Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I took about 9 years off from playing, and decided yo get back into it I came here because it's close to where I live. The course is in great shape, the greens are nice. apparently they've done some work to the course in the past few years. Blues played almost 6900 yds today. People are friendly, and for $45/mo, and $19.95 walk on rate...... you can't beat it. I would prefer if they had all grass for the driving range, but it is a public course. come out and give it a shot read more

It is a shame what current management has allowed to happen to this course. It's also unconscionable that they charge approximately $70 green fees. They've lost this course. I can't imagine I'll ever play this course again. They don't even put any potable water on the course. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I play public courses all over North Texas and this is the worst. If we express your concerns to the pro shop they blow you off. I'm out!!!!! read more

I played here when it first opened up in the 90's I was a weekly regular and the place was great. In the last 5 years I've played it about 5-6 times a year. I played it on 12/2 and was very disappointed. Most greens have poa annua and on some it's dominate. They've always had an irrigation problem with standing water, leaking heads and saturated ground in front of most greens but now it's worse. And, I'm not a fan of 5-somes but they let them out. Counted two 5-some groups during the round. All in all it's overpriced and I won't be back. There are several much better courses in the area for less cost. read more

I have been playing Ridgeview since the first weekend they opened in 1997. It has always been a great track until recently. The course is still very popular but current management has not invested in maintaining the course. The bunkers are unplayable and have been for years. They punched the greens at the end of the growing season last fall and they have yet to recover. When we mentioned the timing of the aeration with the new GM, he said they would be perfect in a couple of weeks. Still waiting. The freeze in February was not kind to any course in the metroplex. I pay 3 to 4 times a week all over DFW and I can honestly say that Ridgeview has the worst course conditions of any of the courses that I play. I played my last round there recently. I refuse to pay top dollar for inferior conditions. Current management refuses to lesson to customer suggestions. Instead of upgrading the course, they recently added TopTraker to the driving range. At the same time, they terminated their agreement with a highly successful teaching school with an awesome kids program. How can TopTracker cure someone's slice? Don't even think about eating at Ridgeview. They used to have good food but current management has taken the grill to an all time low. I'll come back when they terminate the current GM and superintendent and invest in upgrading the course. This won't happen soon as I understand the GM is the son of a company executive. Do yourself a favor and play somewhere else. You will have a much better experience and pay less money! read more

My group played many times before Covid and thought we would start playing there again but making a tee time is such a hassle I doubt we will ever go back. read more

Beautiful course, horribly managed. 3 hour front nine on Saturday (6/4/16); I quit after nine because the pace of play was so bad, but the rest of my group carried on and wound up carding a nearly 6 HOUR ROUND OF GOLF. Called the clubhouse to ask about getting a marshal out and if they were aware, and was essentially told that that's just what happens when you're playing cart path only, which is a load of crap. The truth is that they sold a metric ton of Ideal Golfer coupons and instead of using that to fill in post-noon tee time gaps, they used it as a money grab and squeezed as many people on to the course as they could. It's a shame, because the course was in great shape, and even though the "7 flavors of multi-family housing community" backdrop isn't great, it's a nice course. But it's not worth the $60 green fee the way it's managed. read more

If I could rate it a zero I would. Conditions were terrible. There was construction on every hole going on as we played. Hole 17 was closed. Not once did any employee bring this up when we booked the time or when we paid. We complained after and they did not care. By far worse experience ever on a golf course. read more

Would suggest taking off month or more from playing course. While fairways are country club quality, the greens keeper saw fit to take outstanding greens and plug them with nickel size holes that are not healing in heat. If you like putts that go in randomly based on what plug you hit, this is your place. As a footnote, in playing yesterday there was someone (pro?) giving on course lessons. While eventually played through, on several holes had to wait over 20 minutes for 6-7 year old to hit ball. Never seen a course allow this before. read more

Played twilight yesterday. An absolute bargain at $21. Everyone we interacted with treated us just fine. It's a solid four-star but I'm giving them five because of all of the unnecessary one-star reviews on here. You're not going to play on any Muni on the weekend in 3 1/2 hours, you know that going in. If there are better fairways for $21, please enlighten me. read more

