce.

My wife and I headed over to Sierra City, but before we got there, we needed to find a place to eat and have a drink. Of course, my go to in finding places to stop is Yelp. This place is the definition of why you use Yelp. We saw that it got 5-stars and after having their fish and chips, we can see why. Based on the first picture we saw, we thought it was a building with a restaurant. It was actually a food truck nestled near some trees. Oh, and what a food truck it was. Fish and chips are my typical go to when I try a new place. I can honestly say that their version matches up to any sit down restaurant I've been to. It was excellent. Four pieces of wild caught cod, along with some uniquely shaped thick curl fries with some awesome and different tartar sauce. Add to the phenomenal setting in the woods in Graegal, the service was quick and with a smile. Pricing was reasonable, especially with the large serving size. I think I'll take the 1 hour and change trip from Reno again to try some of their tacos.

Had a great dinner to-go here! Was a quick jaunt over from Graeagle to pick up some killer tacos! It was ready in 14 minutes (the cashier timed it - what a super nice gal!) Located inside the historic Blackbird Inn, this little eatery packs a biggo punch! Also, super safe COVID practices in place. Also, as an aside - I LOVE texting in my order! I totally mis-ordered my husband's plate (sorry honey!) but he was totally happy with it so no issues there. I guess I ordered the fish plate instead of the fish TACOS plate... oops! But we had some tortillas at the cabin and I shared cabbage from my gorgeous salad with him, so all was well. The servings were just right (well, on the big side actually lol) but I was glad because it did seem a little bit pricey. I felt that the quality was high, the flavor was excellent, and the portions great as well. Also, two words - twisted fries. Holy moley, I'm still working those off!!!

While driving around the area and after a short hike we were starving and looking for a place to grab a quick bite- that time when it's too late for lunch and too early for dinner. Ricochet Cafe showed up in my Yelp search and had excellent reviews. Being a vegetarian myself and kids that are picky when it comes to meat, I really have to pay attention to the menu and was happy to find that they offer vegetarian and vegan options. We drove there and the location wasn't difficult to find at all, we were able to park and order our food. The lady taking our order was very friendly. We were given the option to dine in the side yard. The cafe is part of an inn which is a converted historic general store. There was a picnic style bench and a couple tables. The sun was at a perfect angle in the horizon and we enjoyed a fresh, beautiful meal of vegan tacos, fish tacos, beer from the neighboring The Brewing Lair and ginger beer. We finished off the meal with a lemon bar and a flourless chocolate cake. The lemon bar was hands down the best I have had in my life and I usually don't like lemon bars. [ Tip: Do get the dessert]. Highly recommend this quaint, friendly little cafe with excellent food if you happen to be in the area. It's as local as it gets.

Only food available at the Brewing Lair. Overpriced greasy food truck choice with no ice, (Friend ordered a drink and would've liked it with ice.) and outhouse pit toilet for customers. $14 with tax and asks for a tip when using a credit card to pay for two small tacos. Needed to check out this highly rated restaurant. It was a nice surprise of savory waffles topped with your choice of toppings, be it a bean burger, meatloaf, bbq pork or jalapeno tuna. The side salad comes with some special hothouse tomatoes and 3 special uncommon homemade dressings. Super friendly server. In, front porch and back patio seating. Clean establishment overall. Park on the street. Its in a great population of 76 town with friendly folks. There is wine and their local beers. Had the mac nut porter, sweet and delicious. Wanted to put a vanilla ice cream in it. They have music at nights. They take CC.

While we were at The Brewing Lair, we got to try some tacos from the Ricochet Cafe food truck We were really happy to see a food option at this brewery. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our order, and we got: Chipotle Chicken Tacos BBQ Pork Tacos The meat was tasty, but the tortillas were cold. The chipotle and bbq sauce, while delicious, seemed to overpower the taco. We also got to try the fries, and we really liked those. They were so perfectly crisp, and soft on the inside, very much resembling waffle fries

We find ourselves grabbing a beer and food from Ricochet a couple times a month. The fish and fries are my go to. I love the batter on the fish and the fries are pretty good half moon shape starting to curl. I have had the ahi tacos (this last time menu said they were out). I prefer a bit more sauce to cabbage ratio but they were quality ingredients. The service has always been fast and friendly, even when they are slammed as they are the only food truck at the brewery.

Cozy place with fun vegan options! Vegan waffle burgers? Don't mind if I do! If you are visiting near Clio or the a Graeagle area, I definitely recommend a stop by this cafe! The portions are good sized and this is really good quality food. Organic ketchup, fancy salad dressings, unique beer options, and fresh produce. This place is dog friendly because the actual food prep is done in a food truck outside. Clever! Live music, very casual and friendly atmosphere, and the service was excellent. We were actually quite surprised how quickly our food was prepared! I enjoyed learning a bit of the history of the small town of Clio reading their plaque (see photo). Will definitely be a returning customer!

