My son and I were out and about and we wanted to get something to eat. He was craving cheese quesadilla so we went to Rico's Tacos nearby, where I hadn't been to for a few years. He got his cheese quesadilla and I got a carnitas taco which comes with beans and salsa. It hit the spot! And their red and green sauces were so good! Not that spicy. Service was fast and the staff was friendly. It's not a fancy place but food was pretty good. I usually take pictures of the food but I was hungry.

Seven to Eight years ago, I used to come to here to grab either lunch or dinner after work. I was around the area this time so I decided to eat lunch here again. I'm really glad that despite of many years has it been, it still tastes the same as how I remember it. I usually get a regular asada burrito (no beans) and use lots of their green sauce. It's my first time trying the BBQ PORK taco and it also taste good but I still prefer Asada. Definitely will eat here again when I'm around the area

I got back from a trip to Seattle and I didn't feel like cooking. I ordered two steak tacos and one chicken taco via DoorDash. The food is nothing to write home about, and though I ordered crispy tacos, they weren't crispy by the time I got them. It could've just been because the meat was very wet. I almost broke my tooth biting into my chicken taco onto a fairly large chicken bone. I'm never going to order from here again.

If you want the best taco in SJ, this is the place to go. I got the carne asada super taco and it was so fresh and amazingly tasting! The service is amazing and the owners are so nice. It's very vibrant and bright inside. Would recommend 10/10.

My boyfriend and I were seeing a movie next door and had a bit of time to kill before it started. We were starving and decided to grab some Mexican food. This is located in a plaza so shares a parking lot with the movie theater and a safeway. Plenty of parking. Most of the tables were full inside. We examined the menu for a bit before deciding on the carne asada nachos. We wound up sitting outside because it was pretty nice and warm. One of the workers directed us to the salsas in the fridge. Our order came out pretty quickly! Wow, this is a beautiful plate is nachos. The carne asada was nice and flavorful, guac was good, salsa was good. We forgot to ask them to omit the sour cream but my boyfriend wound up eating it. The chips were nice and crisp. Can't go wrong with nachos! We'll have to come back and try their other menu items. Service was great, food was good. No complaints!

Torta sort of ... A slice of asada mayo and a little avocado.

Bland and lacking flavor, we asked for salt and lime to bring some additional flavor to this flat appetizer. Ahi Tuna Tostadas - 3 1/2 stars. I get this dish every time I visit Mexico City, but the interpretation here was a bit bland and nothing special. Taquitos de Papa - 4 1/2 stars. My favorite dish of the night. This was cooked well and rich in flavor. Side of Refried Beans - 3 stars. Lacked flavor, added copious amounts of salt to this in an effort to give it more flavor. Moljacete de Carne - 4 stars. A huge dish full of meat and chicken, all cooked quite well. This was on the pricey side ($79) but great for a hungry group. Mole Enchiladas - 4 stars. This had a great flavor profile and was my 2nd favorite dish of the night. Sorry to bring it up again, but the service is why I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars. We'd ask for things like salt, water, and limes and were given attitude. We asked for knives for a party of 3, our waitress brought us one. I asked for additional take-out containers, that seemed to bother her quite a bit. We tried asking another waitress, Cecilia, for help and she was amazing -- I wish we could have had Cecelia all night, but unfortunately we did not.

Fast food is overpriced and unhealthy. So what are your options? Look no further, because Los Pericos (The Parakeets) has one of the best family meal deals in the Bay Area! It's extremely affordable and delicious. The family meals include tacos with your choice of meat, beans (refried or whole), Mexican rice, salsa, and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. They offer four sizes: 1 lb, 2 lb, 3 lb, and 4 lb of meat. They also have fresh carrot and orange juice, which I always enjoy while waiting for my order. It was relatively empty, with only one other party seated at the time. Service was friendly and quick, and we got our food pretty quickly after ordering. It's got a quaint hole in the wall kind of vibe, but was still clean - though not very air conditioned. We missed it, but there was a salsa bar in the corner near the entrance. We were served complimentary salsa and chips - nice refreshing, tomatoey and lightly spicy salsa. We also got guacamole, which you could tell was freshly made, chunky and refreshing. Glad we got this, because it helped cut through how heavy the molcajete de mariscos we got was. We were NOT expecting how large the mocajete is - this can probably be split across 3 if not 4 people. It comes out boiling hot, and with 3 tortillas, and a side of beans and rice. When we ordered, they asked us if we would want more tortillas since it comes with only 3 - we didn't even finish the 3 it came with. The sauce was tasty, tomatoey and spicy, and it was chock full of mussels, squid, sooo many shrimp, a whole filet of fried fish, and other goodies - unfortunately most of the seafood was pretty dry/overcooked. It came out to about $60 for the two of us. Overall, the mocajete was fun to try, but I think next time I'd try some tacos or a burrito if I were to come back.
