Solid brunch spot with happy vibes. Some friends and I came for brunch, and one of our gluten-free friends suggested this spot because it's such a vegan/vegetarian/GF-friendly spot. The menu is deep and it's easy to get lost in the pages of choices. At a friend's recommendation, I tried the short rib hash. It's a bed of crispy tater tots, blanketed with tender short ribs, two eggs (prepared however you'd like), and a drizzle of three different sauces: hollandaise, sriracha aioli, and a cheese sauce. This was rich and decadent and the first few bites were fantastic. As you can imagine, the underlying tater tots got a little soggy towards the end and all the sauces felt a tad rich to truly finish the whole thing. Service was all right, though it was interesting how order deliveries were divvied up. We had a main server who took care of most of our needs, but several others who dropped by to deliver drinks and still another to bus tables. In the mix, some of our drink orders got mixed up and only the people in our party who explicitly asked for waters got them. Inside, the space is brightly lit and attractive. There's a good amount of seating, but on a Sunday lunch hour there was a small wait so it might be worth calling ahead if you're expecting to arrive during a heavy mealtime or coming with a large party. Bite is located in a larger complex with plenty of parking, but since there are so many other eateries and cafes, things can get a little tight around weekend lunch or dinner hours. read more

I really wish I had paid more attention to the reviews before coming here. At first, the restaurant seemed inviting--the decor was nice, and the space looked clean. My friend and I had brunch here over the weekend, but unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was $14 for a tiny portion and some crackers--not worth the price. Our lattes were good, probably the best thing we ordered. My omelette was just okay, nothing special. My friend's salmon, however, was ruined by a strange sauce--some kind of orange squash combination that just didn't work. Overall, the food was underwhelming at best, and while the staff seemed nice, the service was painfully slow. To top it off, they automatically added a 20% gratuity to the bill, which felt completely undeserved given the lackluster experience. This is exactly how you lose customers. Visited for lunch with my niece. It wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. The restaurant has a very cute aesthetic and very Instagram worthy throughout the restaurant. I really wanted to like this cute place but it fell short on many levels. The decor is really cute with black and white theme and an open kitchen and the counter staff were very friendly. The chicken in the chicken shwarma was awful, very chewy, inedible. I could get one piece down. I was only able to eat the rice, hummus and pickled onions which were very tasty. My daughter ordered the squash sweet potato soup which was very thick. The flavor was good but the consistency was not soup, it was thicker than any bisque we've had. The Arnold Palmer drink was very good. The total was over $40 for one Arnold palmer, one soup, one chicken shwarma and one side of bread seemed steep for the quantity and quality. Stopped in for Saturday brunch, had a really nice time! ***GLUTEN FREE babes*** This place struck our radar for advertising many gluten free options. However, please check/call before ordering and consuming, for those with allergies to gluten/celiac. We asked the waitress, so kind and friendly btw, to help us confirm if the fryer is GF and dedicated to non gluten items. They had so many options that are GF noted on the menu from salad, buns, and pizza, etc. The male manager (or owner) kindly stopped by to let us know they were in a transition stage, and will soon be operating under gluten free fryers but are currently mixed with items that contain gluten. For our son with Celiac, this day did have a bit of a challenge for us without fries and some items he had in mind. However, the cauliflower crust pizza ended up being win, he loved it! Pizza was delicious. We also recommend their beverages-- juices were freshly made and the lattes were cozy and tasted great. Was NOT a fan of the short rib hash. It all became mush because it was soooo much saucey items. We would come here more often once they can keep this a consistent gluten free spot, safe for those who have Celiac and severe gluten allergies-- prioritizing the lack of cross contamination. read more