Nom, nom, nom says the gluten free diner! This is truly a gem that would totally kill in a larger city. The atmosphere is perfect, the food cooked to perfection and the staff very friendly. I had no concern about cross contamination as our server was knowledgeable about celiac disease. My husband's fish taco's were excellent (according to him). But, my cheese sauce covered meat loaf on top of a gluten free waffle was divine. A little spicy , but you're talking about a person who can't eat mild salsa :) I had to order a craft cream soda. Oh my, it was too yummy. Lastly, as soon as our server said gluten free Vanilla Brulee Cheesecake I knew this restaurant was even more awesome.

Holy SMOKES THE BEST RESTAURANT AROUND! Better pricing than any other place around, unique menu with a American food with a twist! They do have VEGAN and VEGETARIAN dank options. My buddy got the veggie burger and added kimchi on top (highly recommended)! I got fish tacos and BOY SO GOOOOOOD! AND THE SERVICE! SPECTACULAR!!!! The owner and her family were so welcoming, loving, and were grateful to have you there. Even the doggie welcomes you warmly! This restaurant is a must-visit if you are in the Clio area! The ambiance is charming, and the people are so friendly and happy to offer up ideas on what to do nearby. And let's not forget...the food! The waffles are gluten free, and can easily be made vegan. I had a waffle and delicious split pea soup, and my fiancé had the tuna tower waffle. Both meals were the perfect complement of flavors, and the portions were great! I'm already trying to figure out how many more waffles I can eat before we leave! read more

First time visiting Graeagle/Clio. Happened upon this gem of a place due to a friends recommendation. Great diverse menu with tons of choices, and vegan/vegetarian options as well which was a surprise. Nice local brews and other brews as well. My food was excellent. Had the creme brûlée cheesecake to finish and holy $@!I'm from San Diego and it was something I would expect from one of the trendy places around North Park or Little Italy. Not to mention the live music was unreal. The guy should be famous. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best live musicians I've heard. Insta handle is @jackdanny1980. And saving the best for last, I was graced with the presence of Janet, the hostess with the mostest. She gave our group excellent suggestions for food and drinks. She anticipated our every need. Refills were impeccable and she cleared our table in short order all with a smile and great efficiency. All in all a great place would highly recommend to all in the area and those visiting! read more

Great little hidden gem for lunch and dinner. Had their Everyone's Favorite Fish Tacos for lunch...and it was amazing. Tacos were super fresh, with a hint of sharp cheddar cheese, and bursting with flavor (yummy cilantro lime sauce.) Will definitely be coming back here again! read more

Wow ! We stopped here on our way home from Quincy because of the reviews and were not disappointed! What a great place! Super cute old building with a great front porch and outdoor dining . The food was amazing ! Great vegetarian selection . The tacos and salad were so bright and colorful . The dressings and sauces are very creative . Would love to come back to stay the night and see some live music . Great service too! read more

I had the pork chipotle waffle and my wife had the same on tacos. The pulled pork was tender, the sauce just the right amount of spicy. Both served with a generous and healthy portion of fresh salad. I had the carrot ginger dressing and my wife had tomato cilantro. Both were very flavorful and really enhanced the salad. Accompanied by the The Brewing Lair "Take a Hike" IPA with a fruity flavor and just the right hop tones. Finished with the ultra-sweet creme caramel cheesecake. Definitely worth a visit. Went to the opening night at Richochet Cafe (located in the Blackbird Inn) in Clio last night and WOW, it is fantastic! The menu is creative and will appeal to many palates including those with dietary preferences and restrictions. There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free items, all are extremely tasty and each has a unique sauce or spice that gives it a delicious and memorable twist. Last night was a set fee tasting menu where we got to taste many of the items on the menu. Their pulled pork is hands down the best I have ever tasted and the cheese sauce on the meatloaf melt (served on a savory waffle) was light, smoky and simply divine. The zesty vegan tacos have peppers, onions and jack fruit (!) sauteed but still crispy with delicious spices that really bring out the flavor of the veggies. The fish tacos are light and delicious. I could go on and on, but best that you check it out the next time you're in the area. Beer on tap, wine and cider available also. Winter hours are Tue-Sat 12-9. read more

Great hidden spot just off of 89 before Graeagle in the tiny town of Clio. Charming hotel with a great little restaurant in it -- the fish tacos here are incredible. Apparently, they have live music regularly when Covid isn't an issue. Can't wait to get back here down the road for great food and good music! read more

