I pass by this place probably 5 times and week and it's always on my list of places to go. From the outside you can see into the full glass-front restaurant. It always seem bright and full of people. They have opened up weeks after Covid hit and have done a great job adapting to the changes. The tables are very spaced out. They only serve with plastic/paper dinnerware. Servers all wear masks. Also, important to note, hours are adjusted. Once I stepped inside I could see it looks very open and welcoming. We were greeted immediately and seated. The server, whom I believe is the manager or owner was wonderful. He was very friendly and checked in on our periodically. The food was excellent! My husband got a traditional Cuban sandwich. It was a whopping 12 inches and impossible to finish. My husband took the other half to go. I opted in for the Friday night chicken and rice special. I upgraded to Congri which was a wise choice. It's a dirty rice that's blackish - perhaps tinted by the black beans that were mixed in. The chicken was perfectly cooked and so delicious! It was a hearty meal that I was happy to take leftovers home for the next day. Also, the tostones were phenomenal and made fresh-to-order. Picked up a Cuban to go so I could enjoy it during a Yelp virtual event on .... The history of Cuban sandwiches. It was my first time here and the restaurant was very clean and orderly. The gentleman took my order and 10 minutes later I was holding a neatly wrapped bundle of goodness that smelled amazing. The bread was delicious and crusty and not overly pressed. My husband spotted Rincon cubano and said he's always wanted to try their food. He mentioned his company ordered flan from them and it was delicious. So I said, let's make the stop and try their food. They have set day specials, which I like, as it makes for an easy selection. Both my husband and I got the shredded pork with white rice and red beans. My husband loved the food. I on the other hand thought it was ok. The red beans and pulled pork was too salty for my palate. I do appreciate the kind individual who greeted me as soon as I got in the door. He also helped me at the register. My husband likes flan and I like me some guava and cheese patty. So, I got a side of flan and the guava & cheese. Both were delicious. The portion for the flan was cute but quite small for the price. The portion for the dinner was worth the cost in my opinion. If you'd ask my husband he'll say the price was a bit much for the "special" dinner plate. He said he'll eat their again and even invite his parents to eat there when they come down to visit. Great Cuban Food! This a great little restaurant that serve authentic Cuban cuisine! They have a great Cuban sandwich and Media Noche'. I highly recommend the Shrimp Habanero which is full of flavor but not too spicy. I've tried a variety of there dishes and never been disappointed in the flavors or the generous portions. Prices are reasonable and they offer indoor and outdoor seating which is a great option in this crazy Corona Virus time. The staff is friendly and provide good service. The place seemed pretty authentic but the food was not spectacular. We got there and they did a good job with Covi management. But the Cuban bread was too dry and the ingredients were very light. The service was also very good. We were seated immediately. Pro tip: If you come on a night that Renesito is performing, make sure you come 45 minutes-an hour early to be able to get a table on the bar side where he performs. Despite the restaurant getting extremely busy after 7 o'clock, our server continued to check on us in a timely manner to make sure we didn't need anything else.