Let me start with a tad negative, but nothing major. 20% tip is included on each bill which is totally fine considering the food is delicious, though the wait staff is sadly lacking. I'm sure the mandatory 20% and the homemade "NoStarbucks" sign is because of all the HS brats invading after school who are clueless when it comes to any form of etiquette. There is a typo or two on the menu but hey, all is forgiven. And oh yeah, don't ask for butter for your waffles or pancakes, they don't need it and the butter is...well not sure what it is but it's definitely not butter. Now for all the glorious good and rating. Ambience is sleek and polished. There is a huge selection of funky drinks. And get those pancakes! They are made with a tad of a crunch and the blueberry compote is absolutely devine. The chicken & waffles...another hit. Very cute place to enjoy brunch. We arrived and were seated pretty quickly. Lots of options. We ended up getting three meals to share. Plain home style pancakes, brisket cubano, and the mac and cheese skillet. My fave was the cubano. Great portion and it came with fries. The slutty chai was just what I needed on a chilly morning. Bite is absolutely worth the stop. The food was excellent, and the menu is one of the most impressive parts of the experience. There are so many different options to choose from--sandwiches, wraps, bowls, salads, and breakfast items--something for just about every taste. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating a menu that's both creative and approachable. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. My personal favorite is the Mediterranean sandwich--easily one of the best things on the menu and something I'd order again without hesitation. One thing to note: the food does take a little while to come out, but it's clearly made to order and absolutely worth the wait. Quality over speed here, and it shows. I enjoyed a " Florentine breakfast scrambled" which was served with a small salad dressed with a simple dressing. I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5! The chicken was seasoned and the waffles were fluffy and sweet. The portion was just enough for one person and priced a little higher than it should be been. I also had a side of decent breakfast potatoes. I would've rated them a little higher but my food did not come out pipping hot. I was seated close to the coffee bar and the area where the QA person checks the food before it's served. That area seemed to be the hang-out spot for the staff so it was a little awkward listening to their conversations. Yes, they do add 20% to your check and I get it. However, the service I received was basic. Maybe if they would pay the staff a decent hourly wage, they wouldn't feel the need to automatically charge customers 20%. I saw a waitress (not ours) walking around in a bare midriff top and a mini skirt. But I wasn't bothered by it at all. I had a lavender latte. It tasted good but didn't have as strong as a lavender flavor as I wanted. My friend's Philly cheese sandwich with peppers was very big and oozing with meat and cheese. I tasted it and it was very good but warning that you have to be in the mood for peppers and onions because there was a lot of that flavor powering through. I got the churro French toast. There was nothing churro about it. It's just good French toast. Yes it has cinnamon, but most French toast does. I wasn't a fan of the whipped cream on top. But I loved the way the toast was cooked. Crispy and fluffy and lots of berries on top. There was one drink with mango and coconut my friend ordered that said it has love in it. Yes love. We asked, and yea it's not an ingredient it's love! We had really high hopes for this place. This was a second and last time we will be going here. Service is horrible (both times) and the worst part is they automatically add on a 20% gratuity. We always tip 20% even for bad service but they call the 20% a service charge for the staff while still asking you to add an additional tip at checkout. We saw our waitress once and our table and the table around us had to get up and find someone for service (water, utensils, napkins, the check). I literally waited at the front counter ignored for over 5 minutes when I finally gave up and chased someone down to beg for our check and some to go boxes. Everyone was very nice but you would think this is a brand new restaurant with the lack of service and basic restaurant operation. Any restaurant that adds an automatic gratuity for a table of two will no longer get my business. This is why the service is so bad. The staff couldn't care less about providing good service when they get their tip anyway. Chances are many don't pay attention and add more to the tip without realizing they just tipped 40%! Three stars because of the menu and food. Zero stars for service and the crazy automatic gratuity. Our group will never be back. read more

It took 30 minutes just to have our order taken, and judging by the expressions on other customers' faces, they were just as frustrated. Dirty plates remained on the table until we left, and there was no offer of a coffee refill. The server was nowhere to be found if you wanted to order another. They handed us the check before we even asked for it and immediately inquired about payment. A 20% service charge was automatically added. When I expressed dissatisfaction with the service and refused to pay 20% tip, they insisted it was mandatory. To make matters worse, the tip options they present are based on the total, which already includes the 20% service charge. If you're not careful, you might end up tipping on top of the tip--essentially a scam. When I raised my concerns, it was like talking to a wall. This place is super cute and the food is good! Beware that they do not serve pork so bacon and chorizo types of dishes is replaced with Turkey. I ordered the huevos rancheros - everything so was tasty but my sunny eggs were a touch under (the egg whites on top were not cooked so the clear sack slid off). Also, the turkey chorizo is a patty rather than crumbles so it was hard to cut and a little dense. But the flavors of all of the sauces were divine! My bf ordered the churros french toast - it was more like a dash of cinnamon but we really liked it because nothing was too sweet and they put tons of fruits on it! Convenient location at Fair Lawn with ample parking spaces. They have outdoor seating available too when the weather is nice. Came in to have some light eats and decided to get truffle fries and brisket tacos. The truffle fries was really good and nicely flavored. We enjoyed this order very much. The brisket was filling too especially with the avocado included and was a good shareable item on the menu. I'd like to try the shrimp tacos next time though. For drinks I tried their Cocoa Ruby which was coco and beets. It was something new for me and both flavors actually worked well with each other. Taste was mild though. Couldnt say I thoroughly enjoyed it but it was something I wanted to try on that visit. My husband wasnt to fond of the latte too. He felt it lacked some espresso. The drink was ok and it forever for the food to arrive, and forever to be seated. As for ambiance, I guess it was ok. I have a new favorite menu item: fish tacos. Very delicious even without the chipotle aioli and without the jalapeno. The filling looked disappointingly sparse, but they were VERY tasty, and I know that if they had added more slaw, it would have fallen out of the tacos anyway and made a mess. Love their cut up fruit bowl; very sweet. Love the caramel cookies. Addictive. Plan to order all three of these menu items again.