So delicious! We came here after a visit to the hot springs. We got the tuna salad and bean salad, soup and IPA's. The outside patio was gorgeous. Will be back on my next visit through town. read more

What a great find! Healthy, fresh, surprising flavors. I had the Jalepeno tuna, my kids had fish tacos and fish and chips, and my husband had the meatloaf sandwich and we were all very pleased. Awesome vegan options, too. I've been coming up here for a few years and hadn't really found a restaurant a truly adored. Finally, something different than the same old dining options. Yum! Can't say enough good things about this place. I love everything the menu and often crave it for dinner. Try the meatloaf, fish tacos, and the bean burger with the veggies. The waffles are gluten free but you would never know, and they also have vegan options. Love love love read more

The food and service was great! I will be back. The homemade soups are nutritious and tasty. The only negative for me was that it was way too chilly for me in the restaurant. Savvy patrons had seated themselves by the wood stove. In the summer this, of course, will not be an issue. read more

Wow! Ricochet is a wonderful addition to the community. I went there for the first time since the restaurant opened and was very happy with my experience. Cheryl and Scott are warm and welcoming as well as professional. the food was really yummy and full of flavor. I had the Vegan veggie soup and fish tacos. Both were wonderful and the soup had a meatball option as well. We sat next to a cozy fireplace and soaked up the great vibe. Check it out! I gave it two stars for ambience. Nice space but the food is marginal. Taco shells cold even after complaining about a prior visit and almost no fish, just filler. Waffles were different but no flavor, meatloaf boring. Went with neighbors and no one was ready to rush back read more

Ricochet served up a delicious dinner for my fiance and I while we were passing through town. The owner, Cheryl, was very friendly and helpful, and she makes some great soups. I had the Tuna Tower Waffle as well, and it was a nice savory treat. Everything tasted very fresh and clean. There was a good selection of local beers, including some from the Brewing Lair in nearby Blairsden. Overall, it's a great place to stop for a meal. read more

What a gem, I don't even want to share this, but I have to! Such an amazing experience, the people, the food and drink and the dancing! I had so much fun and did not stop smiling the whole night. My taco was a little dry, and I only ate half of it, but not enough to change the 5 stars. JJ and his Mom were so nice. Jj is all over the restaurant making sure everyone has what they need. The place is decorated like a Mexican Cantina. Really a nice place. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant.

There weren't a lot of options to be had so we figured we would try the taqueria. Oh my goodness are we so happy we came in! We had some very legit street tacos! If you look at a lot of my reviews, I am a big street taco person. I love tacos. I could live on tacos. In fact I kind of do sometimes lol. But that being said, I've had a whole bunch of different types. These street tacos were perfect. The chicken was wonderful, not too greasy not too fatty and seasoned to perfection. I loved the fresh salsa and cilantro on top. I skipped out on the Red Onion because I'm not a huge fan. My husband got the pork and steak and he said both were great, but the steak had a slight edge over the pork. Bonus, they had glass bottled Coke and Sprite which if you know anything about soda, the glass bottle sodas from Mexico are really the only ones worth the calories. Service was a bit slow, however they were slammed. It was Mother's Day weekend and it seemed like everyone in town plus people like us who just happened to be in town were coming to the restaurant. But they did a good job despite the immense crowd. They were really packed. The outdoor seating was wonderful, we sat out front. However there is a great patio in the back. And then of course seating within the restaurants. Great vibe, great people, just a great experience overall. And Downieville again, which I'm sure we will be, this will be where we go.

My husband got carne asada tacos and I got chicken enchiladas with green sauce. His tacos were completely bland, no flavor or seasoning to the meat. The only thing that gave my enchiladas flavor was the sauce. The chicken was a bit dry. I asked for extra tortillas for my rice and beans and I was given one stale and ice cold tortilla. The waitress seemed annoyed by our presence and despite being asked, never refilled our waters and ignored us until it came time to pay and we felt rushed out. We wanted to see if it was a fluke and returned later for dinner as nothing else was open. I decided to try a burrito. I asked for a Carne asada burrito and she asked me what meat I wanted....? Overall, again, absolutely bland and flavorless and they use CABBAGE which just was gross in comparison to the beans and rice.

We ordered their Menudo and wow, the flavors were excellent and they service it with lime wedges, white onions and cilantro on the side and homemade tortillas. We also ordered the chili rellano plate which was huge and delicious. This Mexican restaurant deserves high accolades to the chef, owner, and servers. AND I left my cell phone on the table and got almost home and realized I didn't have it with me, I drove back even though they were closed and they greeted me at the door with a smile and my phone. Thank you for being honest. Will highly recommend this gem.
