We were sat on the bar side, there one one other booth of people and a handful at the bar. Our food took 20 or so minutes to come out, it was very slow. Our drinks were empty for awhile. The one person working the bar and floor did not check on us at all after taking our order. Finally our food came out, fish n chips was good, fries were great. Again a other 10 minutes and then finally she asked if we wanted refills, then brought out cans of soda. I would expect little to no service here and slow but good food. Bar food that's typical, strong drinks if you don't mind wrapping your truck around a pole. I have to be honest I spent a couple of months working there, so my insight is valuable and jaded, because things are not clean and staff only caters to regulars. You never know what you're gonna get when you enter the vortex of the 'Bagger!!! Shenanigans aplenty. The games afoot!! The crowd is fun to watch. The later it gets, the funnier it becomes. I'm usually an appetizer menu type guy. The sliders and dollar fries are my go to. I've had a few other things and they are ON-POINT!! Everything I've seen, and or sampled is amazing!!! We had a Christmas function, 2023 next to the sandbagger saloon and diner. It was a blessed event and with my microwave not being able to be plugged into the electrical system the sandbagger stepped up and said you can come in and warm your drinks in our kitchen. I was not allowed back in the kitchen, but the workers gladly warmed all my drinks for my customers so I owe a big thank you to them for this kind act. I also want to recommend their tater tots. I was hungry during the event and found that they had tater tots and I haven't had tater tots since I was a kid; I ordered some and they came hot and ready for consumption. Stood at the bar for 10 min, then sat right in front of the bartender, while she bar served 3 people that came in after me, finally handed me a menu and came back to serve another couple after me. She finally asked me what I would like, then walked away again. 20 min in the bar..no drinks and no food. Boooooo, I was by my self. I was going to order over $100 worth of food to go and their special was a blueberry vodka lemonade. I will never come here again. The inside was tacky I mean the bar and stools were sticky. I want to love this place but they make it so hard. A couple of adjustments could really make a difference. Service: I get short staffed but to completely ignore patrons for several minutes as they sit at a table is rough. It immediately conveys 'your business is not valued'. Acknowledge them with a friendly welcome, at the very least. Food: The number of mistakes is too high. We have come to expect something will get messed up every time. Someone doesn't get their order, order comes out cold, order comes out wrong. It's one thing or another. These are easily remedied with additional training and attention to detail. read more

A client and I stopped in yesterday for a burger while out looking at property. We walked in and was greeted by Tara. So sweet and friendly. Made us feel like locals. Our burger basket was fantastic. I wish I could put more stars because this place can be awesome! But it is so inconsistent with bar service and FOOD TASTE that I feel like I'm being generous with 3 stars. Super pricey for food that is sometimes fresh or you can just tell they pulled everything out of the freezer. Is your food going to be hot? Or is it going to be cold? You never know, but you do know that you'll drop $100 easily. Everything really changes here because they've had different owners over the years, but the crowd doesn't change. Ok we live here and rarely drop in, its more of a tourist spot than a local spot. We feel like we need to try it every once in a while, and we have not been back since the pandemic. We generally don't go because it's usually terrible. Once in a great while you might get lucky and get a decent meal. Today was not the day. The fish and chips were cold in the center. I let the waitress know; she said that she would check on it. She never came back. I finally got her attention while she was bullshitting with customers at the bar and came over and said they were frozen and probably stuck together. The bill reflected a three piece fish and chip with no offer of a discount. Her tip DID reflect her lack of empathy tho. All y'all tourist... we are glad you are here and enjoying this beautiful spot that we live in. But do yourself a favor, don't support a business that isn't willing to try a little bit harder. We live close by and stop in periodically for food and drinks. The drinks are always good and strong. We like the salads and the wraps. I would not recommend the prime rib. It appeared to be reheated and it was tough and more like a piece of well-done roast. I've had it twice and it was the same both times. My wife and I took a seat at a table and attempted to signal someone from the wait staff. No such luck. Flys everywhere. We waited for more than 5 minutes before my wife walked up to the bar to see if we could get some menus. The bar tender didn't even acknowledge her. The place was EMPTY, so no excuse for lack of attention. We left without even being acknowledged. The place used to be fairly good but has completely gone downhill in a few years. We shared the 4 piece fish and chips. It came out in a reasonable amount of time, hot with plenty of really good French fries and side of coleslaw (slaw was average). The fish was fresh and flakey and the batter was crisp. They get a 4th star for the fresh fish. We were actually there with a large group, we took up the whole patio. Unfortunately 2 people at our table did not get their food and by the time we got the waitresses to find out what was going on we were more than half way done with our food and our friends decided to pass on theirs. They apologized and offered to give them their dinners to go but by that time we were all requesting our checks and they didn't want to bring the food in their car. Great atmosphere with friendly staff! We were pleasantly surprised by the large menu selection. I had the Asian chicken salad and my husband had the chicken bacon ranch wrap. The waitstaff is always nice but the new owners have cut portion sizes on some of the food. I asked if the portions have changed and was told they had. Not good business. This place is terrible. We have gone here many times over the last 12 yrs, since it is close to home. It has consistently gone down hill. We heard that there are new owners which we were happy to hear in hopes that it would be better. Sad to say it is now even worse. We ordered 2 appetizers and a prime rib dinner. It took 45 minutes to get our food and there were very few other costumers. The prime rib was awful. The quality of the meat was very poor, it was like chewing leather. Saturday we went to Sandbagger with friends that just finished Gambler 500, we ordered Prime Rib which I was looking forward to as it has been great in the past. We walked in, one waitress one bartenderr the place was packed. A 20 top just finished waitress was running around with little help. When the PR arrive the "baked" potatoe was smashed on to the plate, no foil, little skin to cold to melt butter, vegis shriveled, but the worst part.. the au jus smelled like limberger cheese we both thought we were getting a whiff of blue cheese dressing but it was the meat and sauce. The meat was grey like they had microwaved it, when we called the waitress over she was repulsed by the smell, why she served it I don't know, they refunded the money becuz it was obviously so vile. I should have kept it and taken it to the Health Dept. it was that bad. If the cooks don't want to serve something why not say they are out instead of serving something so disgusting. This has been my favolrite place for 8 years, I will be sharing my experience with eveyone I know at CRR. I get staffing is an issue but shouldn't someone alert management get a bus person down there to help at the very least, well that's what you do if you care. I can still smell that meat. read more

I was pretty disappointed the last time we went. My husband and I rarely go out, and we decided since it's close to home why not? Well we went somewhat later (7) the restaurant wasn't busy at all which was nice! We order our food, I got the fish tacos, he got a burger & fries. It took about 35-40 mins for our food to arrive, and when it did my husbands food was cold!! My fish tacos were not good, and they forgot the cilantro, then I waited, and waited for some water, and to mention the lack of cilantro and we looked over & our waitress was just standing at the bar twirling her hair maybe she was new? I'm not sure, if it was busy I completely understand, but it wasn't....so when she finally came over, I told her my tacos did not have the cilantro like they were supposed to, so she apologized, and brought me back some. They did take half the price off my tacos, but I was still so disappointed. read more
