local, efficient, awesome... I use them all the time. They are so convieniamt. They are always on time.

I've been buying tires from Tire Rack for about 20 years, having the tires sent to local installers. Never a problem, until this time with Right Away Tire of Lynnwood. When I ordered the tires on Dec 24th, Tire Rack quoted $156.00 for installation by Right Away Tire. Adding 10.1% sales tax (Bellevue, WA), $156 would be $171.76. That's high, but the prospect of having a mobile installer install it quickly was appealing. With more snow imminent, and with poor tires on the car which I'd just bought used, I wanted to get them installed ASAP. This mobile installer would be faster, right? Wrong. Very wrong. With the tires on the way, I called to try to set up an appointment. They said no, we'll call you when they arrive. A day after tracking showed the tires had arrived, they still hadn't called, so I called them. I was floored to learn that the soonest appointment they could give me was 10 days away. I would have had them installed sooner at the non-mobile installers I've used before. The scheduler told me they got "LOTS of cancellations" (emphasis hers) and put me on the list to be called when there was a cancellation. But there was no such call. I checked partway through to confirm that I was on the list; she said I was. I had to wait the full 10 days for them to come--11 days after the tires were delivered to them. When the Right Away Tire installer arrived on Jan 14th, the guy tried to charge me over $270, about $100 more than expected (I don't recall the exact amount he said). His body language as he told me the price suggested he was expecting pushback. No wonder; that's about double the going rate. When I objected that it was much more than Tire Rack quoted, he blamed me, saying I must not have been paying attention to what the Tire Rack pages said, and not noticed additional required charges beyond the base charge, mentioning the tire disposal fee as an example. I walked through placing another order at  Tire Rack, choosing the same tires of the same size and the same installer, reading every word about installation and following all links (I stopped right before finalizing the sale). As far as I can tell, I was correct that the charge should have been $156 plus tax -- including tire disposal. The tires were installed just two business days later by a nearby shop. For $127.20 before tax. I tested them at 70mph; smooth as silk. Oh--the installer told me that I would not have had to wait the 11 days after delivery if I had bought the tires from Right Away Tire instead of just using them as the installer; he said they would have been out here "right away" (as soon as they recieved the tires) if I had done that. Interesting. He also said Tire Rack was a very bad tire seller and often sold defective tires. Well, I haven't had a bad experience with their tires over the last 20 years. Another thing was weird. For four days before the tires were delivered, the tracking in the morning showed that the shipper (On Trac) had them out for delivery. Then that afternoon instead of showing them delivered, the expected delivery date was changed to the next day. Meanwhile, other delivery trucks were driving by my house each day. And I was driving around myself. So, was On Trac really unable to drive the tires from Seattle to Lynnwood each of those four days? Or did On Trac drive them each of those days but found no one home at Right Away Tire to sign for delivery? While it was happening, I assumed something weird was going on with On Trac, but now I'd put my money on the latter. read more

What's better, is if you've got an AWD vehicle and need one tire replaced due to damage they can shave the tire to match the tread wear. Used right away tire for new tires on my 98 BMW M3. I had cords showing through, and knew I had to get something done about it. I'm extremely busy, so going to a tire store and dealing with the "could be soon, could be a few hours" isn't an option. Was vastly easier for me to schedule ahead with right away, have them show up at my place, and take care of my tires while I was working. No standing around in a lobby, cheap shitty popcorn, or a sales pitch after for work I wouldn't need. Simple, easy, straightforward, done right, and most important at my convenience. I own an auto shop, but don't do tires. Having an awesome tire shop that is mobile is one of the best things! I ended up buying my own tires before contacting them, but they actually do have solid tire pricing. After I had my tires I did their online scheduler and setup a day and time. Right away arrived with their sprinter van and quickly go to work carefully removing the wheels off my M3. It's no exotic, but they still treated it like one. They cleanly and safely removed the tires from my old wheels, and put the new tires on without damage to my wheels. Before putting my wheels back on they made sure to clean up my wheel hubs, and put some anti-seize on there to make sure my wheel wouldn't fuse to the hub. With the tires mounted and balanced, they put the wheels back on, torqued them to spec, and made sure to give it a double check to make sure everything looked good. I found Right Away Tire on Yelp when we woke up the morning of our road trip to a flat tire. From what we could see, it looked like a screw puncture, plain and simple. So we were hoping for a repair vs a replacement. I also couldn't pass up the fact that I wouldn't have to pay for towing and that they'd come right to me for the fix. When I called Right Away Tire, I was asked some basic questions. They prepared me for the worst (replacing all 4 tires because, 4-wheel drive), but sent me quotes for a repair and for the replacement. One part of the process that rubbed me the wrong way is that they ask you if you want the tires with the warrantee, but it's the same warrantee that's on all tires anyways. So you're paying extra for pretty much nothing. And they make you pick which tires you want ahead of time because they have to come to you. So make sure you pick the right ones! I also explained that the car was parking in an above ground garage. But when they showed up, there was a lot of confusion about that fact. Otherwise, the experience was fast and they were THANKFULLY able to just repair the tire. I can't tell you how happy that makes me. Overall, this was still an awesome option to fix a flat tire and I'd definitely call them again. If you live downtown definitely give them a try. read more

It's amazing that mobile tire service is just now becoming a thing. What a ridiculously easy process it was to have my tires rotated and a slow leak investigated. With the bit of snow our area recently had it was a great opportunity to really see how the new tires performed. I think this follow up is important because part of my purchasing experience with Right Away was landing on what tires to go with. I was contemplating either all-season or winter tires and Blake was great at asking clarifying questions, providing a recommendation, and then explaining the reasoning behind that recommendation. Ultimately I went with Blake's recommendation for winter tires and couldn't be happier. The road noise is almost nonexistent, the wet handling is superb, and the grip on the snow/ice in my unplowed neighborhood roads was a huge improvement over last year when I had the old all-season tires on. My front passenger tire went flat and I wasn't sure if I had a leak or curbed the tire.
