I grew up coming here and the food used to be amazing. It was one of those spots that was always worth the drive. Unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. The last few times I've gone, they've been sold out of multiple items, which seems strange and poorly managed. The service has also gone downhill, and the food quality just isn't what it used to be. It's honestly sad to see such a great place decline like this. I really wanted to give a better review, but nostalgia can't make up for the drop in quality. Great service! Food came out very fresh and we were given 2 pan amasado with butter while we waited. The pisco sour is also very refreshing highly recommend it! If you are in a rush or can only do to go, you can go next door to the delicatessen to get empanadas and delicious pastries. read more

My family is from Chile and they have been coming to Rincon Chileno since they got to Los Angeles in the 80's. Their food is amazing and is made with so much love and pride. The empanada grande de carne is our favorite. Their pan amasado is so soft and delicious. And you have to finish off with mil hojas. 10/10 every time. read more

A CO- worker recommended this spot for some authentic Chilean empanadas. This is 2of2 of his recommendations man this spot is . It's not your normal dry empanadas this one has that flavory sauce inside. The pebra which was that green sauce is mouth watery spicy and flavorful and goes really well when you put it with the empanadas. I should have bought more pebra that were really good. Their empanadas de Pino are still delicious but the Mote con huesillo dessert was not what I expected. The liquid tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for awhile. Not fresh. But the princesas with dulce de leche are usually out of this world as are most hot items. I have had their pastel de choclo several times but it has been about 4 years since I had this again. It reminded me of the kind of sandwiches I used to make when I was a teenager and I wanted it to be just perfect without necessarily getting too fancy. The other day I was thinking of this place and realized I hadn't reviewed it, so this is way overdue. My wife used to take some classes at LACC so we would frequently drive by this place as it's walking distance from the college. One evening after playing tennis at Griffith Park we decided to try it. We had never had Chilean food, but looking at the menu everything was pretty familiar. We had beef empanada and the spinach empanada, milanesa de pollo and biftec a lo pobre. It was all very delicious. The service was friendly and to top it off they happened to have live music that evening. We had a good time. I would recommend checking them out. Ordered from here becuase my bf and I were craving Lomo Saltado. Unfortunately, it was the worst Lomo Saltdao we ever had. I don't see it on the menu on their website either, but was able to order through DoorDash. Maybe it's not typically on there, but the beef wasn't in strips like it normally was. More like small, flat chunks. It didn't come with a side of rice, but a piece of what was like pita bread, which I thought was really odd. The flavors were pretty good, but overall disappointed. On the plus side, do NOT sleep on the Pastel de Choclo if you've never had this dish. It almost looks like a personal sized lasagna, piping hot, stuffed with meat and delicious, sweet corn. Loved that - highly recommend! We also ordered the Chicken Empanada. Pretty decent, wish it was stuffed a little more and the flavors were pretty typical. read more

I'm second-generation Chilean, so I've been coming here since I was a child. Unfortunately, I don't get to visit often, because I live an hour and a half away. This Mother's Day, my family took me to the restaurant which opens at 11. It was such a treat! The food is fresh, beautifully seasoned, and authentic. The staff were joyful and attentive. We got empanadas, pescado (frito), and soup. We left very full, and the cheese empanada was even a hit with my 6 year old, which is a triumph. We went to the deli to stock up on empanadas and pebre to bring to the rest of my family. I'm happy to share this place with my daughter, and hope one day when she's older, she'll bring me empanadas when she visits LA. If you want to try Chilean food, this is the spot! read more

Been coming since the 80's. Phoned in an order for cheese and pino(beef) empanadas. did not disappoint. Still rocking. I, who lived in Chile for 8 years, and my Chilean wife agree - the fried cheese empanada is one of the best, comparing Chile. And the pino is solid as well. Despite their having many options for empanadas the beef (or carne in spanish) empanadas are the way to go. They take cards which is nice. Parking is a bit tricky. I go here to pick up empanadas to go for my office. Everyone loves them. This isn't really a restaurant as much as a deli where you can pick food up. Totally worth it though. read more
