OMG the Bahi Tuna tacos were great and the Crap and Mussels pasta was marvelous. Black Raspberry White Russian drinks were also great. Loved the tatertots which is homemade and nothing like I've ever seen done elsewhere. the Mac and cheese dish for the kids was big enough to feed 3 kids and super cheesy and delicious. First time to Riks Cafe, my wife really enjoyed the beer and blueberry salad as well as the black bean burger. I had the chicken Chesapeake, it too was excellent along with Riks ceasar salad. Service was on point. We will definately go again. read more

We had been trying to come to this restaurant for a while and it just never worked out for some reason. They were always too busy or what have you. We finally were able to get a reservation and gave it a go, but I was a little disappointed for as much hype as this place gets. I think they may be resting on their laurels at this point. Don't get me wrong, the food and service was good, and the restaurant was clean, but the portions were pretty small for how much they charge and it didn't leave me amazed like a restaurant this popular with a 4.5 star average should. It wasn't bad, and I would come back if someone really wanted to come here, but it wouldn't be first on my list of suggestions for places we should go. I'd give it a strong 3 stars. Not bad, but a bit overpriced for what you're getting in the area you are getting it. read more

Good food and service. We had the BBQ pork sandwich, Cuban, kids burgers and the Buffalo burger. The buffalo burger was the only one that was given an "ok" by the family. Service was amazing. There was a young black man with blonde hair that was super versed on the menu and had the greatest suggestions. We had a handful of Mule's that were super refreshing. I had the black bean burger and sweet potato fries. The only reason it's not a 5 is the flavor of the black bean burger I needed to add a bunch of the orange sauce they have to make it more appetizing. The black bean burger had kernels of corn which I'm not a huge fan of but overall it was a good taste. My Line sisters all liked their food. read more

We had 30 minutes to grab a quick bite before our grandson's Little League game and stumbled upon this hidden gem in a strip mall near the field. I wish we had more time to savor but we really enjoyed our meal and the bartender was great in getting us served and out the door on time. I had the grilled romaine salad with shrimp - delicious! Lettuce held up well to the grilling and the shrimp were large and tender. My hubs had the Reuben sandwich and loved it. Loaded with tender meat. We loved this place, and our server Adam. The service was fantastic and the food was sold it. We had the buffalo chicken dip it was was very tasty, we loved the pretzel pieces. My boyfriend had the special, it was a NY strip, cooked perfect medium rare. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic! I had the braised short ribs, they were so tender they fell apart with just a little pressure from the fork. I would definitely recommend this little treasure if you are in the area. read more

The menu here is kind of fantastic- lots of creative sounding options. And their beer selection is pretty good too. The staff is always very nice. Where it falls apart is with cleanliness and thoughtfulness. Do not use the bathrooms- for two reasons. 1) You can see the really gross kitchen and you walk by boxes of potatoes on a dirty floor. And 2) the bathrooms are filthy Also, the food sounds amazing on the menu but when it comes to your table, it is all there and I tastes pretty good but it just looks like it was thrown in the plate with no care- a big pile of mess. Maybe I've just had bad luck the four or five times I have visited but maybe not. It is indeed a very popular place. read more

I can't recommend Rik's Cafe. For this review, I had the Calamari appetizer and Pork Medallions entree. The Calamari appetizer was among the best I've ever had. I was happy, then I had the $22 Pork Medallions. The small servings were undercooked and tough at the same time. They tasted like the pig died of natural causes. Maybe the tough little guy was quickly prepared after losing a boxing match. No, it would have been more tender. My wife shared one of her Blackened Mahi Tacos; they were unremarkable at best. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and the service was great, so it was too bad about the entrees. read more

Another great meal at Rik's! Daughter and I had "bubbly" martinis (delish!) to whet our whistles - suggested by our server, Matt. Since she is a low-carb/pescatarian, none of the appetizers really appealed to her. So, we asked if there was anything the kitchen could do with a crabcake. Matt was "on top" of it! He came back with a miniature "side" crabcake and tartar sauce - just enough to share before our awesome dinner. She had the salmon with the veg of the day, fresh Brussels sprouts, and I had the special, a cheese-steak lasagna. Both of our meals were perfectly cooked/presented and delicious. I made the mistake of eating all of mine (it was sooo good!), and was too full for dessert (not even Krumpe's donuts on the way home... waaah!). read more

And sweet potato fries come with...apple butter! Such a good combo that I never would have thought to try. Excellent service, prices reasonable for quality of food, great atmosphere. Knew I would like this place just based off the sign out front. I should have taken a picture of my food, but it was so good that it was half gone until I thought about taking pictures. Food is really expensive and way overcomplicated. I wanted a nice simple sandwich but there wasn't a single thing on the menu that wasn't smothered in goat cheese, seafood, mushrooms, or avocaddo. Wow. What a gem! We love to eat locally and not in chain restaurants, and Rik's was a pure delight. Andrea took such great care of us. She was friendly, fast, had perfect food and wine recommendations, even though she was busy with many tables. My husband had the blackened pasta and I had the crab cakes. He loved the pasta and my lump cakes were some of the best I've ever had-mainly crab instead of filler! Post-covid It is becoming harder and harder to find great restaurants that have attentive service and delicious food.
