Best cheeseburger in Chester County... and I've done the research! Lol! We love it there. They have delicious nightly specials also. It's a deceptive place. It looks like a grungy dive bar in the woods in West Bradford (which it kind of is...), but they are serving some of the most delicious food in Chester County. Great music and clientele also. Traditional dive bar tucked away in the woods of Downingtown. Extensive menu with affordable prices. Live music regularly although it's not always great and it's very loud in the small space. This is a local place that we frequent regularly and I have never posted anything before but am compelled to tonight. They have the regular menu and usually a specials addition and I usually get something from the specials. Tonight they had a smash burger with a Mexican twist that was fantastic. Ok experience. Inside and outside seating available and was nice. Great service. Hand rolled pretzel knots and loaded nachos were really good. Food was average. I had a Modest Burger and I don't know what a La Frieda beef patty is but it tasted like a regular smash patty to me. The Caprese Sandwich was excellent, everything fresh and flavorful. The Southern Buttermilk Fried Chicken was delicious but the juice from collard greens unfortunately ruined the bacon cornbread. read more

First time there in its current incarnation. The place was packed and I can see why. Great selection of beer on tap, live music and great food with large portions and decent prices. Inception burger was to die for and the charred brussels sprouts were great. If there was a downside it was that the service was a bit slower than I'd like and that they don't manage to combine the check from the bar and the "restaurant" together --even though the bar and the restaurant are "together". I've now been to this establishment several times. Excellent beer tap list, and I had a full meal for dinner last night which consisted of a really good steak, sauteed mushrooms, massive baked potato and a half a pound of Peel n each shrimp. Went back to this place after a subpar experience in the past- This time with take out. The inquisition burger and Caprice sandwich was really really good. Everything was fresh. This place is a diamond in the rough! It's location is off the beaten path which makes it very quant and the wooded scenery is very comforting to sit in ! It removes you from the hustle and bustle of all that's going on in the world ! They have live music and music trivia and every night they have different specials to choose from and they usually are all very delicious and foods from different parts of the country , each entree is made from scratch so the wait on your order is longer than other places but your food is fresh and prepared with passion because the chef actually enjoys and cares about what is served to his customers ! Lately the service has been not as good but that is mainly due to having new servers who aren't experienced or have had training but that's fixable and they will fix it but right now in any buisness it's not easy to find people yo hire and it's hard to find people who have good work ethics who know how to work hard with good customer service skills , but that's not here every employee is nice and tries to make every customer have a great positive experience and with more experience the servers here will become great but the food is perfection and always tasty !! Love going here and the owners are great people , very personable and they are very down to earth and very interested in how you are being taken care of and if you are enjoying your food and if not they will do what is needed to make you happy !! I've heard good things about the Righteous Tap House and since we went for a walk on a trail close by, we decided to stop in for lunch. I think I ordered every beer that they were out of but the waitress was nice and made some great recommendations to substitute what I was looking for. I ordered the Friend Chicken Sandwich and the husband had the Chicken and Waffles. He really enjoyed his and I have to say that the gravy on top of the chicken and waffles was so good. My fried chicken sandwich was really good too. They give you a big piece of chicken with cheese and peppers. The atmosphere of the restaurant isn't much to boast about but as long as they keep on having good food and beer then I shall return. read more

Gone are the days of mediocre beer and overpriced food! Whoaaaa, this new bar is such a huge step up from what I've experienced through the years of visiting. It's basically like transferring from dccc to Yale. My friend and I stopped in today after hearing such great things about this newer spot. This place is absolutely beautiful. I kept walking around taking pictures. You're welcome Yelp. ;) whoever decorated this place should be on HGTV. The male urinal was a keg. Historically this could be my first yelp review that mentioned the mens urinal but hey it was noteworthy. Multiple items on the menu caught my eye but I wasn't very hungry so I settled on the hummus plate. My friend ordered the inquisition burger. Saying he devoured it is an understatement. I even made a Snapchat story showcasing his contest like speed. When I say it had at least 12 views I'm not embellishing. Lol. My hummus was very good! Such a great portion. Would be good for 2-3 people to share. Fresh pita was served with kalamata olives, roasted peppers, cucumbers in addition to the hummus with feta. The draft beer list was broad to say the least and the helpful bartender helped me sample to see what I liked best. They had 3 plus sours on the menu which is a rarity from my experiences. Righteous Taphouse exceeded all expectations! I look forward to my return and I intend to bring anyone and everyone I've ever known in my 30+ years of life. We were in the area on a Wednesday night and looking for a venue that had some live music. We happen to come across this place in an online search and gave it a try. Glad we did, has we had a very enjoyable evening. Service was really good and our waitress was friendly and efficient. Live guitar music was fabulous, and the singer took requests and was for the most part able to come up with any song we asked for. Update: the food has gone drastically downhill in the last few months. You can taste the dirty grill on the proteins. They over-salt the blackened chicken to the point it's inedible -- even after requesting they tone down the salt. We've stopped going. It's a shame because they started off so promising. ********* The food is amazing. The beer is good. Forget the sh*t show that is World of Beer. This place beats the PANTS off of any local establishment AND you're supporting local business! If you love a great burger, try the Inquisition Burger. Wow. Whoa. Came in for a happy Sunday brunch and it never got better having walked in the door. Bartender couldn't be bothered to smile. Ask for a recommendation, how dare you. Being close to the mushroom capital of the world (Kennett Square), decided to try their version of mushroom soup. Should have been spelled MUSHroom soup on the menu. Came out a salty, mushy brown paste that failed to complement the wonderful vegetable. For main course, tried the pastrami sandwich. "Tried", because one could not chew hard enough to get through the beef between the overly buttered grilled bread. Had to leave half of the pastrami on the side of plate as it would have taken me an hour to soften it up enough for digestion. When the bartender asked how things were (after noting the pile of pastrami on the plate), I advised that the pastrami was borderline inedible to which she just shrugged her shoulders. So, zero for two on the food. Only bright side? An abundant beer selection. However, could not drink enough that early on a Sunday to wash away such a poor experience, one that I'd likely not have to confront again anytime soon. read more

