Awful experience with party bus services for a wedding. Booked several months in advance and provided detailed day plans along with addresses and times. The owner communicated receipt of this and promised an arrival time which would have allowed plenty of time for transport of bride, bridesmaids and mothers to a church. However, the driver arrived 45 minutes late with a filthy bus which also smelled of stale cigarettes. During post ceremony transit, the driver had no idea where to go or when and continuously asked for directions. Precious time lost. Would not recommend. read more

The Place The Right Spice Supper Club is located at 2102 4th Street Peru, Illinois. This small town Resturant has its own unique character. The seating area is larger then most people realize. There are two separate dining rooms and seating in the bar as well. The bar is full stocked and Matt mixes up some great drinks. Besides fantastic food, they also have some good weekend entertainment. Whether you enjoy guitar music, karaoke, or being entertained by an impersonator there seems to be something for everyone. The Menu Their menu offers appetizers, sandwiches, salads, oscars, steaks, seafood, pork, chicken, and pasta. We had a onion ring appetizer, an entree of Norwegian Salmon with asparagus and then an entree of Seafood Pasta. These entrees were very good. The Value/Service/Experience Our Service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The prices are very fair for the quality of food provided. Food is good. Service is attentive. It's a dining room attached to a bar. So, the ambiance!!

Let me start by saying that we will never return to the Right Spice in Peru IL again. We had a dinner reservation for 7:30 p.m. last night. Along with that reservation we reserved 3 orders of Prime Rib. We arrived at the Right Spice and were seated at our table. The waitress proceeded to tell us that they were out of Prime Rib. We told her that we had reserved 3 orders when the reservation was made a week ago. She went to check and told us that a mistake was made and they are out of Prime Rib. As we were walking out we told George (the owner) that we were not happy and he said mistakes happen. No apology, no attempt to make it right. My husband said this is your mistake and George told us to Fuck off and get the hell out. Is this the way you treat your customers Mr. Steinbach? Here is a little advice.....If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. read more

Great service and good food! Was in town visiting in-laws and wanted to try a new place. Heard good things and decided to try it out. Had drinks beforehand and hostess and bartender were both friendly and great with recommendations. Nice selection on the menu, and a nice basic salad bar. Had bacon wrapped scallops, and they were top notch! Wife and in-laws had fried chicken. They were more than pleased with their choice. All three had the twice baked potatoes, and raved about them. Locally owned Illinois Valley dining is the best in the world, and this supper club is always a fine choice. Tasty and reasonably priced, the signature seafood is a pleasant surprise. Scallops wrapped in bacon are succulent, and when dipped in the available German-recipe bearnaise sauce, over wild rice, will make you forget about your favorite crab or lobster dish. Having Peggy serve you is always a pleasant delight. (Mondays for sure). Weekend prime rib is highly rated, as are the bacon wrapped pork loins. There are bar tender prepared mixed drinks, and plenty of beer choices for those so inclined, but I prefer a nice dry red vino. The salad bar is compact, yet stuffed with delicious sides befitting a local supper club. Put this on your list as a must stop supper club in the heart of delicious dining. read more

Went on a Saturday night . No reservation. The place was packed and very noisey. Hubby had the prime rib. Delish. Very tender. I had the salmon. Very well cooked but where was the seasoning. It was described as grilled rbutter and seasoning. Not sure about the butter but I am fairly sure they did not use any. Definitely no seasoning. Just a grilled piece salmon. Well cooked but bland. I do not salt more than once. I had to salt a couple of times. Otherwise I would have given 4 stats. Salad bar is fairly well stocked for size. read more

Nice little bar/restaurant. We had excellent service at this modestly priced establishment. The menu is quite heavy on fried foods. There were 5 of us in our party: two had salad bar only, one had the fried chicken, and two had the all you can eat fried cod. All of us were pleased with the quality of the food. The salad bar is small but adequate, with only iceberg lettuce as a choice in greens, but there are a number of additions available, including excellent pickled beets. The bar is very inviting, and they have a lot of beer choices. Very clean (restrooms,too). Worth a visit if you are in Peru! read more

We had the Right Spice cater our wedding and we could not be happier with the way everything turned out. It was amazing! I can't even tell you how many compliments we got on the prime rib and roasted pork loin. George and Deanna were wonderful to work with and extremely responsive whenever we had questions. We even rented our party bus from them. We will definitely be visiting their restaurant more often. And I'm sure all our guests will be too as they are craving more prime rib. read more

Not sure where the 5 stars come from. I'm puzzled. The owner is a complete asshole. We've been giving him business for years on the holidays. We were there tonight for the Christmas Eve karaoke. (6 of us bought drinks all night.) I was sick and we decided to leave quickly and accidentally left our debit card to close the tab. (Yes, that part is our fault.) We live way out of town. I called Edge's bar because I saw he was there. Read that last sentence again, I literally called Edges and they put him on the phone. I told him what happened and apologized greatly. The first thing he said was that he wasn't at Edges. (WE WERE ON THEIR PHONE LOL.) Anyways, I asked if he could quickly have someone meet us there because it was all the money we had. He responds and says, "I don't know what to tell you, I'm not there." He could clearly hear I was panicked. He wanted to mail it, and with the holiday I wouldn't have it for awhile. I said that wouldn't work and asked if anything could be done. He hung up on me. I called back and they told me he left. (Two seconds later.) My husband and I went to Edges, he was gone. We went to the Right Spice (a few blocks away) and the upstairs light was on. Had my husband knock on the door to try to reach someone. His wife answered and was nice as can be, and apparently he told her the entire story. He wouldn't do anything about it, but he went home anyways! (They live above the bar.) I could understand if he were out of town or far away but he was DOWN THE STREET! When he came out and saw it was us, he immediately gave my husband a hard time saying, "I guess I'll get the card, now we have to find the keys. That's why you carry cash instead of a card." His wife even told him to be quiet. This entire situation is ridiculous and could have easily been resolved and taken care of. We will no longer be a customer at your establishment and I'll be sure to let everyone know what happened. Oh, and your bloody mary's kind of suck too! Merry Christmas! read more
