We decided that day to go to the shooting range to fire the one he showed us and we LOVED the HK VP9 and decided that was the one. The next day we returned to purchase it but Doug was not there, Jim Cummings welcomed us in and helped me with my purchase of my first gun. Jim was amazing, also very knowledgeable in the details, very patient and friendly and gave us so many tips, websites to go to and a business card for training. I am very happy with my experience. As a budding gun enthusiast and someone who's new to shooting (2 years in), I've been looking for places to get target practice in and to improve my skills. XCAL is the nicest gun range I've ever been to! The facility is only a couple years old, so everything is still shiny and new. I arrived here on a Tuesday late afternoon around 4ish and there was already a line. Seems like a popular place, so get here early if you want to avoid lines! While I was waiting, I checked out their retail area. The counter staff was very knowledgeable about all the guns I asked about and had helpful suggestions on other options that they though I would like. When my lane was ready, they called my name on the intercom. The staff who helped check me in was also super friendly and asked me how my day was. I told her it was my birthday! She threw in a free target with balloons on it! I asked to rent a PCC and full automatic glock with a couple boxes of ammo. They said the glock rental was on the house for my birthday! Sweet! Normally full automatic glock rentals are about $85. I ended up paying for the PCC rental, a couple boxes of ammo, plus eye and ear protection (about $109 in total. this included ear/eye protection for my wife who joined me in the range). The full automatic glock was incredibly fun to shoot! I felt like I was in a John Wick movie! I highly recommend trying it out. The range staff took all the helpful safety precautions on site, including for this particular gun. A range safety officer was required to be next to me to use the full auto, and loaded the magazine for me. For the PCC, I was able to load it myself. Best range experience I've ever had! The facilities were state of the art and all the staff were so helpful.

Chris Hansford is an incompetent millennial who runs his FFL business out of his home. He takes…read moremonths to respond to emails or perform any task related to his FFL. Incompetence seems to be a common theme in the town of Purceville. Christopher is terribly disorganized. He originally took MONTHS (never completed transfer) to transfer a revolver from VA to MD despite receiving all of the requested paperwork. Since he never completed the transfer, I had to contact guns.com to mediate a return. Christopher only responded once guns.com was cc'd on the email. Now I am waiting on him to return the same firearm to guns.com. I have been waiting for 1 month. Guns.com sent him the required forms/FEDEX shipping label and I payed Chris the required fees. Per the tracking, the revolver is still sitting at his house. Did he lose the gun? I have purchased firearms in numerous states and this is the worst FFL I have ever used. Purchasing a firearm in a liberal state like Maryland is easier than dealing with this kid. I actually need this for my business, not for running around my London County home like a cheap John Wick knockoff/special forces groupie. I was originally hesitant about using his services since he was a young man who operated out of his home. He certainly confirmed my suspicions.