Been coming here since they opened and we absolutely love the place! The food is always good and never disappoints. Service is usually amazing as well. But recently, since we've been there, they have a new bartender. I think her name is Ashley. I bet you could scream in this girl's face while she's looking at you and she still won't acknowledge you or try to serve you. We've been in a few times since she has started bartending and we always love to give people chances, but it seems unless you are a younger male with a pretty face, she won't even give you the time of day. I feel awful for the other bartender there that does everything around her while she's just standing there talking and frankly just in the way, not even trying to help. We will always come back as we really love the food and the people. But this girl needs to either get some lessons or just sit down and find a different line of work . read more

This place rocks!! Super cool location, very friendly and fun staff, and an amazing beer list. It is a verified Untappd venue so you can look at what beers they have, prices, and be notified when they add new beers. This place looks like a little roadhouse tucked in the woods. I've driven by this place many times over the years and finally decided to stop in. Parking is spacious, and I sat at the bar, which was moderately crowded and a nice atmosphere. Mike the bartender was solid, the beer was good and cold. I had the Righteous Wings which tasted average, but 8 wings, 1 beer and a standard tip was $22 - high for West Bradford. For me, 10 Wings for maybe $10 or $11 tops on the menu instead of 8 wings for $14+ with tax gets Righteous my 5-star. read more

This place sits back off a country road. It was crowded when I showed up. Half priced wing night is totally worth it. Beer list is great; not like a bunch of local places that only have IPAs. Plenty of TVs. A neat curved bar. My Caesar salad was mediocre at best. Fries were excellent. Wings were excellent. A friend had a burger and enjoyed it. Went here with the bf as we had heard good things. We went on Wed when there was acoustic music. The duo playing were perfect great selection and not super loud. The theme is a fun, southern irreverent ?!?!. The hostess station is an old church pulpit so if your sensitive about religion etc FYI . It reminds me a little of the bar from True Blood. I had originally thought the GPS was leading us wrong as it seems to be in the middle of a neighborhood. Great beer selection , got the cider which was very tasty. But for the main reason to visit the food omg so good. Starters we got specials parsnip soup with bacon/sour cream drizzle. I will have dreams about this soup so, so good and the beet salad with pistachios, goat cheese and beet vingerette. The soup and salad are reason enough to visit. On Wed they have slider specials went with 2. The regular bbq burger and a Panko breaded fried tomato. Both were decent, the burger meat a touch dry but the fried tomato should be a sandwich of it's own. The fries were tasty and the dipping sauces super yummy. BF got the Mac and cheese which was gooey and crispy at the same time. I brought home the burger in the picture for my son burger,bacon jam, egg he was very happy. Drove out to this spot based on reviews. Glad I did. Don't be put off by the exterior which screams 1980s roadhouse. The food is worth the trip. It is best described as high end pub food, quality ingredients and well crafted dishes. The Shepherds Pie was large, with very tender beef and large perfectly cooked chunks of carrot and potato. came here for the first time this past weekend- it's always fun to try something new and i like the overall vibe of this place: casual and laid-back with a lot of beers on tap. here's what we tried: -cheesesteak spring rolls - 4/5 stars- large and crispy and flavorful but not the best i've ever had -nachos - 2.5/5 stars - we added chicken to ours but they just put strips of grilled chicken on top which doesn't make the nachos very shareable when all the chicken has to be cut into pieces. cheese was only on the very top layer of chips too- a common flaw with nachos. -buffalo wings- 5/5 stars - wings were delicious. crispy but not burnt, sauce was excellent and wasn't so thin it slid right off like I find happens with a lot of wings. these are a must-have when you visit! -shrimp tacos- 4/5 stars - these were good and big with lots of shrimp but i knocked off one star because they literally could not be eaten like an actual taco...I had to use a fork and knife because the corn tortilla just disintegrated. overall we had a good experience but the reason i took off a couple stars was that they were out of a LOT of things. there was a tap line that wasn't working, a keg kicked right after we ordered a beer (it happens), they were out of a couple menu items. Their draft beer list, although pretty long and diverse, just didn't have exactly what I was looking for- no 'must-try' beers. I don't care for stouts or sours and besides those, it was hard to find something over 6% ABV. I stuck with my go-to triple karmeliet which is hard to find on tap so that was appreciated but I do like to try something new as often as possible. we will certainly come back again to try it out- hoping we don't run into the same problem of so many items being 'out.' read more

Pretty cool place tucked back in West Chester. The mahi mahi tacos were excellent; however, the "Reuben" was very salty & tough. The bartender was super friendly but definitely could use a lesson on pouring beer. My 10 oz. beer was served with a 3 oz. head. Dropped in for a quick bite and a drink. The roast pork sandwich was packed with beautiful, lean sliced pork, juicy and tender. On a great roll. But, the rabe was blah - nicely cooked and tender, but with almost no flavor and if there was any garlic, it was in some other part of the kitchen. A little spark of pepper flakes and some garlic would elevate this to perfection!
