We have always loved coming to Rincon, but this time was disappointing due to the service. The servers and pourers were completely understaffed. They were working so hard and deserve a 10/5!!! First and foremost the variety of options are immaculate! As a mom with a picky little one my son is able to enjoy the clam chowder and pretzel bites! My husband and I also enjoy the juicy sandwiches and burgers we know that when we go there we will never get disappointed! I need to give a huge shout out my waiter Aaron! Give this woman a raise! To make a long story short my husband myself and my son were having dinner there and the table next to us was a group of guys who were being very vulgar, using explicit language, dropping eff bombs just horrible language giving no regard to my 6 year old son. I am updating my post from March. We went to Rincon Brewery for my husband's birthday because he had never been there. This time the service was great, I wish I remembered the name of our server because she made the dining experience great. There were 7 of us and everyone was happy with their order. I'm only giving 4 stars because the sun was in our eyes because there are not any shades. We would have moved but all the tables were taken. I am retracting my statement that I will never go back. How many breweries does the City of Ventura really need? There are about as many as there are tattoo joints, smoke shops, and massage parlors. This brewery desperately needs better signage. You can't tell what they are as you drive by. The owners obviously put a lot of money into rehabbing the building prior to moving in, but, now, they stand to eventually go out of business for failure to advertise their business to the public with just better signage. Please hire a signage consultant, guys, particularly one who knows how to make your name legible to passerbys. Are you just relying on word-of-mouth to get the word out? Well, that's a risky way to go about things in business with as much money on the line as you have invested. I swear, your place looks cool, but what is it? I can't tell from the street. read more

Amazing! Great beer - amazing food and staff that truly cares that you're having a good experience. They are only on week 2 of being open so please give them credit on the nights that have hiccups. If you've been to the location in carpinteria you may notice the subtle differences, but both locations are a perfect options for great food and drinks! Patio has cornhole, Jenga and connect four! Don't know what it is about this place, but they just can't seem to get it right. We have gone 3 times thinking it was just growing pains, but it's just not good. The food is either to salty or bland an over cooked. The service is meh depending on who's working and where you sit. Our bartender couldn't bother with us to much cause he was to busy watching tv. Can't say that we will ever be back at least not for food. I'd rather eat at fosters freeze across the street. read more

The first time I ate there the food was delicious!! I had the Chicken Taco's with the special salsa they make- SO GOOD- the second time I ate there and ordered the chicken taco's a it was a very different experience- the chicken had not been shredded- huge chunks of chicken that had to be shredded at the table- the last meal I had there was Potato Skins- not good- I think that if you get a good meal you need to find out who is cooking and make sure you only go to eat when that person is cooking- It's a very nice place but it really needs consistency in the kitchen- read more

I can't say it is the worst food in Ventura because I haven't eaten at every single restaurant in Ventura. That said, it's most likely the worst food in Ventura. It's overpriced and awful. The beer is excellent here, but the food I had was not very good. I have heard the burgers are really good, but I had the buffalo chicken wings, chili Ken tortilla soup and fried pickles. The wings were good, but the chicken in the tortilla soup was really dry and the soup wasn't salted enough. The fried pickles were not good at all. The restaurant is new- and it shows in the ambience and plethora of eager employees. Service was quick to please, and the overall appearance of the place is clean and fresh. So why two stars? Our food came to us cold- very cold. The fries were cold, the burger was cold, all cold. We informed the waiter, who did apologize, but no other actions were taken- no discount, refund, "drink on us next time," etc. For a new restaurant, this put a sour taste in my mouth (which was already suffering from cold fries and burger). We will stick to the Carpinteria location or the wonderful restaurants nearby that always serve their food piping hot. read more