Absolutely frustrating place to try and play. Never again. Booked 4 fivesomes in front of us and just said it wasn't their fault and no one listens to them. They just don't want to do their job. After playing this morning, not sure we will rush back and here's why. The tee boxes are in rough shape, with weeds everywhere. There has been little effort to maintain them and the greens, and yet they want to charge a premium price to play. So, the value is just not there for $59-$69 per person. read more

The course is nice so far. However the lady at the snack counter is very rude. She is not helpful and the food is not anything special. We are still here playing but will not return because of the staff!!! Someone needs to address this! read more

I have never rated anything, but felt this was necessary! Today was my first and last time here...guys in pro shop were just ok when I checked in, the course is not a bad layout but not in great condition, the starter was not welcoming at all, and lastly, the cart girls and the girl in the restaurant/bar are were just downright rude...not just once, but every interaction! There are WAY too many public courses in the Dallas Metroplex to have to put up with that!! read more

Worst maintained golf course in DFW. Greens are full of weeds. Fairways are full of fire ant hills.

The course has a very nice layout. The staff was very friendly. The unfortunate part is that the golf course is pretty much destroyed. The aerated greens this late in August is a bad idea. The grass in the fairways is trampled with millions of tracks of golf carts and divots from too much overuse. The front edges of all of the greens are soggy and trampled with awful divots and pockmarks making it very hard if not impossible to chip. I was happy that I played a pretty decent round of golf for me and the time we played was very good.. It did not feel crowded and the course did not play slow... It was unfortunate that the track itself has been completely demolished from the summer of golfers tearing it to shreds and never filling their divots plus golf cart madness has worn down every single rough and fairway.. Shame, the course deserves better. read more

Great course. I like the layout, the playablity and the staff is really friendly. Join the Palmer rewards program and get gifts and discounts along the way. The play can get a little long at times but the course has enough challenge to allow you to work on your game while still having a good time. read more

I used to play here all the time. 4 times a month or more. The pace of play has kept me away. I can't justify five plus hour rounds. The course is pretty easy and they've made the bunkers playable, but the pace of play is excruciating. You see marshalls driving around constantly, but they do nothing. There is probably one Marshall (Mike) who would ask a group to speed up. The greens are always puttable, and that's where it stops. For the money, I'm playing elsewhere. Great course for a muni. They punched the greens a couple of weeks ago and it is still a little bumpy. You can expect a weekend round to be 4 1/2 hours which is the downside. But the condition of the course teebox to green is very decent. I love playing there. The range is OK but you always hitoff mats which is a very big disappointment. read more

Great golf course, a real hidden gem. Great use of the land with multiple tees to challenge any skill level. Very friendly and helpful pro shop staff. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes in great condition. Pace of play was reasonable on the Thursday afternoon that I played. read more

If you are going to charge $63 for this goat track than you need to be nice to your customers. The staff acts as if they could care less if you play there. Its a $30 round at best, not worth a dime more. I used to play there often when the price was reasonable but our group has moved on to a course that has a friendly staff. I think its time management takes a hard look at the pricing structure and I would say its time to clean house with the staff. read more

The course is over priced and in terrible condition. I planned a golf tournament and received a voucher for a free foursome. That sounds awesome, except it has to be after 2pm on the weekends. Given the time of year, you cannot get in a round of golf if you tee off after 2 pm. I called and asked if there were any exceptions given that it gets dark at 5:30 and I was promptly told no. Hard choice between 3 or 4 stars. The course layout is good, challenging, yet playable. The greens are a little bumpy, but almost back to normal from aeration. Played the last two weekends and play was acceptable through about 13 holes where it then slowed appreciably. Time to complete both times close to five hours and like to keep it to four. Still, will check into joining their players club which has free unlimited range balls, and some free green fees and seeing if there is a way to cut playing time. If not, will keep looking. read more
