Very Disappointing Experience with Ace Door Repair…read more We previously used Ace Door Repair through Old Republic Home Protection and had an okay experience, but this time was completely different. Our garage door came off the rollers and would not close, and the issue also damaged the wooden housing. Ace came out and told us that the repair was not covered by our home warranty. Since then, the experience has been extremely frustrating. They told us they had ordered a replacement panel and would return to complete the repair. I took an entire day off work for the scheduled appointment, only to have them not show up and not call. After trying to reach them, I was eventually told the part had been ordered--but it turns out the part was never ordered at all. What is most disappointing is the complete lack of communication and follow-through. If you make an appointment and tell a customer a part has been ordered, you should honor that commitment or at the very least communicate when something changes. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Ace Door Repair. They did not stand behind their work, failed to communicate, and wasted an entire day of my time.

I'm accustomed to the challenges of local repair work and companies seeking to squeeze in as many appointments as possible for their technicians, so wouldn't lower my rating on this occasion. My technician, Luca, was very qualified, professional, and customer-focused. He provided the price estimate beforehand, and although it seemed a bit expensive, it was worthwhile for the repairs required of a 35-year old garage door which had never been repaired. Not only had the cable broken, but the tracks were out of alignment, and several parts had to be replaced. He also applied Silicone spray for lubrication, and showed me in detail how to do so (and which parts were most critical, and how often) myself. The warranties seemed reasonable too.
