If I could give her a 0 or negative 100 Review, I would. My dog had to have surgery. So on August 5th 2024 I took my dog in to have surgery to have some fatty masses removed. Doctor katsalis, the owner, did the surgery and sent my dog home with stitches that were loose at the edges and no antibiotics. I asked about the no antibiotics and was told , no he should be fine. After Surgery especially, I would think that antibiotics would be standard for either a human or an animal. Nope. This resulted in an infection and dehisced incision. The drain was left in too long which I found out later is a tube for infection and bacteria to go straight up into that hole. It's not supposed to be left in more than 2 or 3 days ,she left it in for 5. Needless to say we went back to get the drain out in August 10th and she said that the incision was healing nicely and that my dog had to keep the drain till Monday. The incision smelled putrid and I told her something's wrong. She took him back and she said she had to add some stitches by the drain. which was condescending because she, " didnt charge me for that". You just told me that the leaky, stinking incision was healing nicely?? I just paid around $1700 for you to hack up my dog! Funny enough she sends him home that day with antibiotics, Why now? I think she's trying to cover her butt because she knew she made a mistake. She knew my dog was in trouble and sent him home like that anyway. Needless to say ,the next day which was August 11th I had to take my dog in to the emergency vet in Highland because he didn't want to move at all and he had labored breathing., The emergency vet was very compassionate as he was telling me that there was no way that this incision would ever heal that it was infected and he had to perform the surgery all over again. So, now I have to pay for this surgery again and my dog and myself have to go through this process all over again. I had to pay another $1900 to fix her botched work. The pictures from after the second surgery are completely different from the first surgery he put the dog on antibiotics everything has healed fine ,thank you Doctor Wallace. In the end Doctor Katsalis refuses to admit that she made a mistake. She told me in 35 years nothing like this has ever happened ,I doubt that. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and she said in her response that she did nothing wrong and she would do everything the same way. I think that's pretty sad. She cares more about the money than the pet or the owner who's having to go through watching their baby be abused. She says she cares but she doesn't. I asked for a refund and she refuses. I can't believe she's that proud and that arrogant and she would treat her customers and these pets like this. Do not take your pet here for surgery. All she cares about is money. Love these guys. My dog is a rescue and is very skittish around new people but they are so professional and understanding and they take their time to know each animal that comes in. By the end of the visit, my dog was basically in the vet's lap and that's after they gave him a shot! Greetings, Ridge Animal Clinic located 3667 Ridge Road Lansing, IL, hosted a public event: Pictures with Santa on December 4, 2019. Pictures were free but guests were welcomed to make a monetary donation to Kitties for Keeps, a no-kill, foster-based cat rescue and Settler's Pond Shelter which I did at the time of my photo session. My daughter provided all our contact information: name, address, and email. At the end of the photo session, I asked when will receive our photos? I was told I could find them posted on the Clinic's social media page on Facebook. My daughter was informed pictures would be posted by the weekend, December 7th or 8th. December 10th at 9:27 AM, I contacted Ridge Animal Clinic's Facebook page inquiring about the Pictures with Santa because I had not received them yet. My message was viewed, but I didn't receive a response. December 14th I sent another message inquiring when the Santa pics will be ready. Again, messaged was viewed with no response. Monday, December 16, 2019, at 8 AM, I visited Ridge Animal Clinic in person and spoke with the employee who took the photos and shared my concerns as to why the Christmas photos haven't been shared. She wasn't apologetic or even attempted to take my info to verify what actually happened. Her actions came across as deceitful and she had no intentions of giving the photo my family and fur babies had taken on December 4th. Her response was she "had so many photos to go through." Why couldn't she send the pic to me right then during my visit?She also promised Monday during my visit, she would post the pictures later that day. As of December 19, 2019, I do not have a photo, my inquires have been ignored. Now I wonder if I was scammed/defrauded into making a donation. I'm trying not to let this sour our Holiday spirit, but it has. Xmas cards are now going to be late, minus our traditional photo. These actions are deceitful because I was promised over and over I would get a pic, now it's too late to go to another picture with Santa event. read more

The clinic was able to fit my Bella in to see the vet, who was having a bad reaction with her allergies. The staff was very welcoming and the doctor kept me updated with her visit. I always mussel Bella and it was such a breath of fresh air to see the technician walk her out without the mussel. She sense they were great as well. highly recommend this clinic. read more