Went here with friends last week. Really nice big place with a good atmosphere and the beer is as good as any craft beer out there. I had a burger and it was fine. Some of our friends thought the food was a little bland but the selection wasn't too bad so there's probably something for most people. I've eaten here at least 10 times, privately and for work functions. The service is okay but I cannot seem to order anything, food wise, that I really enjoy. I never get up one day thinking "I really want that such-and-such sandwich from Rincon!" The setting is nice, and the beer is okay, but the food is nowhere near as good as the Carpenteria location. I really like the way this place looks. The decor, the setup, the ambiance, gives it a warm, welcoming feel. And most importantly there are plenty of great beer options to choose from which is displayed on a huge, easy to read screen. Ordering from the bar was quick and easy and recommended if you want a drink right away. Ordering a beer through our server took ridiculously long! I tried one of the blondes and it was light and refreshing as expected so i was satisfied on that point. It wasn't very busy considering the empty tables around us, but the service took much longer than expected. Lots of great sounding choices on the menu and we were looking forward to the food. I decided to try the fish and chips, which goes great with beer in my opinion and the rest of my party settled on burgers and wings. The appetizers took 20 min and the rest of our meal 25 min later. The food arrived cold, my fish was burned, we had to ask for condiments that should have come with the various food ordered, we had to ask for napkins and silverware? I didn't bother sending the fish back since they let it leave the kitchen looking as it did, they clearly didn't care either way. The rest of the food was mediocre and we all agreed it was bland. With all the great breweries in town to choose from, they need to improve their service and with such an extensive and appealing looking menu, they need to execute that better too. read more

I live very close & really wanted to like this place. Food is great, don't get me wrong. Just super pricey. Two entrees for my kids & a small salad for me came to upwards of $50. Also, this is the only time I've got charged for a takeout fee. And... customer service was nonexistent when I picked up. I wanted to like this place. Really. I have heard great things about the Carp location and was excited to check it out on a Friday night with 9 other family members. I should say that it's the perfect spot for a large group, though the inside, in line with many reviews, seems almost overbearingly too loud for full conversation. So we sat outside and it was much more easy to converse. Our waitress was great, quick, and assertive. The 3 stars is really due to our food. My Sourdough Jalapeno Burger was void of any Jalapeno's. My Mom's Veggie wrap was void of two different ingredient's listed (Black Beans and Avocado), and my sister's "Tarpitz" dessert was void of the Macadamia Nuts listed. Not to also say that my fries were half soggy-half "kinda crisp". That's 3 different orders messed up. Also noting that nothing about my burger tasted fresh, at all. I don't write Yelp reviews often, but was severely disappointed. I really do hope the best for Rincon and would love to give them a second chance if things seem to get better there! read more

It took 15 minutes to just get a menu and I kept having to flag the guy down. Food is not good. I've had the tri tip sandwich and the fried pickles. I'm giving two stars because of ambience. It's nice to be able to walk to a local establishment to grab a beer. I should've left it at that. The service was so so. I did see a lot of people run in and out of the kitchen and take the same food back-and-forth. I suspect with time, they will get better with their system. My biggest complaint was the food. I might as well of had my brother-in-law make me a sandwich in the kitchen. And serve it on a paper plate. I ordered the Maui burger. To the best of my knowledge most Maui burgers have some sort of a sauce on them. Usually teriyaki. The bun was cold and dry. The burger was so so. Cooked somewhat well. They tried to grill the onions. Essentially I had soggy onions melted with some Swiss cheese over top of a dry burger. No mayonnaise, no teriyaki sauce, nothing to speak of to lighten the dry nature of this burger. Eventually I pulled the meat out and I asked for a side of teriyaki sauce from the kitchen. 20 minutes later I got a small cup of teriyaki sauce. Ultimately I was very disappointed. My wife and daughter's food was not much better. I decided possibly we will try and go again after a few months time. Maybe they will get the food up to par. Right now I'm pretty down on this place. If you'd like a glass of beer and a casual environment, this might be the place for you. If expecting something edible that you enjoy, I would tread lightly. read more

