Shady company. Rigo's accepted a binding contract through SafeShip and the day of the move, demanded an additional $3800 AFTER 10 hours of packing. We could either pay or they would empty the truck. they damage several items and packed without any common sense. Our original estimate of $14k was increased to $21k three days before the move and then an additional fees extorted in the last hours making our grand total to be over $25k to move a 5BR house- 45 minutes away. Owner's response to this post is not sincere and is false.... customer Service was dismissive and insulting. Waiting until 2pm to demand additional funds left us no choice and numbering largely empty boxes to give the appearance of a larger move is poor business. I'm doing everything I can to warn people. I've managed 6 major moves in my life and this was horrible. read more

We just had our things moved in with Dimitri today in Florida and everything went great! He is was so quick with bringing everything in and then even building our bed. Very nice and easy to work with. The customer service on the other hand, was not easy to deal with. The women on the phone were a little rude when asking for clarification. Was originally told that the truck would take 7-10 days to get from LA to Florida, but when we called 14 days after, they said it takes 2-3 weeks. One of the girls on the phone was not as nice when I tried telling her that we were told something different They did take great care of our things when moving us out, taking it across the country, and moving us in. So definitely recommend them if you don't mind dealing with the customer service. read more

When movers showed up, I could tell it was going to be a good day, these guys are so respectful, hardworking, cleaning up after themselves...many people told us to be skeptical of moving companies and horror stories but it was opposite for us. When the team showed up, they were ready to work,started by wrapping each item with care using moving blankets, stretching wrap & carefully putting onto truck. It was 108 degrees out but they kept loading the truck up. They cleaned up well, put doors back on hinges, will definitely use their company again! read more

This was my spouse's and my first time making a big move out of state--from California to Texas. Finding a reliable, honest, and fairly priced moving company can be extremely difficult and stressful. It can become an even bigger headache when the moving company or broker (Vantage Moving Company) is not transparent and misleads you for weeks leading up to your move, as well as on the day of the move itself, making it impossible to afford... Fortunately, Rigo's Moving Company ended up being the company outsourced to us through Vantage Moving Company--which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Rigo's Moving Company was not only honest and respectful, but they also worked quickly to find a solution that allowed our boxes and furniture to arrive on the original date we had arranged with Vantage. Their team was incredibly helpful and accommodating to our requests. I highly recommend going to Rigo's Moving Company directly for all your moving needs rather than a broker. My boyfriend and I hired this moving company to move cross country and they arrived to pickup our stuff yesterday. We were told we would be called an hour before they arrived. Instead we were called right when they arrived, giving us no time to prepare. This was the first unprofessional sign. On the pickup day yesterday, they claimed our items were more than our allotted 350 cubic feet, even though we measured it all and it was clearly under the limit by quite a bit. We are unsure why they kept saying our stuff took up too much space, and they offered no explanation for it either. This was the second bad sign. They also forgot to mark and take a few items, even leaving one of our boxes in the hallway outside of our apartment (I'm assuming they were in the middle of taking it or something?), which we did not see until hours after they had left. We tried calling today and were put on a string of calls with no real solution yet. It's extremely unprofessional of them to not only forget to take some of our stuff, but also to take it out of our place and leave it in the hallway, where anyone could've stolen it. This was the third and final straw. With these three issues, this moving company was unprofessional and sowed seeds of untrustworthiness throughout the whole process. Do not trust this company with your items. If you must move with them, even though it's a hassle make sure to watch all of your stuff as they take it. Then, check inside and outside of your place to make sure everything is taken properly. Beware that they might try to claim that your stuff takes up too much space. EDIT: We had to call repeatedly, but they finally sent someone to pick up the remaining item. Whether or not it all makes it to the final destination... We'll see. I will update this if they do. UPDATE: Though all of our originally-loaded stuff made it, they did not manage to bring the item that they forgot and picked up later. They are not picking up calls, so we suspect that they have blacklisted(?) our number. read more

This is part 2 of my yelp review. I originally gave Rigos delivery a five star because I saw the workers work hard packing and wrapping my breakable pieces. The Forman told me my tip was too little and said my items exceeded the limit and if I tip them more he would leave my bill the same. I tipped him $400. This was to move me from Northern California to Henderson Nevada. I had to take a complete loss for everything missing and broken. My items were not opened until 9 months later when I purchased my home. I would NEVER hire this company again. They transferred my items to a different truck, consolidated my boxes and a lot of my things did not make it to me. My garden blower, 30# metal pick for outdoors, most of my kitchen items, several pampered Chef pieces, baking mixing bowls, butcher knife etc...my marble table top was broken. It is too difficult to file a claim, they are asking for pictures and dates for items I've had over 20 years. My advice is move your own stuff. You will know everything will make it. read more

Chuy and Ricardo did a little packing, dismantling our beds and television then moving them and and all our boxes and a very heavy safe from our 2 story apartment apartment, first to drop off the safe to our son's house in Castle Heights and picking up a Peloton exercise bike from him, then proceed to our new home in Santa Monica. Then assembling the beds and unloading everything. All this work with big smiles and pleasant demeanor. They were very careful with everything. They have been our movers from 3 years ago, storing our belongings in their storage facility for 3 years then moving them to our house so a total of 3 moves. I would highly recommend them. read more