This has been the worst vet experience in 30 years. Went in to have my dog looked at for a skin infection. Went back 3 times for the same infections and each time saw a different vet. They sub contract their vets and its a total mess. 3+ weeks of antibiotics. At least 3 office visits. Took bloodwork and nothing ever came back after waiting over 3 weeks. Now Im told the blood vials got broken in the mail. Nothing but incompetence from this veterinarian business. Find somebody else if you love your pet. read more

I have been a client of Ridge Animal Clinic for over 15 years. I consider myself fortunate that I live so close to a veterinarian who is not only herself second to none, her entire staff and consulting doctors are too. We are in the home stretch of a particularly heinous diagnosis of my 16 month old cat Milo. I knew in my heart that it just could not be true. But I didnt know how I could help or understand what was happening to my baby. Dr Katsalis treated Milo with the utmost care and attention, her staff moved swiftly to arrange for a good hospital referral (Milo needed a blood transfusion due to anemia) and she consulted with me during his hospital stay, his discharge, his post hospital visits and helped keep me calm and after a two month journey, we are seeing progress! it takes a lot of time to sit and write a review, but i do it on two occasions.... when things went extremely well or extremely bad! ridge animal clinic has done us wrong!!! i made a first time appointment for our new puppy for february 20, 2023. this was our third reschedule due to my husband's work schedule. on february 6, i called to ask a few questions. i spoke with rose. she immediately informed me that i needed to put down a deposit! i said is this something new because the other three times we've spoken, you never mentioned this! she said oh yes, this is for new patients. well instead of a deposit, she asked for the entire amount of the new exam which was $73...see first two photos! i went ahead and paid it so i wouldn't have to worry about it when we got there. so we get there on february 20 and we check our puppy in. rose hands me a eight page stapled handout to read about shots and etc for new puppies. i was going over it, but it literally would take about 30-45 mins to read. as i was dealing with my child, my dog and talking with my husband as this is all new to us (we've never owned a dog), i went to ask rose a question about one of the vaccinations our puppy would be getting. she was kind of rude, refused to answer, and said that why i told you to read the information i gave you. it's all in there! i really felt that was uncalled for for a quick simple question and not scold me like a child about to take a test in school! so ignoring that, we finally went into the room and didn't meet with dr. kat (owner) as i was told we would be seeing! we met with dr. walker who was ok. one vaccination was a kiquid that they put in my puppy's nose and now nine days later, my puppy is still sneezing from it :( here is my main problem. as you can see on the third photo, our balance for our puppies first visit was $148.00!!!! i asked rose why is this visot so high, with the exception of the vaccinations and other procedure? i had clearly already paid the new client exam fee of $73! rose kept double talking trying to make me think it was taken off, but it never was! here's the problem, especially with new pet owners, you are so focused and concerned about your fur baby that they think you're not really paying attention to the details. well having health issues myself and taking care of a sick husband currently, kids and a new puppy, i just got around to really looking at the invoice/receipt rose gave me on february 20....see the third photo. i highlighted in yellow where it shows we were again charged $68 + a $5 fee = $73.00 again!!! so yesterday i called inquiring about boarding fees and the cost of our puppies next set of shots. this time i spoke with julie who seems new, but is very nice! she gave me prices for a rabbies vaccine, flu vaccine, etc. $$$ i said well, we must first address the issue of me being overcharged and paying this new client fee twice. she said becky the office manager handles that. i said fine, have her call me! becky never called, so i called back later yesterday. i spoke with julie again. she kept putting me on hold to get the answers i needed! while in hold, rose gets on the line... didn't even say hello or introduce herself! she actually started arguing with me and double talking me again trying to make me think i'm crazy and can't clearly see that they have double charged me! of course i knew it was rose by her voice! she kept going with this same rehearsed lie that they didn't overcharge me and when i said all that your saying rose wasn't stipulated on the original onvoice/receipt you gave me on february 20, she then emailed me a "new" and more detailed invoice/receipt....see last photo! she still wants me to believe that the total cost would have been $221, but they have me a credit of -$73 that i already paid no, they have clearly charged me $73 twice for a new client exam and because of this, i have cancelled my puppies next appointment with them because i don't trust this clinic! why is it that everyone is trying to rob you or overcharge you? so this facility is willing to lose customers and go to hell over $73? just wow and wow, but god will deal with them! you can't treat god's children back and it not come back! what a man sows, that shall he also reap!!! i sent dr. kay a voice text via facebook and i am asking for a refund immediately of our $73.00! i told the breeder we got our puppy from about what happened. he said they aren't a good place to take your fur baby! he said they charge outrageous fees for these vaccines, but they literally only pay one dollar for them wholesale...something we as dog owners can do ourselves also! i am disgusted with roes' attitude and poor customer service and its been an overall very bad experience in which i will keep taking everyone i know about it! i don't want a phony reply from this clinic! i don't want a phone call! i don't want another tired explaination!! all i want is a refund of my $73 back!!! read more

