In the past we have loved Rideout's food and service until the new owners. This past week we ordered ham Italians and we're served a mess. The bread was wet and slimy, salami Italian had barely any meat, and customer service was horrible. We will not be eating at Rideout's again. read more

So we were in the area of Windsor around lunchtime and we were starving. We stopped at Rideout's market. It is a small store hooked with a small restaurant. There were several tables and booths occupied while people were eating. We went to the counter to inquire about the menu. The poor kid was swamped. He was the only one working in the food area. The phone was ringing off the hook and there were several people in front of us. When it was our turn we asked about the pizza sold by the slice. The warming pizza turnstile was empty. The kid immediately said that he just didn't have time to put another pizza in, but would do one right away. He did and the pizza was ready in about 15 minutes. It was a fresh dough pepperoni pizza that was done to perfection. We bought a couple of slices at $2 each. We were so pleased. Each slice had plenty of pepperoni, the sauce and cheese ratio was perfect and it was crispy on the bottom with puffy edges. I wish that we lived closer, I would be ordering more of those pizzas! Excellent road side stop in mid Maine at the intersection of 32 and 17, it's a general store, a gas station and a restaurant with seating, and NFL on as well! Order at the counter and they bring it out. Classic Maine menu with fried seafood, subs and pizza, super friendly as well! I enjoyed my Haddock sandwich! read more

when we first started getting takeout from Rideout's market the food was pretty decent. It has slowly gone down hill in the last few years. Ordered two sandwiches and some fries from there today and the sandwiches hardly resembled what they were supposed to be. Won't be going back anytime soon for food. read more

The only reason why they getting three stars is because the owner did the right thing! I've given this place more than one chance. Every time I ordered, my order was completely wrong and cold. The last two times we were took a time our food to be ready. I showed up at the estimate time both times my food was even started and I was took it was going to be another hour wait. The owner did the right thing the last time as after waiting for another hour my food was still incorrect. The owner gave me my money back for the order and he still let me take the food home. Nice little market and grill. However, I do not recommend the deep-fried haddock basket. Instead of a filet of haddock, expect nuggets in a thick tasteless batter. Very heavy and extremely bland - was it from frozen fish? Stick to the grilled food offerings for a better experience. read more

My wife and I went there on 10/8/2017 around 2pm we ordered a meatball sub with pepper jack cheese and cheeseburger wrap. Person took my name told me it 15-20 mins. So we sat down and wait for our name be called. 30 mins later we went to check on our food because we didnt hear our name been called. When we got up I saw our food sitting under the heat lamp. We got our food The meat in the wrap was dry and it had no flavor at all. I've given this place more than one chance. Every SINGLE order was messed up badly. I did speak to the owner at one time. He was a nice guy and did do the right thing. However the employees do not know what they are doing. First thing was they said 15 to 20 min wait. I showed up about 20 minutes after ordering. The food wasn't even started I wait for another 40 minutes for food. The second thing is the order was messed up badly. This has happened more than once. Third thing is the place smells really bad. Like garbage. I would rate them a one star however the owner did do the right thing for one of my orders. read more

I don't know about eat in service, but when I call ahead the food is always ready to go. I ordered the clam dinner and the carton was coming apart at the seams. Irish pizza is to die for. Hamburger platter lasted me 3 meals! Tonight I am going to stop for their 50 cent/per wings. You will have other choices as you move east on 17, but your going to have to get all the way to Jackson's in Jefferson for a meal that can even compete. read more

This is a small diner inside a gas station/convenience store, BUT the service is friendly and fast and the food was great. On recommendation I ordered a chicken basket and chose onion rings as my side. The chicken was hand battered when I ordered it as were the onion rings, they were amazing! My only suggestion would be to make your own dippong sauces or invest in some better ones, the honey mustard was Heinz and just eh. I was pleasantly surprised. read more

I only recommend it if you need gas/ something from the convenience store and have time to wait in line, the 1 cashier can be very slow at times talking to customers and backed up. Kitchen can't keep up with orders, order pizza, chicken basket & onion rings, told 20 mins arrive to get it 30 mins later and pizza was forgotten, onion rings sat on the counter as I waited 20 more minutes for the pizza, told my orders ready I check it and it's the wrong order aside from the pizza and onion rings. Finally get home and the only thing hot is the pizza. Mind you I live not even 2 minutes away. Called to tell them and was told they're sorry 2 ppl called out. The next night my grandmother orders calzones, 2 of 4 are doughy in the middle. Once again told 25 mins show up almost 35 mins later to get them and told they just went in the oven. I'll be driving 3 or minutes down the road where I've never had a problem. read more

I took my family there for dinner shortly after they opened. My husband and I each got a farmer's burger, and my two boys each had a hot dog. With a large fries for us to split (unnecessary, with the giant portions of hand-cut potato chips they served with the food), a root beer, and a root beer float, we walked out of there after spending about $20. The food was delicious, and the service was great. I've stopped in a couple of times for a breakfast sandwich and a coffee on the way to work, and am happy to see them open so early. It's not easy to find someplace that's open at 5am when I'm heading in to work, so Rideout's really comes in handy. I love that I can get a breakfast sandwich and a medium coffee for less than four bucks. read more