I would not recommend this company. They were quick, the actual pick up of my items went well. When they were delivered, a number of items were broken, not too unlikely; however, my cello's bridge and machine heads were broken off; my partially upholstered 100 year old chair appeared to have a knife thrust through the upholstery. I have emailed them asking if they will contribute to the cost I have incurred and have not heard back. Apparently, fragile is not a word they understand. This review is specifically for the truck driver and delivery crew who delivered my things in North Carolina. I should caveat that the Los Angeles based crew who did my pick up and packing was truly exceptional - highly communicative, efficient, professional, kind, and simply the kind of movers you want handling your precious stuff. 5 star material. The North Carolina delivery crew was nothing of the sort. Ahead of arrival, the driver called me and asked me to confirm that the storage facility where they were going to deliver my things allowed parking for 18 wheelers. I called ahead to the facility who confirmed that 18 wheelers deliver all the time and the driver should have no problem. I told the driver this. The communication around delivery was also subpar - he told me Tuesday 2-4pm and when I texted on Tuesday morning to reconfirm, he texted back "sorry tomorrow." While I understand the change in plans was due to severe weather in the region, the communication around the change was not proactive and I had to shift my schedule multiple times to accommodate at the last minute because he did not say anything when he knew he'd be delayed. Upon arrival, he did not attempt to pull the truck into the storage facility lot but rather blocked a two lane high traffic road during rush hour, jumped out of the truck, and began aggressively saying that an 18 wheeler would not fit in the lot and that I had not told him the truth. There were two helpers who had shown up separately in their own cars - one of whom reeked of marijuana, could barely string together a full sentence when asked a question, and kept zooming around on a small skateboard. I went in and spoke to the on duty manager of the facility who once again told me that 18 wheelers deliver all the time and the truck driver simply did not know how to drive. It was certainly not a straightforward navigation, but ultimately there ended up being PLENTY OF SPACE and he managed to pull in just fine. He was clearly inexperienced in navigating an 18 wheeler, or he wanted to make it seem like he was doing me a favor by going to the trouble of simply doing his job. This entire process took about 30 minutes during which he continued to block a heavy traffic road. In the middle of it all, the driver called his boss Ana at Rigos and shifted the issue to being that the distance from the truck to the entry of the storage unit itself was more than 75 feet. I had been told that the measurement was from the truck offloading door to the entrance of the facility which was no more than ten feet after the driver learned to actually drive and parked correctly. Instead they used a measuring tool to find that the entrance to my unit was 177 feet from the truck, and that while the first 75 feet were free, there would additional charge for the other 102 feet at a rate of 75$ per 75 feet but without any pro rata option for the leftover 27 feet, so a total of $150 extra. My unit was on the first floor, my delivery comprised 30 boxes, one chair, and one bike (defined by the broker as a "mini move"), and the facility had carts to stack boxes and roll them easily to the unit - so easy, a young man who was stoned out of his mind could do it. At this point, I was ready for this nightmare to be over and simply agreed to pay the $150. As the young men rolled the carts to my unit, they repeatedly crashed them into corners and walls, thinking it was funny. My things are probably fine, but it was unprofessional and uncalled for. The entire actual move took 25 minutes max. At the end, the driver made it seem like he had done me a huge favor by parking the truck at the facility door so that the extra charges were minimized. I felt pressured to sign the papers because I was so flustered and upset, I felt pressured to agree to an extremely unfair $150 charge (frankly my mother and I could have moved the things ourselves and looking back we probably should have because there were carts available at the storage facility), and I felt pressured to tip and give a good rating because I was forced to do the rating in front of him. When the LA moving crew did their job, I was so surprised to see this low Yelp rating. Now I'm not so surprised. Avoid Rigos for anything outside the LA area. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I repeat, do not use!! I booked my cross-country move with Safe Ship (who also, is rather useless and a scam), just to end up with multiple broken items and missing boxes. 1/2 of my husbands stuff is still not here - and they will take ZERO responsibility or accountability for breaking/stealing/misplacing nor will even try to do the right thing in refunding some $$ back. THOUSANDS of dollars stolen from us. The packers/movers were quite rude also. Came into my home and insulted me - thought by speaking Spanish, I wouldn't understand. Wrong, very wrong. Being very careless with our stuff - and breaking my ceiling fan right in front of my face then trying to say it magically fell from the ceiling!!??!? I ended up getting charged over double what was quoted to me. What an absolutely terrible experience, and I cannot recommend enough to anyone to NEVER USE them! Here's your warning... read more

First of all this company charged my boyfriend and myself so much money to move my things from Hemet CA to Tampa Florida. They didn't even bring all of my belonging and threw away a lot of my stuff as well. once my stuff made it Tampa the delivery guys would not put my stuff in the apartment unless we paid the different of almost 2,000 dollars. We were charged 7,000 that did not include my car to bring to Florida. I even tried to see if the claim department would help me get any money back and the moving company denied all of my claims. Were beyond pissed, they quoted one price and then raised it another $1700 saying some items were not added to the quote, the delivery drivers got snarky with us over the payment, then when we started going through boxes we discovered over 20 boxes of our items missing, including fine crystal, 4 large boxes of dishes, a Kirby vacuum. I never give out bad reviews to companies, but this one is by far the worst moving company that I've ever had to deal with. Rude customer service, extortion of money, somehow legally. We were informed that the movers weren't going to make it with their truck into the parking lot. When asked from the building manager, someone with the exact same size truck had moved in a month prior, everything was super easily set up for big trucks. Then all of a sudden the issue was the speed humps, when asked what model truck they were driving, the issue was the turning angles. Moving the goalpost to make more money. Only would've TRIED delivery if we took written responsibility FULLY of the truck. FMCSA agreed it was fucked up, but only way to force them to try delivery is to get written statements from building owner and city, which we didn't have time for. SafeShip takes no accountability whatsoever for this either. read more

RUN AWAY. We paid over 50K to move from California to Maryland and 40% of our items were either broken or missing. I can't rate them low enough. Chair legs broken as it slammed on the ground. They put a bottle of purple shampoo in a box of my clothes, all ruined. I'm missing a $500 lamp, and the list goes on. They offered me 97.80. They can shove that pup their ??????.