Ridge Animal Clinic could be a very nice clinic, but a few of her staff members aren't so nice. I found them to be deceitful and unprofessional. I think the vet is clueless about some of the actions of her staff and believes anything they say. That's unfortunate. You are only as good as your weakest link (V.) People don't want to deal with nonsense. We just want someone to do a good job for our pets. You have excellent ratings, because you erase the bad ones. Been here and in my 25 years of owning dogs, I would have to say this clinic is in the bottom tier. I can't envision anyone driving to this substandard clinic from Chicago or from Lombard. In other words, some of these 5* reviews don't pass the sniff test. Here is my experience: I'm visiting my parents with my 10 yr old Briard. I forgot my Rimadyl at home, which is 4 hours away. I call this clinic as it was the only one in my mom's phone book. Long story short: they insisted that I pay for a $50 exam and then $2 per pill (they only carry the generic). Rimadyl is a dog-only drug; it can't be used by people. My vet faxed his prescription and the dog's most recent bloodwork and shot records. Staff were rude. In essence, I was forced to pay $60 for 5 generic pills because they are greedy. All they had to do was fill the script the vet had faxed over. My vet won an award last year for being voted the best clinic in a city of over 250,000. I know an excellent vet when I encounter one. There are no computers in the exam room and the door of the cabinet was hanging off its hinges in the room I went into. Rooms weren't the cleanest I've encountered. Waiting room is crowded and animals are too close to each other. This is not a state of the art facility. And to the person who kennels their dog at an animal hospital...the clinic, if reputable, would tell you that kenneling your dog/cat with sick animals would be disturbing to them. Where are the dogs walked or played with? Your pet deserves better than Ridge Animal Clinic. Sign me, a no-nonsense PhD from Wisconsin that loves her dog. read more

Sure, this is not the fanciest vet office in the area. But it is also not the most expensive either. What you will find here is a very caring staff, that truly cares about the welfare of your pet's health. I have/had pets just about my whole life. I have been to many different vet offices in the area. But none have shown the true heart compassion for my pets as I have discovered here with Dr. Katsalis and staff. When I walk in, the staff immediately recognizes my dogs by name. Actually, even before I enter, as I am pulling into the parking lot. My dogs can't wait to get out of the SUV and enter the facility. I can tell this is a place they love to be. I have been in the back where the pets are housed many times. In fact, this is where I trust my pet family members to stay when I vacation. When I pick them up they look torn between remaining and going back home? That is when you know that your pets were cared for appropriately. I just hope they will always be here when I need them. The staff is very friendly and the whole process went great. The staff and doctor explained everything to me and answered all my questions, I was able to trust them. Dr. Katsalis is not only a fantastic vet, but also one of the nicest human beings I have ever met. She genuinely cared about our dog who had a gastrostomy. She called us to check on him after hours and she met us at the clinic on a Sunday because she was genuinely concerned for his well being and wanted to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. She is far and away the best vet we've ever used. I would recommend her to any one. Also, her entire staff as a whole is fantastic. Very kind and caring. Their prices are very reasonable and they worked with us to get care credit for our little guy's surgery. My husband and I have been taking our cat Wrigley to Ridge Animal Clinic for several years. I always thought they were a little pricey but they were close and they had her records. The last few times we have been the staff there, the staff has been rude. Still wanting my cat to get treatment we continued to bring her there. The last time we brought her there, there was another cat in the waiting room with a similar name. Apparently, the staff cannot handle having two cats with similar names in the office at the same time. My bill was listed under the other cats name, his/her last appointment as well as the other owner's name, address and phone number. They are now claiming I owe almost another $100.00 on top of the $374 I paid for administering shots that I was not even aware my cat had. I have a friend who also told me a similar story of her dogs lab work getting mixed up with another. She found another vet and I decided to follow suit. This clinic has refused to turn over my pets records to her new vet. The new vet as well as myself have called numerous times and have been treated extremely poorly. I believe this to be unethical as she is my cat and I have paid them lots of money over the years. I am really disappointed that they will not turn over my 15 YEAR OLD CATS RECORDS. They have proven that they only care about the money and not about the well being of their patients. read more