You have to understand something about a quality dining experience. There are literally so many factors that can make up that entire experience. Take for this example of my recent visit to Rincon Brewery in Ventura. I road all the way from Burbank, Ca with Rincon Brewery lunch on my mind. Usually, we ride our Harley's to Carpinteria to the Rincon Brewery there, but we wanted to sample their new location. The second we entered their parking lot, we could see from the Love Whale Tails on the side wall and how clean the parking lot was and how stunning the exterior architecture is that we were in for a treat. Then we walked through the door, and the two hostess ladies greeted us with smiles and a welcoming phrase. We were quickly seated to a 2 seater high table, our preference and was met by Lindsay our server. I will have to bow and take my hat off to management and training because we were treated very special by Lindsay and everyone else. The multi-environment seating with an excellent menu and great tasting beer and clean restrooms were the best experiences I have had in months comparable. I really do hope that someone at the restaurant reads these comments and passes them along to the staff because they truly made it fantastic. The burgers, sliders, and beers were second to the staff and the food was great. We could have ridden to any one of 40 breweries between Burbank and Ventura but because of my excellent experiences at Rincon Brewery in Carpinteria, I chose to take that ride and we are damn glad we did. If you all keep up that kind of hospitality and serving great food and beers, you have my business for life. Great job! read more

This place is great for kids and has a good tap rotation, but can't get an order right. Make sure to check your order when you get it. Today I ordered an Anaheim chile burger instead of a jalapeno burger but got a plain burger, then when I asked about it, they brought some chopped jalapenos and got into an argument with me about what an Anaheim chile was. The other several times I've been here, someone's order is always done wrong. So, just check your stuff. I don't know if it's a kitchen or server issue. read more

No joke, even the staff was making comments about who was going to check the IDs! Me and my boyfriend were not the only people looking bothered and confused about children sitting in bar stools. We would have stayed longer and had dinner but chose to leave somewhere els. Family friendly breweries are great when rules apply and areas are designated kid friendly. Rules should apply. Not cool. Not bad. This was our second attempt to try it since they opened. The first time was a Monday night, but the wait quoted was over an hour so we went to Two Trees. Tonight the wait was quoted at 45-60 minutes, but only about 4 names ahead of us so we waited at the long tables. If there had been a server we would have ordered a beer while we waited, but didn't want to wait in line. This is a missed opportunity for the owner. If we had started drinking while we waited, we likely would've ordered a second drink with our meal. Ability to order appetizers at the long tables would've been another opportunity to cash in on the people waiting. We were seated after about 30 minutes. Service was slow. Partially because the place was packed, but also because we appeared to be far from the kitchen (in the inside room beyond the shuffleboard game). Much of the slow service appeared to be a layout issue, with the dining room far from the kitchen. The waiter was nice. Beers were good. Food was good, but not exceptional. Rincon sliders, bratwurst and kid's cheeseburger were all fine, but the adults would not choose the same entree again. Potato chips were great. We agree with many other commenters that the front desk staff needs additional training. They were not accurate on timing nor were they cheerful or helpful. I had to ask many questions about where to wait, etc. Since the place is new they might assume most people do not yet know where to sit to get a drink while they wait. We got the vibe that they didn't want people to wait, no suggestions on how to pass the time. We will try again once they have a chance to work out the kinks, they definitely have room for improvement, but a good foundation to start with. read more

Stopped by this new brewery in town tonight to try the new spot. It was really busy and really loud. Waited 30 minutes for a table. We finally got seated our waiter was very polite and very tentative. I was a little disappointed however, parking was a challenge had to park on telegraph as the parking was dismal. Food was good but it came to the table luke warm. I ordered potatoes skins and a blacken blue cheese burger and expected the bun to be warm with the patty, unfortunately the bread fell apart as I bit into the burger "not a happy camper". I was indecisive of the beer so I tried the flight of 4 samplers 1.75 each, a bite pricy for small beers. Not sure I'll return. read more

Finally me and the hubby got to try out this place last night. Service was really crappy sat for 10 mins waiting for our server then I flagged down a girl to ask her to send them over and waited another 5 mins. Hubby even went to the bar to get a beer and was ignored lol. Crazy too because there's so many staff but they all seemed to be just hanging out and having a good old time with each other so yah zero points for service. Food however was really good I got the lamb sliders and hubby got the bacon and blue burger. I hope that the management corrects the issue with the service because it's a lovely place and food is obviously good but people like good service and that could be their downfall. Wanted to add the guy that did eventually help us was really nice and did a good job (Keegan or Teegan??) Derek was our server at the Rincon Brewery. Not only was he attentive he was accurate and took great care of our table. He serves pints on 3 of his fingers which was fun. The food was amazing.
